MS needs to do something quick when a game that's supposed to be the "killer app" should be increasing console sales.
I actually said before that I thought the Xbox One had already gotten all or at least, most of the benefit that it was ever going to get from Titanfall prior to the game's release, and this likely supports that assumption. When I saw all the crazy early Xbox One sales, I thought then, and still believe now, that there's no way Titanfall wasn't factoring into that somehow.
The game's amazing, and really has the potential to be huge. I still believe that as much as I did before. But just as I also said before, a proper, epic campaign would really help put this one over the top with this kind of gameplay, making it perhaps one of the biggest franchises this gen. I think it would have to release on both systems to accomplish that, but the potential for this franchise is clear as day. That said, I wouldn't underestimate the post release staying power of this first entry. Word of mouth should be very good to this game.
All that said, I still firmly believe people are way exaggerating the doom and gloom over the xbox one. I don't see anything that Microsoft should be overly concerned about, nothing at all. The thing is, so far, easily beating the 360 at the same point in time, and not doing so by a small margin. Does that fact make the 360 a failure? Of course not. The Xbox One is being outsold by the cheaper PS4 that's available in twice as many countries. I don't see the shame in that. Now, maybe if the 360 was outpacing the Xbox One overall, people would have an argument to make, but since when has 311k in the month of march been terrible? You guys are crazy.
