NVIDIA to release GeForce Titan

It actually went up last night. Either it's been available for 24hrs now, or it went out of stock and just popped back in. Last night it was up for at least a couple hours before I passed out.

I think these just went up as some have said like you that they were up last night. Many did not see them last night because it shockd everyone because no where was it hinted the the SC editions would be out so soon.

As far as Newegg requiring signature for delivery, will let you know in 1-2 hours when mine is delivered.

I just caved and bought a Titan. I said I wouldn't. I justified good reasons that I wouldn't. But then I looked at my GTX 480 and decided and I didn't want to deal with its heat output for another summer.

Looks like I'm maxing out my 120hz monitor this year until I do a full overhaul upgrade of the rest of my components and monitor.

chyea we in here!

Plugged into the second pcie slot so it's big bro can go up top tomorrow

Very Cool Smokey! Looks great. Please post some benchmarks and in-game stats and some Overclock Results would be awesome. I am still waiting for my cards. I figure withing the hour it should be here.

Backplates in March according to Jacob from EVGA:

Because it's not worth it to put it on a $1,000 card by default. Let's make even more money!

First run with Heaven 4.0. Stock clocks on everything. Never hit the default 80c temp marker. Highest it got was 76c.

Heaven at Ultra. Still above 30 woo

So weird seeing that GPU utilization never waiver from 99% ha

OK that Parvum case is definitely interesting, very interesting....The GF will not allow anything that looks too PC'ish hence the FT03 choice to begin with.

Could get much better cooling with the Parvum too, probably a Kraken instead? Good idea?

I will definitely post pictures PC GAF!

It's not really any bigger either. Also puts the PSU in a place where its exaust isn't right in front of an intake :P

The Kraken really isn't much better, if you want good cooling you should look after a custom loop (seems to be a big feature with it) which could of course also cool those two Titans. For AIOs dual 120mm have much better compatibility and perform better than dual 140mm because 120mm fans tend to be better.

What kind if monitor do you have for that resolution?

Anyone here any experience with crossover monitors?

2560 x 1600 is a pretty default resolution for 30" monitors.

Dell U3011

Nice. I was going to go with one of those, but ended up getting a Yamakasi because I. They were $550 vs $1000 +

Also, I'm not a fan of the anti-glare coat on a lot of thees monitors. I know that's 100% preference. And honestly, if my computer was in an area where light caused reflections on the screen, I would definitely prefer the anti-glare. But it just happens that, in my situation, I like the other better.

However, one thing I love about Dell - is their monitors are built really really well. They also run a lot cooler than Korean monitors IMO. So if you already are beastin it with GPUs, things can get hot in your room.

I tried Titans very briefly, last night.
Played Crysis 3 (for the first time) for about an hour. Unfortunately, I usually don't have enough spare time to play games during the weekdays. :(

Anyway, I tried overclocking and boom.. it went to 1100 MHz no problem on air. And with custom fan profile (a bit noisy), the max. temp reached was 69 degrees Celsius (GPU #1) during my Crysis 3 play last night. I think I can push it further and I'm going to try it this weekend.
Honestly, I was very skeptical of the overclocking results I read on various reviews. (cherry picked samples for reviews).

From my brief overclocking experience last night, it makes me wonder why did Nvidia release Titan at 837 MHz reference clock ? I think they could've gone for 950 MHz easily. (or even 1 GHz).

Smokey, if you don't mind posting and re-running your Unigine at 1920x1080 that would be great. Most of my data is at 1080p for my past cards, so would like to compare apples to apples and most people run them at 1080p for benchmarking. I am typing right now on my Rig with my Titan plugged in (pictures in-coming), but since I did a fresh install of Win8 onto my new SSD's, I have not had time to download any benchmark programs yet.

Compute performance per watt? Could have easily been specced for 300W draw instead of 250(and 265W OC). Lot of headroom left untapped.

Yeah I will. Having an issue with Origin since I put the Titan in. Keep getting nvwgf2um.dll error when trying to start Crysis 3, or any Origin title. Doesn't effect Steam. I've loaded up most of my Steam games and they all work as normal. Doesn't happen on benchmarks either.

