So I guess having units in the stores doesn't mean failure after all. MS leading in all multiplatform software sales except for PS4 with Fifa, damn!
If you look closely at the NPD quote, it says "Xbox One held six of the top ten spots on the new generation console games list". It then lists those six games.
It doesn't list the other four slots, which could easily be four PS4 versions of those same games, and they could actually be higher on the chart than the Xbox One versions.
In other words: We Need More Data.

Yes. And DS games did do that rare feat. Hence my kind of surprise at lack of any must get 3DS game, like Kart DS and NSMB DS used to be.

...and they can still use them since PS4 is still on top overall in the US, like everywhere else in the world.
4.2 million worldwide vs 3 million is already a big gap, I think Sony is pretty happy now. It should only grow from now with the PS4 in high demand everywhere and the XBO sitting on shelves.

I do not believe those shots will leave the US though so I think Sony are ok.

I find it interesting that in December the majority of PS4's sales were collectively larger in EU and other countries than the USA.
Once PS4 gets its stock figured out, I expect PS4 to start pulling away and widening that gap.

WiiU wasn't great as usual. I'm really happy for AC4: Black Flag outselling GTA 5 in December. Looks like delaying Watch Dogs was a very good move.

The 720p versions definitely looked better so it makes sense.
2009 was still individual SKUs. If it was combined like it was in 2010 to present, some of those Nintendo titles would have been bumped off for AssCreed and Madden.

Xbox One sold less hardware YTD, but sold more software. Just goes to show a lot of people don't give a fuck about 720p vs 1080p outside of us hardcore gamers.

Imagine how well it'll sell once they actually do drop the price. MS is in a good position right now. I'd imagine Titanfall will lead to consistent sales through the spring/early summer. I wonder what their holiday 2014 plans are.

That both COD and BF4 sold better is interesting and I think it will be an important statistic. Both games have content coming to Xbox before the PlayStation, so it would be a bad look if the PS4 had the larger audience. I wonder if this also influenced EA's decision for Titanfall?
But then, what are people buying on PS4? Killzone and Knack? o_o
