Per my calcs, Wii u did about 36k which isn't horrible I guess... I'm on a phone though.
36k is terrible.

Republican math.oh nm thought those were console numbers from creamsugar
Feb 2012 to May 2013 isn't 2 years.The 3DS game wasn't a port of a 2-year old handheld game.

Microsoft has the potential to completely dominate the U.S. with the Xbox One and they are letting that slip.
Inflation adjusted, $400 is a fine price. Even $500 isn't crazy (that's about the same as the launch price of the Xbox 360).
What's the incentive for retailers to keep stocking the hardware though? Not a big margin on that.
Just wondering, how did you get the DS number? Based on the total units sold?So are we going with this?
Nintendo 3DS = 114K
Xbox 360 = 114K
PS3 = 84K
Wii U = 36K
Wii = 36K
NDS = 34K
PSV = 15K
PSP = 4K
Did I mess anything up?
There's no market interest because there are no games. If they wanted sales, they would get their big IPs on the system. IPs like GoW and GT.
Also, if they'd rather not lose money on the system, why did they just announce Freedom Wars? Surely, development of new Vita games would have stopped by now if they planned to drop the system.
Not that I'm defending Sony, but most of the hyped indie titles haven't released yet and won't until late summer.

Though what's the point of upgrading to Xbox One when it's not even BC with all 360 disc games & XBLA games? You might as well jump to PS4 on that front, especially when it's $100 cheaper than XBO & is more powerful than it.
so if my calculations are correct, the wii u is at 26k.
yikes.
This thread is moving unusually slow for NPD. I realize this is a shitty month but we're usually at like 10/20 pages by now I think. This is the first time I can keep up with the thread
Assuming Wii U is ~33,000.
The rift between the GameCube and the Wii U continues to increase.

Wasn't PS2 selling quite a bit better than this even after PS3 launched?
What happens when the one console future becomes a no console future? At this point, are all of console's hopes for the future riding on a one machine that is pretty much just a souped-up version of what's out there now?
I think those are just for RER sales.so if my calculations are correct, the wii u is at 26k.

Assuming the Wii U is 33K, in it's 7th month it sold the same as Vita's 7th month...Assuming Wii U is ~33,000.
It does have indie portsMaybe the Wii U can get some indie ports.

Good grief at Vita. And some people still think the system is viable. lol.
eh, I put so much money into this industry I am not worried

Just like the Gamecube?Damn the wii u needs a serious price drop.

My local Best Buys just reorganized and the Vita is next to the PS3 accessories. There's always some space next to the headphones and remotes.

Honestly the way things are looking my gut tells me the industry is going to continue to under perform substantially even with the ps4 and x1. Sure will see solid sales 1-4 months after their initial release but something don't smell right at the core of the industry...
Calling it GameCube 2.0 is too flattering at this point.Assuming Wii U is ~33,000.
The rift between the GameCube and the Wii U continues to increase.
It's fair to say that Sony is letting the vita die on its own. All of their efforts are towards making the PS4 a success.
Personally I don't think they ever gave the system a chance. Amazing little system but flawed in the worst areas for a handheld.
I bet it happens before the PS4 and Xbone release unless Nintendo thinks the downward spiral of the industry continues past the holiday season. That's why no announcement at E3 didn't surprise me.Damn the wii u needs a serious price drop.
