Assuming this one is on everything. Day 1 for me.
From some French site.A new Octopath Traveler game to be announced soon?

Sounds good. Hopefully they make it Play Anywhere. 1 and 2 are. From some French site.
2 2D-HD-slop announcements back to back
Are the graphics as ugly as the previous games?

You definitely should, it's fantastic, and God damn is the music amazing in it.One of these days I gotta get around to at least beating the 2nd one.
Looks like building, and maybe some kind of giant army team battles? Could be a lot of large recruiting or something. So there's building or farming, or whatever involved? I'm in as long as combat is turn-based.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales. What was the name of that action HD-2D game? I can't see a thread for it
Dark Souls is not slopI'm super hyped for this. Octopath Traveler 2 is a masterpiece.
I was a bit surprised this didn't have a better reaction in the direct thread. I mean, did you not play Octopath 2, lol? Also, why is there hate for 2D-3D HD and why it is slop? Those are some of my favorite games...
Don't get me to talking about the slop that yall play. I suppose there's no accounting for tastes.

So like in most RPGs? If Octo is repetitive, I hope you hate Persona's guts.the problem with Octo is that gameplay/combat is way too much repetitive
i m having a really rough time with Metaphor is that matters, also, Persona is more like a slice of life RPG than a full traditional RPG like Octo.So like in most RPGs? If Octo is repetitive, I hope you hate Persona's guts.
I'm interested, buuuuut... I saw some town-building sections and I realllllly hope they're completely optional.
My takeaways from the trailer:
-Since it's called 0 and Orsa is mentioned they are probably going deep into the lore of the Gods and Galdera the true final boss of Octo 1 and 2
-Character Creator means you no longer choose a character to begin the journey, I also wonder how this will affect narrative choices and the path you choose on the world map
-The 8 party member battles look insane, character building will probably be amazing in this game
-Village Rebuilding like in Dark Cloud!?
-The cast seems to be a combination of Octo 1, Champions of the Continent and OG characters, I didn't see anyone from Octo 2 (probably because the game takes place in Orsterra)
I think these games are a lot better than Persona, personally.i m having a really rough time with Metaphor is that matters, also, Persona is more like a slice of life RPG than a full traditional RPG like Octo.
So is Fantasian. It's a red flag, but doesn't fully rule it out being good.I read that it is the expanded port of the mobile one, that's why it reminded me of it... pass
the problem is that Persona has the social down time between all the repetitiveness, Octo don't, so the combat feels way more repetitive and static for me.I think these games are a lot better than Persona, personally.
I could see that I guess. It's more reminiscent of SNES old school JRPGs that were basically just grinding and exploration only.the problem is that Persona has the social down time between all the repetitiveness, Octo don't, so the combat feels way more repetitive for me.
Can you rephrase this post without all the snark and butthurt? I honestly can't tell what point you're trying to make.Of course they would announce another one, after all, once the engine stands, it's a simple click-together-job as in RPG Maker and there you go, another Octopath Traveler and there you go another $60 easily earned!
Now Square-Enix also can see how turn-based still pays out!
Oh it's gonna be only on Nintendo Switch?
Pah! That's what they said for the first two installments as well.
