1. How will Project Morpheus and a serious VR push will effect things long term?
2. Sony must know that, although they're selling well. They need to get to a real mass market price to cement things. Will Sony try to get the PS4 to $299 by holiday 2014
3. How fall along are they into the planing stages of the PS4's successor? Does the PS4 architecture scale well?

the only chance xbone has is the usa.
if they lose in the usa (which they currently are losing, btw), that's the brakes. they can't recover their losses in other territories unlike what the ps3 did.
what about europe? the biggest xbone games europeans can gobble up were fifa 14 and forza 5 and even then they still didn't win over europe. if they can't win over europe with games that have the biggest, safest possibilities of being system sellers, then what can they actually do? sony hasn't even released their european juggernaut called gt7. if gt7 drops and xbone hasn't come up with something for europe then it's basically done there.
outside the western world, playstation will win. just too much of a brand.
i remember when i was still living in asia. there was no xbox, no halo brand there but people know their ps, ninty and pc games.

I think Xbone sales per month are about the same as the Wii's at the same timescale, the X1 is a success, the PS4 is just doing much better in relation.

There is no significant sold-in for PS4.
Almost all consoles that get "sold-in" are sold.
US got almost complete Feb and March WW production. Rest of the world is still in pretty serious PS4 drought.
Once PAL countries start to get their consoles in early May the overall number will rise significantly.
Sony would be smart to hit 299. That would explode sales.
I was meaning more on the hardware side. They had bundles, price cuts, advertising, hell they might as well threw in a hooker and an 8-ball of blow with every console. They still got outsold by a fairly supply constrained PS4 in what was supposed to be your shining month of the year. Titanfall was going to sell gangbusters, we knew that. Hardware though? Only one thing to say to that:

LOL it is far from over both consoles should continue to sell, and to say M$ has nothing left both companies will have great first party games to reveal at E3 and beyond so this race while Sony is in the driver seat, there is room for 2 horses in this race and M$ isn't going to bow out gracefully. they will continue to put out the Halo's, Gears of War, who knows even Crackdown, or KI2. They have plenty of gaming left to provide. this isn't like the 360 and PS3 debacle of last gen. Sony fumbled that bad and had a year deficit to overcome, this time the playing field is more level which is why we are seeing the parity in the two companies. The winners are us the gamers, competition is healthy for consumers.
