Limbo? So it's like that black&white game? I forget the name

So it's like that black&white game? I forget the name
No, wha- No its like that Abe game... from 1997...Limbo?
Or more likely Inside, from the same studio.
My biggest complaint with New n Tasty was that it never had the same dark look as the original. It looked better technically but i found the almost complete lack of light sources as you leave Rupture Farms in the original sooo much better. As an OG Oddworld fan (still waiting for that quintology to be completed) I am both excited, but also a bit skeptical. I liked New n Tasty overall, but still felt like it was a bit of a downgrade from the original game, and this doesn't look that different from New n Tasty.
Not sure how I feel about looting and crafting, as for me part of the charm of the originals was it's simplicity, but hopefully it's optional, and although I do like the look of those darker areas in the trailer (reminds me a lot of the original's art style), other area's are still very bloomy, although it does look like they toned it down from the last game.
Regardless, I hope this is a success, because I do love this franchise and would love to see more of it. For those who missed out, check out the OddBox on Steam, all of them still hold up really well.
Yeah I agree. For those who are interested, this video does a really good job of showing the differences:My biggest complaint with New n Tasty was that it never had the same dark look as the original. Free on PS+ just like New 'n' Tasty was, nice.
But also makes me wonder how performance will be compared to the PC release.

ONLY for PS5 owners, fucking PS4 legacy owners again, fucking Sony.Free on PS+, that's quite a surprise.
Sure, it does, but it could have been better, and it's because of that feedback that they've made significant changes to the art style for the sequel, which is how things are supposed to work. Not sure what art style and animations have to do with accessibility though.Yes, New n Tasty is no better than the original, but it is a more accessible version for today's audience and even with that different look, it still has some beautiful levels.
That is not how you use the word 'literally', don't be so dramatic. Besides, change just for the sake of change isn't a good thing, especially when it concerns a remake of an existing game. There's a chance that if you change too much, the spirit of the original is lost. But I'm waiting to see how things work out, being skeptical of something doesn't mean that my mind is made up.Lorne Lanning himself is literally leaving his life in this game, I think there are not many reasons to be skeptical, and you have to open your mind in certain aspects, you cannot make a sequel and make it the same as the previous game, you have to add new elements , make the game more complex, deep, replayable, etc.
That is the problem with many fans, who lock themselves in the idea that the sequel has to be a carbon copy of the original game, that kills the creativity, it does not make sense in a medium like this to be so conservative.
thats what im talking about. My childhood right here. Can't wait.
sony is trying to sell ps5sONLY for PS5 owners, fucking PS4 legacy owners again, fucking Sony.
You can go on the website and add them to your library without owning a ps5. The PS COLLECTION is the only thing you have to own a ps5 for I believe.ONLY for PS5 owners, fucking PS4 legacy owners again, fucking Sony.

It's a shame that it's too colorful like the new one, I much preferred the old grittier OddworldLoved the old PlayStation game.
Played New N Tasty on Switch recently.
Downloading this just now and looking forward to playing it.
Sad to see how the industry just seems to run on hype these days and potentially good games like this fly under the radar because they aren't big budget blockbusters with influencers clamouring to perpetuate and ride that wave of views and clicks.
I dunno. It looks OK to me.It's a shame that it's too colorful like the new one, I much preferred the old grittier Oddworld
Oddworld was never about platforming challenges, it was always more about knowing how to approach a situation than the execution. Like Another World or Flashback. The framedrops on the PS5 and occassional bugs are disappointing, but I remember that the previous game was far from polished as well. The actual gameplay is fun and I don't mind the focus on crafting and using items in general, but I feel like that completing platforming sections is not a challenge now because of the double jump.
