NVIDIA to officially introduce GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 graphics card tomorrow

The 3060 ti was for a while a cracker of a card, one of that gen's best buys. The ram problem later on though, that was a needless shame - but only if you let it be.

8gb is still fine for many, many players. Just not on brand new fucking cards.

For me only thing that Nvidia at this point has value for me is the software suit like RTX HDR and RTX Video Super Resolution for low-res non hdr videos..

If AMD doesn't do that for their 9070xt and cannot buy a MSRP 9070xt soon, I am actually thinking about getting a RTX 5050 - if it comes out below $199... not even 5060 or 5060 Ti.

Besides the 5090, so far every card has been cheaper. Plus, pricing it at $450 puts it far too close to the 5070 they will inevitably have to discount by around $50 to make room for the 5070 Super. I think $450 for the 16GB model and $350 for the 8GB one. $250-300 for the 3060.
Yeah, that's what I meant. 450 for the 16GB. 350 for the 8GB.

AMD can really win big by making both the 9060 and XT 16GB but objectively Nvidia will probably sell more cards if they're able to keep them in stock. AMD can't undercut them hard, but I wouldn't be shocked to see in a few months the base 9070 getting closer to the 450 and competing with the 5060ti.

It's going to be an interesting fight

8GB in 2025 laughable.
Should be the below
50 Tier 12Gb
60 Tier 16Gb
70 Tier 18Gb
80 Tier 24Gb
90 Tier 30Gb

Let's be more realistic here:

xx50 - 8GB
xx60 - 10GB/12GB
xx60ti - 12GB/16GB
xx70 - 16GB
xx70ti - 20GB
xx80 - 20GB/24GB
xx80ti/xxx90 - 24GB and more

Absolute minimum/Reasonable amount

Have they leaked prices?

You probably won't be able to buy it anyway, but I would guess that the MSRP is the same as 40 series. Except the 5060 might be slightly more than $299.

AMD of course will undercut it a bit depending on how fast it the 9060 XT is. But only a little bit.

Nvidia can't even supply the existing 50 series cards in quantities greater than about 2

Why do they keep introducing more phantom products that no one can actually buy

I feel sorry for all the poor souls buying a brand new 8gb card to last them the next 4-5 years.
That's true, basically RTX5060Ti 16GB its the only lower-end (lmao it feels wrong to even write that as it should be higher-mid-end but here we are...) that can survive next 4-5 years. But let's see the price for that thing..

Please don't buy these. All of it reeks like a 1050 Ti at a time when the 570/580 was available.
Not that anyone will listen, and these cards will most likely be the most popular on Steam 3 months from now.

If their problem is yields they may have a load of 5050 / 5060' chips on dies which didn't make the grade on the higher SKU's. If their problem is they would rather make AI chips then it seems crazy to put more pressure on themselves.

In the 6 years since my 1660ti was released they have only mustered up another 2GB VRAM.
It's soon going to be a fucking 9 years for my GTX1060 and this legend has 6GB VRAM.

The 12GB 3060 is a solid upgrade for these cards. if you can find one under $300 i would recommend it.

It's not the most powerful card but it's still 2x more powerful than what you currently have and it's the cheapest 12GB Nvidia card (plus, it's the last proper "60" card) so you get way more value than the 8GB 4060. It will also give you access to DLSS, which helps a lot.

I did this upgrade after i got a nice deal at 250 euros. And it's better to sit and wait on a 3060 than a 1060/1660.

VRAM isn't free.
You would be paying for more VRAM, and in case of 4060 it's not clear that the card needs more than 8.
With 5060Ti the 8GB model is certainly a weird one but there anyone willing can opt for the 16GB one. Problem is that people weren't very happy with 4060Ti 16GB earlier...
Its 8$ for Samsung 16gb gddr6 module . Probably half if you buying in bulk . Half if you just swap 8gb module for 16gb , so probably cost 2$ more for nvidia to upgrade 8gb to 16gb .

Well plus the die size on those chips is smaller. I mean you have a 4070 super which is 294 mm^2 vs the 4060 which depending on the model are 188mm^2 or 159mm^2. I'd expect something similar with the 5060 and 5060ti. (It's probably smaller so that would make it easier to make.)

Damn, M**ing PS4 launched @$399 with 8GB in 2013....

Actually 5.5GB of usable memory for games…and closer to 3GB for a PC card with equivalent VRAM.

The 1070 released in 2016 does have 8GB though.

5GB available to devs so maximum 3.5-4GB to be used as vram. Buy you are right, 8GB in 2025 is a fucking joke.

First xx60 class card with 8GB was 2060 Super, then we had 3060 with 12GB! Now...

Can't believe I have 32GB VRAM and 64GB system RAM. 96GB total lol

Your point still stands as it really is mind boggling how Nvidia is still putting out 8GB cards in 2025 but

PS4 used unified memory similar to Apple products (which still had 8GB up until recently as well) and consoles still. I think it was around 5.5>6 available for games.

A comparable GPU used to make console equivalent pcs was the 750ti which had 2GB of VRAM during a time where most people have 8GB of regular memory.

And UE5 games still stutters.

I don't know why games just don't allow assets to be dumped to RAM when someone has a lot of it? They are streaming constantly because consoles are memory limited but fucking use that 32/64/128GB of RAM when someone has it!

…sorry to break it to you but not all UE5 games stutters

Most do. Some games stutter on consoles as well but "some" people here will tell you this is not the case lol.

Who the fuck are these for? People who do zero research or parents who want to buy little Timmy a GPU but have zero idea of what they're doing? Or is it to use their brand power to crowd out the 9070 in a similar price bracket?

in 2025, cards with 8GB of VRAM should not go for more than $150 at max. Everything above that is just screwing over the customer hard.

Nvidia saved in low-end?
Still trash since that's like 450 U.S dollars and it's not even 16gb but 12gb. It still wouldn't have been saved but would at least be barely passable still if they were to release the 5060 TI 16gb at 450 and the 5060 12gb at 400 with them being at least 15 to 20% better than the 4060 ti.

We all have to make a pact today to relentlessly bully any 5000 series 8GB purchasers. The motive would be dissuading people from getting ripped off.
