Try out lightboost on the 2420Ts. If you like it, then I'd say yes. Otherwise we're talking fractions here.

Wow. My Asic is 75% & 65% for each card. I am amazed at your boost speed. One card tops out at 1175 and the other 1150. I don't have the dreaded throttling issues though and my cards max out at around the same temp wise as yours.

Mind sharing your settings for your cards as far as the OC? And what are you using to test to ensure stability?

Thanks g. Will do. I'll probably just wait until next year to upgrade monitors. Too much happening this year with IB-E and such. :)

Did you see my post in the last page? I posted some user-modded BIOS that the folks at Overclock.net setup and they've been having great results RE: throttling and OC.
 
I went for the Asus from NewEgg. Should be here Thursday to go with my new Dell Ultrasharp which looks great even powered by an old GT 8600. EVGA of course. I should have asked for a Step-Up for that card :)

And come on, 5/10 year warranty on a Titan? How many GPUs have you gone through in the last 5 years? :P

I've worked with ASUS and EVGA in the past few months - believe me, an RMA is NOT an RMA. Much, much smoother with EVGA - quicker, better support...mind you, it's perhaps 15-20% better...so it's not Earth-shattering...but between their forum, their people (EVGA_JacobF), and their support (U.S. staff, quick response, smart peeps) - I'm all in with EVGA.
 
Well, at least your loyalty hasn't clouded you too much to buy an EVGA mobo.

Here's hoping that new Black Edition X79 board isn't as terrible as everything after X58. They really need a home run to earn some cred back.

I read less issues with EVGA vs Asus regarding warranty RMA. Personally, I have only RMA once and that was to Asus because of original problem with the Intel LGA 1155 MB. It got corrected with a new MB v3 using shipped/hold charge then I returned the old one.

And, I have gone through 4 video cards in 3 years. Like, I said if I wanted to I can extend the warranty. After spending $1000, an extra $30-60 is relatively little. In the end, I probably won't because I do change video cards often enough, but others might not so I put it out there.

Haha. I almost bought a Z77 board when I was having PCIe 3.0 issues with X79...I'm almost that blind with EVGA! They've just always taken great care of me so what the hell. In the same vein, ASUS and MSI have been great, as well...just a bit more "impersonal." I'm a needy bitch! :)

EDIT: in fairness - EVGA has stepped it up with their mobos! I just think their QA may be a bit off.

What was wrong with the x58 black edition ?? ( I have one, just curious)
 
Nothing, their X58 boards are legendary (literally). The SR2 is still one of the most sought after pieces of tech out there.

The head honcho designer left for ASUS, and then they also scaled back their whole development team pretty dramatically.

It's been the P67/Z68/X79/Z77 boards that are awful. Plagued with tons of issues, constant BIOS failures, all sorts of icky stuff.
 
No no, I think Sethos is considering the XL2411T which has the same 144Hz panel in the new ASUS 144Hz monitor. It's a different monitor/panel altogether.
 
I personally like Evga because of the Customer Support. I have never had an issue with support and them doing things go above and beyond. A good example, when I got my 580 Classifieds, they had that little switch on the top of the card. I accidently broke it, my fault, no theirs but they still replaced the card for me, no issues. Every time I have a problem (not many) the support has been outstanding.

just found out that actually works in Windows on my XL2420T , but it doesn't show up in any games

unlike 2880*1620 60 Hz

still I'd rather just force some AA through inspector , as there is a pretty high chance the monitor goes into 3D mode when downsampling which results in pretty washed out colors and extreme brightness

My 3840x2400 doesn't show up in games either, I need to set the resolution on the desktop before games see it.

And heavy downsampling is far more effective than any AA you can apply. It's also less 'expensive' than the best AA methods.

Shame about the 3D mode though.

Hey, I've got a GTX 570 with a BenQ XL2420TX and I'm able to hit 3840x2160 at 30hz.

Here's my settings if it helps.

Normally, you can just alt+tab out and back into a game and it'll fix that issue.
 
But where is my 120hz 1440p IPS monitor? Where!?

That's pretty awesome though. I wonder how much Sethos would try to downsample on that still.
 
Will the card support 4k60 or 4k30?

I want a 4k monitor first. Currently my 580gtx is fine for my 3008wfp. A nice 4k monitor would certainly have me looking into a Titan.
 
I wouldn't bother down sampling with my 1440p monitor would I? I don't want to miss out but don't think it's something I need to do.


I have a corsair 850 power supply and the pci-e cables are 6 pin with 2 additional. Are those ok and considered 8 pin for my titan? The seemed almost be daisy chained off a another pair.

You never need to know, but it will make games look positively stunning.

Try out 3200x1800 @ 60hz, and if it works, you might love how it looks on your monitor.
