Surprising since MS have thrown so much in marketing, but there was a lot of trash talking about TF too. I don't see x1 taking any other month in 2014 now, maybe if they warp an Halo for Christmas?

So 35 days thus the math is

So February:
258k/28 = 9.12k per day
and March:
311k/35 = 8.9k per day

also needs to be said - great job on Sony with their inventory allocation management. After fulfilling JP pre-orders they shifted boatloads (literally) of stock to the US to give the xb1 titanfall bundles a good fight.

Isn't the seasonal trend generally an increase in the weekly sales rate from February --> March? Or is that not correct? If so, then the drop (really, basically flat) is even more significant.

I'm about to get in the car so haven't read the whole thread so maybe we know already but I'd really like to know the breakdown of Titanfall XB1 vs PC so we can compare the performance of the XB1 release to Infamous.

In any event I'm legitimately shocked PS4 won the month.

It's 7 million plus, not under.

Also there is no way the X1 is sitting at 4.8, 4.4 at a stretch, US sales and UK sales and the trickle from Europe would not make up the numbers to reach 4.8.

Looking at the sw list again, that's an impressive showing for South Park. That franchise still carries a lot of weight. Hoping we get some numbers soon.

After reading The Final Hours of Titanfall, it's a God damn miracle the game was even released. So you better believe Respawn is ecstatic about being the best selling game of its launch month.

Did anyone else think before now that Titanfall just wasn't a system seller?

It's literally a death match only game. I wanted to play it but I just don't play that much online, competitive games. I was sooooo close to buying this game but I just couldn't bring myself to drop $60 on a death match only game.

Another question. Do you think it would have fared better and helped the Xbox One if it had a full fledged single player campaign?

It looks like my theory that Sony would hold back supply to beat Microsoft in March panned out. I was sure that with the additional price-cuts and Titanfall being a pack-in that things would shift to Microsoft's favor.

What a surprise.

Actually, it's worse.

It's on top of NPD. It was a system seller.

But it was the only system seller. People in January and February bought the console JUST to wait for Titanfall, months later. So it was spread out over the entire quarter due to anticipation and the logical assumption that there'd be no price drop so soon after launch.

The scarier thing to imagine is April. Now that Titanfall is out and sold, the multi-month anticipation, artificially inflating numbers, is gone.

GAF has a short-term memory. I guess we should've given up on the 360 and PS3 after the Wii gained an enormous lead. Competition doesn't exist on GAF, apparently.

Nah I honestly can't tell with sales threads anymore. The rampant fanboyism is getting too much. Makes it hard to get actual numbers and who actually cares about sales or just about how their favorite console is "winning". And I mean there's nothing wrong with that, but having a circle jerk going on in a sales thread is distracting.

And I presume the Wii U at least did better than last month, unless DK really did help it sell an extra 10k units or something...
