NVIDIA to release GeForce Titan

I would say they are really an irrelevant number of people (especially because I believe that such setup gives you more problems than satisfactions) , but I admit that I do not have any data to sustain such "hunch".
The number of Titans being produced will be an irrelevant number. You think the 1,000 posts in this thread are all from unique users? It's about 15 really talkative people.

It's a niche product for a niche audience. This is not the first $1,000 GPU for that small market and it won't be the last.

I have my money ready. I am going to be coming from a 580 Sli set up if this does not suit me Im sure I can ebay the card for good money.

But you watch Australia wont get any.

In all it's GLORY!

the thing is that people will be unable, in real life and outside "benchmark/fps competitions", to notice the difference with a card that cost half of that.

Honestly I cannot think of one single scenario where it is a good idea to invest that kind of money for this card.....

+ 120 Hz = #YOLO

hmm no backplate = no cooling for RAM on the back ?

the GTX590 was the last Nvidia card with RAM on the back IIRC, that one had small cooling plates on the back because of that

That little annoying tumble dryer fan annoys me, looks like one of those awful stock fans that most GPUs ship with that make way too much noise :(

Okay, said I liked the Titan better but looking at them closely I'm torn ... They are both sexy designs, similar but each with their own flair. The 690 looks a bit sturdier and more sleek but the Titan has something sexy over it - Looks like a spaceship.

Seriously my only regret is that my 680 sli is 2gb. I would like to down sample and games like Cryis 3 were pushing over 2gb (although that was beta).

I was really hoping one Titan would be superior to 680 sli so I cold just buy one card and be done with it. But at these rumored prices, anything below my setup in performance just doesn't make sense (for me).

Curious that the actual performance improvement over a 680 is only supposed to be like 40-45%.

I'm actually not sure what to do now.

The 690 looks much better. The Titan just looks like a normal Nvidia/AMD reference card form factor and using higher quality materials.

I had a feeling that the leaked performance figures wouldn't be so, they were too good to be true.

Yeah, and that's basically always the case... but I still wanna believe it, dammit!

I assume that a 690, being a dual-GPU card, will have microstuttering issues?

Cuz honestly, I might just go with a 680. I'm building a new computer this week and if I can save a few hundred going that route... well, that's enough money that I can afford to buy that $1400 sub I've had my eyes on. And then Crysis 3 is going to be serious.

Fuck. Now this has me thinking of the possibilities.

I can't wait until that heatsink gets put into a closet. Needs more water, less air.
How disappointing, I was expecting LED lights.

You pay $899 that thing better flashing like an airstrip at night.
The green logo on the side lights up. Not kidding.

You don't *need* a Titan, of course. A 680 will run practically everything out there at 1080p/100+fps. So unless you want to downsample games like Crysis 3 (and future games) maxed out...or run on multiple monitors...or at least plan on playing at 120fps...you can save yourself a lot of money by buying a 670 or 680 or 7970/7950.

If you know your setup is ~1080p and 60Hz and downsampling doesn't interest you, pass on this.

I'd only be running a one monitor setup, but the biggest concern is that I'm probably going to nab a bigger display with a higher res than 1080p sometime in the next year.

Eh, but then, I suppose I can always upgrade when the real new shit comes out, cuz I'll be out of school, and a baller.

And even then I'd argue for the 670 over the 680 for most people :P

This is like GPU porn.

Insert it into the PCIe 3.0 slot...mmmm fuck yeah.
