I still don't know why they didn't launch the 12gb model in US. Cheap barebones model would be perfect for customers buying it to play just one big game like The Last of Us. Maybe they will this fall with little bigger storage than the original EU model (12gb). $169 for 32gb model and $199 for HDD model.... DO it.

Yea, they have a history of that. Shipped not sold (so it's already disingenuous) + includes digital. It was important to give that 3.4 million PR before (the assumed) NPD numbers came out. It only makes sense.

I remember DKCR being at least 5million at point, but it seems like Galaxy 2 was like 6m at that time. The original DKC on the SNES was 9 mil though, so given the right time and place it's proven it can sell. I'm expecting NSMBU numbers, although that could change if console sales improve.

Yeah, the environment will be a bit different this holiday. I think 3D World and DKC could actually help sell each other going into next year since I think both games will help create a bigger base for platformers that NEW Copy and Paste U has already started. The question is in regards to the two games quality and marketing.

Futhermore, there is platformers like Rayman Legends and a new exclusive Sonic coming. Curious how Ray will perform on Wii U vs the other platforms.

Then there is Mario vs Sonic at the Olympics, Wii Party U, and Wii Fit U. All these games might have some audience overlap.

None of these will have the sales power they had on Wii by themselves of course.

And then there are wildcards like potential price cuts, new skus, and competitor actions.

I think Nintendo needs to lower the barrier of entry before November. I:m on the extreme end and believe GamePad needs to go, but they:ll probably just do bundles or take the financial hit and cut $50 off the deluxe.
