Really tough comp month too...
Last year, Disney Infinity, Saint's Row 4, Blacklist, NCAA Football was strong, etc. This year it's Madden and Diablo 3.

It's because, like Sony did with Diablo and Destiny, Microsoft worked to make this multiplatform release seem like an Xbox One-first game. That may have helped with the bundles, but not with the standalone game.
Still, you're right, with PS4's install base, this same thing might even happen with Call of Duty.
I have been inspired by this NPD thread in a way I never knew possible.

How much of a difference would that really make though? I imagine physical copies are the majority of the sales.

No way COD will sell more on PS4. Unless the deal breaks.
When the X1 was getting massive hate juice, COD still sold more. That was when people were buying ps4 out of wedlock. Like I said, Activision would have to break contract.

I think MS has a pretty good chance at taking November. They will likely have the best deals (look at what they have already offered pre-Holiday season) and they will have Halo out that month. With that said, I really wonder how much PS4 sells this holiday. 2 million?
Of couse, but EA Access is a factor to bring more people to digital version.
I think the point he's making is that with EA access you get 10% off, making it cheaper than retail so people might be more inclined to go digital on XB1.

Whelp! Despite MS' best efforts, they still can't take down the PS4.
September should see a bigger swing in PS4s favour too. November/December are still in the air depending on what else MS can chop off the price but nothing has worked successfully so far.

You can buy Madden 15 off the Playstation Store. In fact there was pre ordering and pre loading available for the title. I think almost 1/4 of our league bought Madden 15 from PSN instead of retail.

Because MS paid EA for every copy of Madden, not full price but some amount
I see a big association for Call of Duty with Xbox, but Madden and Xbox? No.

1. PS4 and XBone sales in the US are fairly close. PS4 only has about a 20% advantage.
2. Traditionally Xbox franchises like COD still sell better on the Xbone during most months
3. The Madden crowd are the core Xbox owners. It's like seeing Final Fantasy selling better on an Xbox platform.
But we don't know ea access numbers.
Interesting in the sense of seeing just how much more hardware and software the PS4 sells than the Bone.

Idk why ppl are surprised regarding madden. Ps4 has been dominating all year long. It's pretty much expected now.
Pretty sure the console makers need to pay for the bundles, and there are likely exclusive deals in place.
