Somebody posted plenty of UE4.4/SDK0.4.1 demos on the Oculus dev forums. I'm currently downloading the Landscape glider one, hopefully it works - looked so good in the video.

Good stuff. I just tried the Landscape glider demo but I can't get rid of the "oculus warning" that just sits there in my face.. anyone..?

Edit; Shit, didn't see the post above..

The only thing that has fixed stutter in a few things for me with some of the demos is to disable literally every single monitor on the system except the Oculus, and start the game on the Rift itself. This is a challenge since you can barely see your desktop but with some careful maneuvering it's possible.

Half Life 2, for example, cranks out 200+ FPS at all times but stutters like mad unless I do this.

Yup did this and it worked. Not very ideal, but at least I enjoyed Titans of Space in glorious quality.

Does anyone know a command to reset player height in Unreal demos.. Im always at the wrong height in these demos, feel like a mouse..

Bummer that you have to change the OR to the main display to remove shudder, but least it's a work around for the time being, hopefully steam can fix with the next update.

Is there a short cut button in windows to swap displays around, as I thought all windows key+arrow key does was move the game to the next display and not actual swap displays from primary to secondary?

If you set the rift as your main display, all the opened windows will be opened automatically on that display and we can't see anything. So the solution is to select the windows that you want to see and win+arrowkey it to the secondary display so we can select things or open apps.

There is a text file supplied that has various commands in it. Maybe you want to try
hmdpos reset Resets forward direction and 'zero' position
or
hmdpos reset -37 Resets forward direction and apply yaw rotation (in degrees) and 'zero' position

Thank you, I'll try that later.

It seems like none of the unreal demos, except the mobile one, is running constant 75fps on my 3770k/660 ti.. Lots of judder where I can't even make sense of it.

Anyway, I'm hoping for an Elite Dangerous update to 0.4.1 soon..

Yeah, it's hard to hit 75fps in UE4. Granted, I have a 7870 but still - not hitting a constant 75fps on low with 0.5 screen percentage is disheartening lol.

The landscape glider demo is pretty cool tho, wish headtracking was used to control the glider but as is you can atleast look around :)

Damn the Landscape glider demo is good. But i need to run it on low settings so i didnt get an judder when looking around, odd thing is i can have it on the highest settings and if im just moving the glider about the frame rate is smooth but as soon as i move my head i get terrible judder.

After seeing this they need to make a Superman and Battle of Hoth demo

Is sightline really demanding spec wise? I'm experiencing terrible judder during the birds scene.
I want cyclops simulator. Shooting eyebeams should be a fun experience.

Mine is shipping in the next batch. Any ideas how long that takes? I'm hoping to have it by next week.

Depends when the next batch is ready(I suspect they have weekly batches). My order was processed the 10th, was told my Rift was in the next batch, got shipment notification the 13th, it was shipped on 14th. If you get shipping notification tomorrow, you'll likely receive your order by friday, if not then the week after I'm afraid.

Is it possible to use the PS Move controllers as an alternative to the Hydra? I'd like to be as hands free as possible.

My DK2 stopped working after running Config Tool twice. I had ConfigTool running, then I accidentally started another instance of it, and the DK2 doesn't work anymore. Even though the yellow light on the DK2 is on, and I can update the firmware, the configtool says "No Device Attached" and nothing works. Help!

SightLine performs considerably better than SightLine: The Chair, but I can't maintain 75 in either. The Chair is pretty much the worst performing demo for me, which is such a shame because it's one of the best and would be first choice to show off the DK2 if it was smooth. F will show your framerate, it drops below 50fps here.

The chair is friggin insane at some parts. Too bad I'm having terrible judder.

Btw, the UE4 coaster demo environment looks absolutely beautiful.

Yeah I also get judder when the birds show up during Sightline: The Chair. Aside from that though, it's pretty solid performance wise and is really an impressive showpiece.

I'm very pleased by Notch's new take on Minecraft for the Rift. My stomach ties up in knots when working up high in Minecraft on a standard display, and I cannot imagine how parts of that game would be in VR.

Also on the subject of "I can't imagine how that would be in VR" I was discussing P.T. with a friend yesterday and I think games like that are going to cause genuine harm to some people when experienced inside VR. Good lord.

I honestly think I would die or go insane if I tried to play something like that in VR. I sure as hell wouldn't be sleeping well for a while, at the very least.

I also can't wait for Minecrift DK2.

And yes, I totally agree. HL2 and Ocean Rift are uncanny enough to make me feel uncomfortable, I wouldn't go a step further.

Yeah no, I won't go further in HL2. This perfect black of the display is freaking me out for some reason, it's so uncanny. Pity, I sorta got used to the keyhole controls by now and it felt pretty good.

...and there wouldn't be a way to possibly send that resolution to the device, unless Oculus is also going to get into the video card industry and the display adapter industry. Both HDMI and DisplayPort have specific resolutions and framerates in their standards, and neither HDMI 2.0 nor DisplayPort 1.3 are due out any time soon.

18Gbps HDMI 2.0 chipsets have been available in consumer products for at least a month or two. Pioneer and Denon's latest AVR's are fully capable of 4k/60 4:4:4. Vizio's forthcoming P-series 4k TV, already in production and slated to launch next month, will also supposedly handle native 120hz 1080p and 4k/60 4:4:4

Have you tried Bilago's unofficial service manager? I was having a lot of trouble early on, and this little badboy cleared up just about everything.

You can get it here.

EDIT: Be sure to run as administrator, and end all Oculus and Logitech driver processes before opening it.

You know what's strange? In some games/demos the screen-door effect and the pixels are extremely visible. In others it's a non-issue.

In LFS everything is clear and readable. Amazing.

I haven't tried it yet, but I Sublevel Zero is supposed to be an "homage" to Descent 1/2.

If you do try it, let me know how it is.

Just played it now for half hour and its really enjoyable, nice simple graphic design that's not too complicated for a rift game. Theres no judder effect in sight and didn't feel nauseous at all!. My only criticism is that there only one audio track that plays over and over. I wonder if it could be altered to play Descent music

Just tried. Still says "No Device Attached" :(

Can you play oculus rift games while being drunk?
Yes, but like real life, certain things will be better, and certain things will be much worse!

I imagine this is from playing a demo that runs really smoothly and is very responsive, meaning that the immersion is overwhelming and you simply forget about technical shortcomings like screendoor. I don't see how you can reduce the appearance of something physical like screendoor through software.
