I think the Bragging Rights match should be ok, as will Bryan vs Ziggler, if given enough time (and barring some shitty booking) - considering staying up to watch, but fear the double whammy of Undertaker vs Kane and Blandy Boreton will put me to sleep before the main event.

Yeah it would have been awesome with Heyman in control of TNA. Apparently Dixie agreed to everything he wanted except for the power to hire and fire people. They were even going to give the guy an ownership in the company. Most of the bloat on roster payroll that he wanted to cut probably just left with Sting and Nash. Oh well, TNA will probably be dead soon or be bought by WWE, since you know they would love to have the footage. This THEY thing was a last ditch effort and now there ratings are back in the shitter.

I suppose the undercard could be okay. Not really hyped at all for Ted-Goldie, I guess it's there to fill some time? But I actually think Layla-Nattie could be surprisingly entertaining. Bryan-Ziggler, needless to say, should be MOTN, but as you say, I fear it won't get the time it deserves. The two championship matches will definitely be boring as fuck, and while I love a lot of the talent in SD-Raw, it just screams clusterfuck... but who knows, they may be able to finesse it well. :lol

And reading all that TNA news just saddens me... I'm convinced that if they followed through with Heyman's plan (even without Heyman, just following what he set out to do) they'd be better off in the end, even just financially. Instead, they're just regressing to a state even worse than they were before Hogan arrived.

One wonders how much further they have to fall before Dixie ever sees the light, so to speak.
 
I think this pay per view will be good for a few reasons:

1. There has to be some kind of payoff with this Barrett-Cena thing, one way or the other. Either Cena snaps and beats the crap out of him or Cena helps him win the title. Either way, I'm interested.

2. The Bragging Rights match actually has some juice to it this year, unlike years past. Through I ultimately think Smackdown will self-desttuct, since half of them are feuding with each other, and oddly no one on the Raw team is feuding with anyone else on the team.

3. Buried Alive matches are what they are, but it will bring closure to the feud. I've heard speculation Taker is gonna take another few months off, which means a longer title run for Kane and a chance for Edge and maybe (dare I say it) Kofi to get into the title picture with Kane.

4. Ziggler / Bryan should be awesome, because they're both great in the ring. Yes I'm completely sold on Ziggles. He's awesome in the ring.

Well, that's enough reasons for me to lamp it up tonight, anyway.
 
I love how the promo picture of Reks is when he was a face on ECW. Why the hell did they replace Kaval with him? I mean when it first happened, I thought it was just to get heat on him, and Kaval would reclaim his spot next week in a rematch, but it never happened. Bragging Rights better open with Kaval doing a warrior's way on Reks from off the Titantron.

Anyways, predictions:

Goldust vs. Ted DiBiase: Well I didn't know this was a match until moments ago, but there's really no reason to give Goldy a PPV victory although he deserves it more than the autotune guy.
Winner: Ted DiBiase

Divas Championship: Layla vs. Natalya: Natalya is really the only legit contender for the title, especially when compared to the other faces. If you count McTaker's reign before she became co-champ with Layla, she's had the championship since June 2009 minus about a month. I think it's time for a new champion.
Winner: Natalya

Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler: This will most likely be the match of the night, but I foresee a typical screwjob finish and Ziggles taking advantage. Dragon will still bring the house down though, and probably Labell someone after the match ends.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler

World Heavyweight Championship: Kane vs. Undertaker (BURIED ALIVE): Who would have thought Kane would squash the Undertaker for months? Taker needs time off to prepare for his match against Brock Lesnar at UFC 130, so Kane will easily take it here.
Winner: Kane

WWE Championship: Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett: WHAT WILL CENA DO? I'm a huge Barrett fan as most of us here are, but I still think it's a bit too early to put the belt on him, especially since they just gave it to Orton who is the only one who could possibly challenge Cena's popularity. Orton has been pushed to the moon the past few months and it would be strange to kill his momentum here.
Winner: Randy Orton

Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown: Whooooo cares? Last year had a pretty good storyline with Show and Jericho, even if it was a bit predictable. But seriously, what's the storyline for this year? Nothing, that's what. Miz is on Raw so uh yeah, let's just pick that.
Winner: Team Raw

[Edit] It's interesting to compare last year's brand match with this ones. It's funny to think how much has changed in a year:

Team Raw 2009: Triple H (inactive), HBK (retired), Show (Smackdown), Cody Rhodes (DASHING), Kofi Kingston (Smackdown), Jack Swagger (Smackdown, became World champ), and Mark Henry (replaced by other big scary black guy)

Team Smackdown 2009: Jericho (inactive/retired), Kane (world champ), R-Truth (Raw, more crunk), Matt Hardy (TNA/mental asylum), Finlay (possibly dead), Hart Dynasty (about to break up)

I guess they thought they'd give Reks some legitimacy by beating an NXT season winner, while forgetting that they've made Kaval look like a chump, so there's no legitimacy to be had.

No idea, but he's got a book coming out, which I guess explains his recent push - not that i'm complaining, i'd much rather see Goldust on the undercard than Ted DiBiase...oh, wait. Crap. I'm hoping there's a Cody vs Goldust feud somewhere down the line.

The problem with Heyman wanting to hire and fire people without anyone over him to approve the decision is he could completely jack the company and do whatever he wanted with it while not having any personal stake aside from his paycheck. It's easy to play with someone else's money when your ass isn't on the line.

It seems like such a moot point anyway. Outside of Kevin Nash, Hogan and Bischoff, who wouldn't even be forced out anyway if Heyman took over, the roster isn't a big issue. Everyone has settled well into their places outside of those guys. The problem is booking. Heyman should have directed all of his attention to fixing the booking with their current roster.

EDIT: Everyone's been proclaiming doom and gloom for TNA for years. They're not going anywhere. They're getting solid ratings where they're at and have cut out a nice niche for themselves.

Well their house show numbers are still bad and they are not experiencing any growth despite bringing in some big names that should have increased ratings. A company that has been in business over 8 years with their roster should be drawing bigger numbers to shows. I think their marketing department is largely to blame also.

Part of what he wanted was a 10% share in the company and be able to build up the company to the level where it could have an IPO so he could then make lots on that 10%. His whole interest in the company (from a financial standpoint) was about owning a share of the company himself and then growing the company to the point where his stake would be really valuable.

As you said, the marketing is partly to blame. Many people don't even know TNA exists. A friend of mine who runs an independent promotion here said all professional wrestler, whether they're TNA or indie, have to break free from the WWE mold, for whatever reason. Some people don't like WWE's product, and associate everything else in professional wrestling with them. Others like WWE and think that's all they need.

TNA's chance was to break out with a little more harder edged production with interesting storylines and wrestlers that could help bring in that dedicated old WCW audience. Hell, it was originally started by a bunch of WCW castoffs. But through shit booking, a lack of mainstream penetration and half-hearted attempts at literally taking it to the WWE, they've managed to fall into a distant second. But as I said, they've still cut out a decent niche for themselves.

But was he buying in or was Dixie going to hand it over to him as compensation for coming on board? I'm looking at it from Dixie's point of view where this guy can shake up the company, but he sure wants a lot to do it. Full control of personnel management is nothing to scoff at. And if he's not going to invest his money into it, there's nothing for him to lose. It's not like he's hurting for money right now.