I still remember helping Smokey pick out the parts for his first build. Now his build puts mine to shame. ;_;

What case are you using now Smokey?

are you fucking kidding me?!

gimme your old video card, my bff. <3

I cut you a good deal on my last one. Plus you ain't about this life lol. PS Lakers lol

Ha Everybody I talk to always points to them helping me out back in the day. I've come a long way. Right now I'm using the Corsair 500r. But I just got a new Corsair h80i so that I can work on moving back to the FT02 when the other Titan gets here. Titan uses a blower style cooler, which fits the FT02 perfectly. And it has a window :)

This post made my day.

Glad that bauss case is getting loved again. They'll look at home.

Cool beans. I just ordered 2 EVGA cards from TigerDirect. They're the only people that seem to have them in stock, but I'm wary of whether or not their stock is accurate, or if they're just taking orders without having any on hand.

Ok so I've been doing some overclocking for the past hour or so because of the stupid bug I keep getting with Origin. First I think I need to reiterate that this card is a beast. When I was able to get through Origin I tried BF3 and Crysis 3. BF3 @ 2560x1600 everything set to Ultra = avg 66fps in MP

Crysis 3 for shits and giggles I put everything on Very High, 8x MSAA. VRAM cache/utilization skyrocketed up to 2.8GB (I am at the dam section). Shit looked crazy. The Titan was working and I had anywhere from 24-30fps. I'd say closer to the 24 range. Surprisingly it was still playable even at what console gamers like to call dat cinematic feel. On a normal run through on Very High I was around the 40-45 range. There has to be something to that error with Origin. I just played chapter 2 of Max Payne 3 with zero issues on Steam. Benchmark software has been running fine too. Pisses me off. BF3 is the main game I play and now I can't unless that error decides to take a day off.

Speaking of MP3...I loaded that game up and cranked everything to the max including 8x MSAA. Averaged 30. Dropped it down to 4x MSAA...averaged 55. I guess there is something to this whole single card > SLI thing. Everything feels so smooth even if it's not 60fps. Getting these playable frames at 2560x1600 on a single card is amazing.

On the overclocking side...maybe I'm not pushing the card hard enough! I set the offset to +148, and power to 106%. I have yet to see power go over 100% or temps exceed 78c. Even after I changed the temp target to 90c. The boost does seem to fluctuate. At +148 I should be getting 1167mhz, but at times during the Heaven benchmark I was actually getting 1150mhz. In games though it seemed to hold at 1163. When it did drop it went to the fore mentioned 1150mhz. Got me wondering if I'm doing something wrong heh. Haven't even got to the memory yet.

Two of these in SLI is going to be straight overkill! Couldn't try NV Surround today, but will get to it tomorrow when the other card comes in.

They did the latter when I order a 680 from them last year, I had to cancel and order from EVGA themselves.

Got up to +161 offset, and did a small OC on the memory at +107 offset. Boost was at 1170ish, but ended up settling in at 1163mhz. Feel like I can easily get to 1200mhz.

This card is gonna beast under water.

You gotta show pictures! What color (hoping titanium :D)?

Remember that you'll need two 80mm fans below the GPUs as the stock 120mm blocks the slot for the second card. The Titans are also kinda radial cards so a fan right in front of it isn't 100% ideal, but I have no idea how right or wrong I am though, just telling you what I think could happen.

Edit: Wait a minute, a second Titan *might* actually fit with the 120mm fan installed. It's just a half an inch longer than the reference 680.

Slight derail, could you post up more pics of your case/parts looks pretty nice for such a cramped system.

Based on what you posted above Smokey, how can you say in SLI they would be overkill? If you had SLI, you would be hitting almost 60fps in all those games with the maximum eye candy settings at the resolution you play at.

Thing to remember is that we are only on the 1st set of drivers for these cards and we will definately see improvements.

Because one gets the job done very well even at 2560x1600 with high reasonably settings. Crysis 3 8xMSAA @ 2560x1600 is extremely demanding, and I wouldn't normally use it since the other options work just as well and with less of a hit. Same with Max Payne 3 8xMSAA. That's what I meant, but didn't communicate it very well. And besides in your case, even one Titan is overkill. I will continue to give you a hard time until you give in to 1080p 120hz!

Even with 2x Titans I doubt I'd get 60fps at the resolution with either of those at those settings. For Surround though, I'm gonna give these a work out.

