To be fair most Sony AAA exclusives title aside from uncharted 4 (come on) and bloodborne has failed miserably financially imo. I think Microsoft exclusives are doing better.

I thought inFamous:Second Son was a pretty big success since it sold over a million copies within a week. Even Killzone sold over 2 million, and Knack sold over a million.

Isn't The Order the only title couldn't even hit a million, and now SFV which is Multiplatform.

Holy shit, pokken did better than I thought it would. I figured fighting game + near dead wii u was too much to overcome.

And double holy shit, I live in a world where a pokemon fighter is stomping street fighter in sales.

Does anyone know what the Wii U sales numbers are? Pokken and Zelda being so high have me intrigued.

Until Dawn sold well too. Dunno what he's talking about...

That's would be pretty shocking to me

Oh wow good point PSVR is October and they could time a price drop to coincidence with its launch.

Honestly Xbone may not win a single month this year

It would be in Sony best interest to time a price drop for PS4 with the launch of VR

Yeah the only one I can't think of a press release for that they were actively pushing is the Order. Until Dawn they seemed to dump out with little fanfare from Sony, yet I believe it did well. So yeah, the Order and SFV are the only true failures I can think of. Coincidentally, both are extremely short on content.

Nope. Infamous Second Son, Driveclub, Knack and Killzone have all done well. I think over 2 million each. And right now Ratchet and Clank seems to be doing well over expectations.
And I think Until Dawn sold beyond Sony's expectations as well. Enough to prompt a VR (sort of) sequel.

How is SFv short on content? Most serious players got over 500+ hours of play time probably. It's short on content only if you are casual or rpg player or something ;). Order on the other hand had a 5 hours badly written with bad gameplay story mode.

Anyone have any data on how the WW remake compares to TP remake sales? I think most people would agree realistic Zelda's sell better, but would be nice to have some more data. The two would be in pretty similar situations.

April is a slow month and will be the first full month with Xbox One new price.

Killzone and Infamous sold well. We know Driveclub got over 2 million. MLB the show is selling.

you mean evo right?

Honestly, Street Fighter V faceplanting isn't great for top players of the game. Whatever future lies for the game, there's less likely for there to be huge prize pools...which destroys anyone's attempts into making competitive SF their career.

Spectating the game early is good for stream monsters though.

no i meant E3

Where did sfv fail where battlefront succeeded tremendously. No even a millions sp lover or kotor series player hate couldn't stop it but sfv couldn't overcome that. Is it because of the star wars name? I mean can't be right? Swtor failed miserably too went f2p less than a year....

Is it possible that we've already hit near the saturation point for new consoles already? Sales should be going UP, not down.

Because, in that thread, there was quite an aggressive and negative approach towards those, like myself, who suggested a number that was lower than the average numbers being thrown around.

Oh, so an eye for an eye approach rather than a sensible approach.

Most of the posts/threads/opinions on why it has underperformed point to the lack of SP content as a major cause of the poor WoM the game has, so there's clearly done substance to the claim.

I agree with you that causal voice win this time when it comes to the sfv hate bandwagon but I wonder why vocal minority failed to stop battlefront suceess. Is it because star wars?

I think PS4/XB1 sales have been front-loaded compared to the 360/PS3 generation.

You're right and there are a variety of reasons for that. But as the industry changes so does the look of the console industry.

That's why we'll see both PS4K and Xbox 1.5 at this years E3 so both companies can have steady sales in the next 2-3 years.

I'm pretty shocked at how badly SFV performed. Capcom should have also released it on the Xbox One.

They forgot the Street Fighter franchise got the revitalization it needed when SF4 released on the 360 years back.

Mediocre or disappointing sales can be rationalized or analyzed through smaller factors. Street Fighter V was such a complete disaster that there is only one conceivable explanation: regardless of quality, no one wanted the product.

As for the performance of the Wii U titles, if Sony or Microsoft had only a few titles period for their platform in a calendar year, I bet they would sell fantastic, too.

No, it's short on content regardless of what type of player you are. The enjoyment those players find in the game isn't based on the lack of nor abundance of content but the mechanics and gameplay.

Nice to see MLB chart

SFV what are you doing in life

that special looks cool and all but with a blast like that he just killed his trainer too

I really regret buying Street Fighter 5. I don't know if I can say that about any other game purchase I've made in the last few years.

I knew the content would be limited at the start but THIS limited? Ugh. Hopefully the big June (or whenever) update will win back some of the people who already bought the game. Unfortunately, it might be too late for to get everyone else on board. And I can't blame those people.

It's too late imo. Sfv will be lucky to hit 1 mil in 5 years imo.
