are you kidding? just look at the user reviews on metracritiic and steam, not to mention the low metracritic score, this is a game for the niche hardcore gamer, and things like this really hurt it's sales. now look at games like blood borne, witcher 3, and MK cause the amazing reviews and user reviews, they were able to sell great, the fact that such a niche game has such low user scores on metracritic is unheard of.

If you look at the actual Metacritic score, it's reviewed well. Reviews is what the average consumer looks at when purchasing a game, no user-scores on MC.

Wow, people actually happy and thrilled to see SFV failed? Butthurt because of exclusive deal or something? Never in my life have I’ve seen so many people happy about sad news for a developer. Capcom has some of the greatest franchises in gaming, is mismanaged, and deserves some criticism, but wishing bad on anyone shows an ill-hearted individual. Just like the TR thread, or The Order. Why are people happy when things bombs? Don’t get the logic.

And SFV is a great game, I’ve already saved posts to come back next year and see what the landscape looks like. I’ll happily eat crow if I’m wrong, but no way I think SFV doesn’t turn into a fantastic fighting game over the next few years and sell 3 or 4 million over it’s lifetime.

People are not happy the game bombed because they don't like street fighter, its the opposite. if the game had sold millions by shipping a bare bones product with online issues and phoned in artwork what kind of message would that send Capcom?

The fact that it has not lit the charts on fire will force Capcom to take a look at how they handled the release and make them work even harder to make the game better over the next 5 or so years.

Bummer about SFV. It is an amazing fighter. First fighter since SF3 I can feel myself investing a ton of time in.

What Starcraft does for the RTS genre Street Fighter does for fighters.

GTA V never ceases to amaze me, you'd think that everybody that wants the game already owns it but the damn game keeps selling like hot cakes.

SFV failed miserably and I'm not surprised. The lack of arcade mode from the get go is something that I will never understand.

This game does not have good WOM .
I tell all my friends the same thing the game play is great but the game lack content .
Then they hold off from buying it and i am sure that is what others are doing .
Plus it rather easy to get info on how the game is lacking content for eg angry joe vid on it has over 900k views.

What a load of drivel, it's more than just MS making the error with all the DRM stuff at the start of the gen. The Playstation brand itself is much more popular in regards to consoles, always has been.

The PS4 has had some good exclusives as well, especially in the indie territory. This year see's some even bigger exclusives coming as well, just at the right time in my opinion to really strengthen the PS4 even more.

Third party and indie support has been excellent on the PS4 as well, so not sure why you mention that??

It's a great game? You played it? Many great games don't sell or move hardware. It won't make up the sizeable gap that ps4 has had this year at price parity . SP only game on x1. Will sell like Alan wake on xbox

i wouldn't call 77 impressive on metracritic considering below 75 is average, and i doubt its scorned xbox owners, there's way more playstation fans online, just look at rise of tomb raider user reviews, which are 8.1, also check the steam user reviews mostly are negative as well. if you read the reviews these sound like fans that are very unhappy about the lack of content, doesn't feel like a finished game.

There's nothing terrible about removing a weird petting game that is just downright weird and wrong for western tastes (considering how sensitive we are nowadays).

Nintendo did the right move.

I'm not saying the user reception didn't hurt it, but SFV sales aren't only a result of that. It had more stuff against it that paints the whole picture.

If SF doesn't sell, they're not making any other fighters. No versus games. Nothing.

This is why appealing to bigger audience other than tournament players is important.

I guess this kind of justifies Sakurai's whole, (paraphrased) "If I make Smash for competitive players only the series will have no future" quote that had so many people upset.

I was one of the rare people who bought an XBox in February. I feel a little bad about it now, but I'm having enough fun with Halos 1-5, Tomb Raider, Gears Ultimate, and Forza 6 to get past it. Also have Ori and Rare Replay which I've never even touched yet.

That some choices in the translation weren't well received, some characters and dialogues are better or worse written; is part of it.