Glad I didnt bite when I first saw these apparently at CeBIT the Manufacturers are going to be unveiling non reference cards eg MSi Lightning Titan http://videocardz.com/39939/msi-preparing-geforce-gtx-titan-with-twinfrozr-cooling

That would be nice. I love my 580 Lightning Extremes, hope it's true.

SLI definitely isn't overkill. One card may yield nice performance results, the benchmark showed a lot of room for performance improvement once you crank up a few settings. It's just a matter of knowing how to use it and it gives you a nice bit of headroom. I simply can't stand playing with and listening to an overworked card.

Well, I think with more mature drivers and improved SLI scaling that you could hit 60fps at the maximum settings, but that is just my opinion.

I am just glad you are enjoying your card and with better drivers, you resuls will be even higher.

I have to leave for Disneyland with the Fiancee in a few and only was able to connect and run a few tests with one of my Titans and had to go to bed. Will be gone for the next two days so pictures and SLI testing will need to wait till I get back.

Probably was not a wise idea to get engaged and get 2xTitans around the same time....lol. But obviously putting the Fiancee first since I am leaving my Titan's home alone for a few days. :)

If anyone else get's a Titan, please post results of your overclock and other benches. Really appreciate it!

Nice, hope Arctic Cooling makes one of their sweet GPU coolers for it. Wasn't too impressed with the last Twin Frozr card I had.
EKWB>Air.

Just head down to Ljubljana for a weekend. Get some good food, see the sights, eat some kremsnita, and stop by LDCooling and EKWB. You know you want to. :P

Speaking of SLI, I know that there is that setting in Precision for the 600 series cards called "K-Boost" where the card would run at max boost regardless of needs. It was usefull because for me with my 690, I would be getting only 50% utilization on each GPU, but for some reason was not getting 60fps. With K-Boost, it would push the card regardless to get maximum results.

Does the Titan and it's related software have such a thing?

Tis true. I was up until like late last night messing and playing, and excited to have the card, ramblings followed. You can always cram settings etc etc.

I thought I saw something like this in the voltage/tweaking menu yesterday? Will have to check later.

Also has nobody else ever received this stupid "nvwgf2um.dll" error? Killing my Titan vibe.

I don't have my cards just yet but the latest Titan compatible version of Precision X has a K-Boost option, so I'm 99% sure you can do it with the Titan as well.

On another note, just shot off an email to Arctic asking for their coolers. I'd really love to have one of those babies on my Titan. They were really, really good on my old AMD / ATi cards. Best third party coolers I've used.

WATER

(actually, I'm sure Dwood will be making brackets to use the H80/Asetek on these too)

Just moved house, no Internet, no pc only 3G on my phone. Glad to see peeps with their titans. Might be able to grab only locally tomorrow but unsure if I should go SLI this time around... What would MK do? :-]

Oh and that Parvum Case looks great but too bad it'll scratch like a beyatch!

I'm only going SLI when I can score one from Sk3tch after his inevitable backing off of 4-Way SLI :P

Yeah, that's the bitch about acrylic. The stuff they use isn't gloss though, it's more of a matte finish, so it's not quite as finicky as stuff like the old Danger Den cases.

Before I moved I was A/B testing single and multi-GPU mode on the 690 (Hawken) and I found that on a single GPU the game was running glassy smooth in areas which weren't so taxing like the start of the training level (indoors), there was also less input lag, but this was at a level which might be almost imperceptible to some or even nudging towards placebo territory. Still, I felt a difference. However, in wider open areas a single GPU although smoother still stutters and does not provide the kind of glassy smooth panning I got at the start. Also I had problems maintaining an 8.3ms frame time on a single GPU when SLI does it with ease. And with SLI I can downsample from 1440p which sharpens the entire image significantly providing competitive advantage in clarity while maintaining 8.3ms frame time (although less consistently than in 1080p). So basically they're both imperfect solutions; there are pluses and minuses with going single or multiple GPUs. Single GPU has less input lag and less stutter (although it isn't stutter-free), while SLI provides better clarity and more consistent frame times at the expense of input lag and (slightly) more stutter (no micro stutter afaik)... Choices choices!

Actually a single Titan might be perfect for Hewken but might not cut it for Crysis 3 :)

Edit: typing all that on the phone was hard, but it helped me decide: no SLI for now.
