PCs of late 2006 will probably be faster than PS3 (perhaps not in bandwidth) in both cpu & gfx.

GFLOPS dont necessarily mean performance, and he never said the CPU exclusively for quite some time now the most proccessing power in a PC has been the GPU anyway.

It's a matter of cost. One of my friends has an Athlon64 machine with SLI Nvidia cards, and the works... total cost $2500 to put it together himself.

I'll just buy both the 360, and PS3 instead. I can't keep up with PC gaming anymore, and if BF2 plays even remotely as well on the consoles as his PC, I'm sold.

PC gaming is for the elite. The 360 seems like an absolute STEAL in comparison.

Meh you dont have to go balls out for a damn good pc rig, if you're talkin absolute retarded 1920x 1280 or whatever rez and 60 fps yeah ok you could drop 3-4k on a dual (dual processor) MB with 2gigs of ram for each processor dual 7800's and WD raptor drives. Even then i doubt the Cpu's could keep that video config fed tho. On the other hand you could just bite the bullet on the video card and get one thats like 500 bucks a raptor drive thats around 170 -180 a good MB is about 150-180, and a nice monitor thats about 319, 12ms LCD. And the amd64 3500 is like 220 Thats far from 2500 dollars and will run BF2 just fine if not great at 1280x720 especially if 60fps is what everyone is shooting for these days. Not to mention you could be a bit more productive with this PC than a console if you wanted to....
