Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 reviews and benchmarks

Standard card with custom cooler from EVGA?:

https://www.komplett.se/product/890647/datorutrustning/grafikkort/pci-express/evga-geforce-gtx-1080

That's about 1000SEK cheaper than all other cards (6599SEK vs FE at 7699)

Also to add, ASUS Strix with following clocks:
Gaming Mode
Base Clock: 1759MHz
Boost Clock: 1898MHz

OC Mode
Base Clock: 1784MHz
Boost Clock: 1936MHz

Comes with 8+6 pin power connector.

Weird how much cheaper that card is compared to the stuff on inet.

Looking forward to the June 10th for dat Strix, haven't seen anything about the Xtreme Gaming from Gigabyte yet though. If the Strix comes out before that then it's mine.

Hilarious the difference between Fury X launch and 1080 launch though.

Nope. I had mine in a cart ready to order the second it went up. When I finally decided to order it was out of stock.

Bummer =( That happened to me with the EVGA FE on BestBuy.com. Did you try BH? Not sure if they are all sold out, but links are on the previous page of the thread.

They're up, but the product pages don't show in stock. Gotta use the add to cart link; check wario64's twitter. (Would post links but I can't get on twitter at work)

Well I got the prices for the EVGA cards at least:

609.99 for the regular
649.99 for SC
679.99 for FTW

!!!!

Were these confirmed as releasing on June 10th or is that still up in the air?

The FTW and SC both had pre-order option but the backend server is all sorts of busted atm.

Damn right brotha, we in this together.

I need them reviews!

Yeah, I'm waiting to see how more of them perform in the wild. I bought an EVGA 980ti SC+BP last weekend for $410, but still have a Zotac preorder that I snagged on Amazon . I'm really hoping the throttling is less of an issue then it's being made out to be, and I can just resell the 980ti for a small loss (if that).

Do you think there will be lines at B&M stores?

I know people in Denver who are planning on mobbing our Microcenter...well, like 45 minutes ago in preparation for the 10AM opening. If console launches have taught me anything, it's the people will take any excuse to stand in front of a store and geek out about a new release. It's like foreplay for tech enthusiasts.

Seems it's the cheapest card, but I think it's really just a standard PCB with a custom cooler, others are probably custom PCB's as well. And the FE is show to be even worse value than before.

I'm seeing dates from 1st of June (not likely), 3rd of June (for that cheap EVGA card), 6th of June for Asus Strix (on komplett.se) and 9th/10th for most other cards according to komplett.

so second week of June should be the date.

I need them reviews!

yeah, reviews would be nice. Good thing about pre-orders in Sweden, you don't have to pay jack shit upfront and can cancel even after the card arrives at the store :)

Overclockers have a reference card up for pre-order, with a blower fan for £524! More than £100 less than they are asking today for the FE.Well played Nvidia, well played. No early adopters tax my arse.

Yep, I don't know why anyone wouldn't wait the two weeks or so, an ROG Strix is less than a FE lol.

Awesome! This worked I thought I was screwed when I had it in cart twice this morning and lost it during checkout.

I used one of the links and snagged the PNY 1080 card, thanks. Nice! Now I just have to wait for Wednesday. It's going to feel so good to go from a gtx660, to something as powerful as a 1080.

Quick question since I'm new to all this graphics cars business. What's the advantage of two 8 pin or 8 & 6 pin connectors over one? Is it to be able to power the fans or overclock the card harder? I really like the water cooled MSI card but it only has one 8 pin. Does it just not need two because it's water cooled?

ROG Strix actually has two variants, there is a regular Strix 1080 which is running on reference clock at 1607/1733. The 1898MHz boost one is the OC Edition which is more expensive than FE.

Somebody remind me how the custom GPU buying game goes, I remember you should buy the lower clocked ones and then do the last couple of MHz yourself right?

Like buy the Windforce 3x instead of the G1 gaming and just adjust the clock speeds yourself.

Strix OC version £701 on Scan.uk

Kind of tempted so I can get maximum resale value on my twin Frozr 980ti

I was wanting to wait for a ti version but if regular 1080s are coming in at that price how much more are the ti versions typically?

EVGA FTW pre-ordered.

wallet am cry ;-;
Suppossedly shipping on 17th of June, hope it will be earlier than that.

BOO YA I did as well though their site. Ended up costing me more money because of shipping but I dont care, its worth the extra cost not worrying about it.

The OC variant is still 200 SEK cheaper than FE in Sweden.

Also, STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING is the OC one, STRIX-GTX1080-8G-GAMING is the regular one.

Haven't seen regular one listed anywhere in Sweden though. Komplett.se, webhallen.se and inet.se all have the OC one (STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING) for 7499:- (FE is 7699:-)

But the manufacturer's code is the same as on OCUK and that is £619

I bought the MSI "Gaming X" card, have no idea what I actually bought.. Will be interesting to find out once I have time to do research..
