I'm agreeing. Wii U skus were being watched, according to John.
The issue is that just releasing new consoles isn't going to solve the problem of no currently-supported consoles in the mass-market price range.
That's exactly my point, sorry if I was unclear. This gen has gone on too long, with prices too high.
I expect PS4 and XB1 to have huge launches, but I hope the success is sustained. I have a weird feeling we will be hearing bad news sales wise the whole next generation.
Also, Killer is Bomba?
It's entirely up to Sony/MS to keep the momentum going. No big droughts, continuous big game reveals and releases etc are needed steps
Yes, exactly. Re-posting because it got lost in the shuffle a few pages back:
In the August prior to the 360 launch, the PS2 sold 252k, the Xbox sold 136k, and the all-but-abandoned Gamecube sold 49k.
In the August a year later - 360 already out, and PS3 and Wii on the way - the PS2 sold 262k, the Gamecube sold 41k, and the Xbox had already been pulled from the market.
The next August - all 3 new systems already on sale - the PS2 sold 202k. And it did better than 96k in August for two more years.
96k is shit. It's not the hype for new systems killing sales. It's the age and price of the old ones. The new consoles should've been here 2 years ago, and the current ones should be <$100.
But Skylanders didn't get the initial up front investment like Infinity had. Those sales aren't too bad for your average game...but Infinity is like the 2nd most expensive videogame ever made (though I think GTAV just kicked it down a spot or so).
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09...les-in-august?abthid=523251b4f8aefdec3700002dAccording to Nintendo, 190,000 copies of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team were sold in August (combining physical and digital sales), while Pikmin 3 sold 115,000. New Super Luigi U has sold 120,000 combined units across physical and digital.
As was said earlier, the overlap between the group of people waiting for the new consoles and the group of people still potentially in the market for PS360 is bound to be pretty small.i think we have to keep the price of the consoles in perspective. the PS360 NEVER reached the bargain prices that the ps2, xbox, gcn reached. the 6th gen had price reductions really really quick.
2005: PS2= $150, Xbox= $150, GCN= $100
This is compared to PS360 @ $200-300 with new consoles two months away... of course nobody is buying these at these prices with next gen on the horizon.
Still not too bad. That's lower than the debuts of both Pikmin and Pikmin 2.
That's lower than the debuts of both Pikmin and Pikmin 2.
Yeah. I think FFXIV showing up on this list is very impressive. Surprisingly so.
We get a really, really good Splinter Cell and it bombs?Ouch, Splinter Cell: Blacklist across all platforms won't even come close to (Xbox exclusive) Conviction numbers which was about 1 million US, 2 mill worldwide. The Michael Ironside effect in action.
On the bright side, that's higher than the total sales for the Wii U this month, so...!

Yeah I wouldn't really expect higher than 10% digital with these.Still hard to judge how Mario & Luigi Dream Team and Pikmin 3 did on the chart, though I would guess that digital sales probably don't take up too much of the share.
