I'm still in shock. Wu Tang and Rage was the best concert I've ever seen, and ODB had his little nephew up on stage rapping.

Horrible loss for the hip-hop community. They are "used" to losing guys in gun wars, this is a new type of tragedy. RIP bbj.

Yes, his early death certainly stopped him from passing his genes on.

is that a joke? he has like 15 children.. and when he got released from jail last year he was damn excited about making more babies..

i was at a bar with a good friend of mine when he got a text message from his girlfriend :: 'ODB is dead'

:(

There will never be a greater moment in TV history than the time he took a limousine to cash a welfare check after having already released a platinum album. RIP.

Good riddance, the welfare frauding, drug filled dead beat got what he deserved.

Just one less pice of filth in the shallow end of the gene pool.

It's days like this I thank Darwin for being right.
Yeah, looks like I was right about you being a bitter loser...

ANYWAY, yeah, he may have been a terrible person, but the humour and the sheer grossness of his welfare incident was brilliant. Seriously funny stuff. I liked his music too. I enjoyed the whole "in your face" disgusting gritty style he rapped with. It's almost as if he was spittting on me (not that I like that kinda thing) and I could smell the stink on his breath. Good stuff.

EDIT: It was pretty damn funny hearing the news correspondant on CNN Headline News say "Ol' Dirty Bastard" on the air. It seemed as if she had to force that one out. :lol

Wasn't there an incident at the Grammys involving ODB? As sad as it is he died, ODB had his vices that had a strong grip on him which alienated alot of people that really cared about him. Alot of the music he had was crap and nonsense, but like bish said, every now and then something would come out that was really good. I am not going to paint a picture of ODB as some saint or genius. I just think he was a guy who had talent, but let the drugs screw him up so bad that he turned into an intelligent freak.

But to say 'good riddance' when anyone dies (except for someone like Hitler), is taking things a bit too far.

The guy was a complete nutjob -- I'm STILL trying to parse out what he meant in some of his lyrics -- but he had mad style and helped get the Wu-Tang off the ground.

R.I.P., man.

Following a 1999 arrest for possession of crack cocaine, he reportedly asked the police to "make the rocks disappear" because it would hurt his standing as a role model. During one of his many court appearances, he called a female prosecutor a "sperm donor."

His rap sheet also included arrests for making terrorist threats, wearing a bulletproof vest, and involvement in a shootout with police.

Man, and just when the Wu had gotten back together.

Can't remember fully, but he ran onstage talking about "doing it for the children" and some other nonsense, then ran off

basically i think it was wu tang and puffy and some other people were up for a grammy for best rap album of the year or something and puff won and odb got on stage and was like "i spent too much on this suit to lose, puffy is cool but Wu tang is the best, Wu tang is for the Children! no disrespect to puff but Wu tang is for the Babies!"

or something like that, it was fuckin Classic...i Wish i Could get a downloadable clip of it, there has to be a clip of it somewhere on the internet..i googled it but couldnt find it, i suck at google tho.

peace
