Nah, 7-8 million tops.
Plus that happened in December. I don't know why people keep bringing it up in an npd thread about November..They only made 12,300K of those units.
And only a portion were allotted to the US.
So it wouldn't have made much of a difference.
My biggest question from this is, if the 7-10k figure is true, how is MS going to gain any momentum in the first half of 2015? They had multiple exclusives and major comarketing deals in October and November along with some extremely aggressive pricing. Before Fall, their 2015 is looking pretty barren.

wow Wii U @ 242k, holy shit.
The system is going to be, gosh, 18 million? 17 million? by the end of this gen? Catastrophic and tragic (as tragic as business things can get in gaming world terms anyway). Semi-depressed
That's how happy they're with the sales.
Why would anyone expect it to be?
IMO Aniibos are cheap plastic shit that I hate and I wish it sold 0 units. Yes salty
Was there any ever doubt?
I'm pretty sure it went as low as 299 in some places already. $199 by next November might happen at this rate
No way ouya sold 10kkill me
On the contrary, I'd imagine they see setting a new sales record for the system as a big success, regardless of how Sony did.

Well, the difference is: The Xbox One won't reach "76 million units" lifetime sales.
( ͡°╭͜ʖ╮͡° )
Pokémon series: (first month sales in North America)
Code:[GBA] Pokémon Ruby / Sapphire (Nintendo) {March 17, 2003} - 1,237,700 [GBA] Pokémon FireRed / LeafGreen (Nintendo) {September 9, 2004} - 1,240,348 [GBA] Pokémon Emerald (Nintendo) {May 1, 2005} - 882,579 [NDS] Pokémon Diamond / Pearl (Nintendo) {April 22, 2007} - 1,757,000 [NDS] Pokémon Platinum (Nintendo) {March 22, 2009} - 805,000 [NDS] Pokémon HeartGold / SoulSilver (Nintendo) {March 14, 2010} - 1,781,200 [NDS] Pokémon Black / White (Nintendo) {March 6, 2011} - 2,500,000 [NDS] Pokémon Black 2 / White 2 (Nintendo) {October 7, 2012} - 867,000 [3DS] Pokémon X / Y (Nintendo) {October 12, 2013} - 1,700,000 [B][3DS] Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire (Nintendo) {November 21, 2014} - 1,500,000[/B]
They'll have to introduce some potentially revolutionary accessory, akin to Kinect for X360.
That's their only hope at this point.
rest of the year combined? no

Amooboos would cost 79 each and have bluray.I'd buy some Sony Amooobos. Give me Ratchet and Clank for display.

Also Dragon Age 2 must have killed the series reputation, goddamn. I haven't started Inquisition yet (I own it, just haven't started yet), but most say it is an amazing improvement. Sad they weren't rewarded for it, seemingly
Nah, screw that. It's not so much spin as the recognition that when we're talking a million sales, 10k is a drop in the bucket. Reporting mistakes or even post-month returns could easily change the victor... it's essentially a 'tie', and if it were politics a recount would be likely if not certain. So sure, it's a victory, but given the sales and bundles and such, as others have noted, it's a Pyrrhic victory at best.
What great bundles?
Plz buy a Wii U.
I do think there has to be careful consideration made to the type of slashing of their profit margin they required to even barely edge out PS4. Was the increase in unit sales for November NPD year-over-year sufficiently large enough to make the venture worth it relative to the diminished profit they made on the effort?
This is maybe obvious, but this means the PS4 likely outsold the Xbox One worldwide for the month, right?
About those PS3 and 360 sales, I think I got them, just by searching a bit
Sales first 13 months
Total ~ 2,447.2K
PS3 + 360 first 13 months total ~ 5847K
Almost 80% increase = between 75% and 80%
So, PS4 + One first 13 months total ~ 10,232.25 < x < 10,524.6
PS4 + One first 12 months total ~ 8,500
PS4 + One November, then, ~ 1,732.25 < x < 2,024.6
Never forget: More consoles are sold in November alone than in the rest of the year

If the Microsoft PR used a combination of US and UK to claim a US NPD victory, that's crossing a line. (It's possible they were just highlighting a string of sales performance in both regions).
Amooboos would cost 79 each and have bluray.

8.5 most likely. 10 million will be for the end of the year.

Let me tell you this story.
Once upon a time, in another life where I wasn't the leader of Xbox, I was a high school gym teacher. And then there was this competition between my class and a class from another high school. I put forward my star student who was able to do the most amount of reps on a bench press. In the end, the opponent did 45 reps, before he exhausted himself. My student had only ever maxed out at 40 in the past.
But that day, I told little Jimmy that he's doing to do 46. Because 46 means he's going to win. And that's all that matters. Little Jimmy didn't have to 60 reps or 90 reps, he just had to do 46 reps.
And that's what he did. Little Jimmy went home with the gold that day.
Fact is, a win is a win. It may have taken everything, every ounce of energy, every drop of sweat, every drop of blood that the Xbox One has, but it did it. At least it wasn't like The Rock at Wrestlemania 17. He just gave up after 20 chair shots.

Yes they did win but they're not in a much better position than they were before. Sony is likely to take December even if Microsoft continues its fire sales.Let me tell you this story.
