Official Fable II Thread

Augh. How do you get your dog to perform tricks? I've read books that give him some tricks, but when I go to the expressions menu, none of them can be found under dog.

halp :(

I haven't even played the game and I know this:lol
You've got to show him the tricks. He learns them from you

You need to perform expressions yourself to get your dog to do the expression. For example, point and laugh will get your dog to pee on the targeted individual. It should say so when you use it, like there's a pop-up stating which expression to use for the dog to perform that trick.

I thought (I haven't played much yet, been finishing Dead Space first) that the tricks are more of a response to what you do. ie. To get the dog to hop I did a dance.

I could be wrong but I thought thats how it went.

You do the expression, he reacts to it

His tricks are tied to your expressions, he'll perform tricks when you do certain expressions.

No Kidding. I'm not leaving Bowerstone until I own every damn piece in there.
Nothing will escape my grasp, not even the children.

I got a Hammer with an augment that lowers the damage and scarring you take. Forget the name. Not even sure it's legendary but I found it in a demon door.

General demon door question:
do any of them have dungeons behind them, or are they all just chests w/ items? I opened the one in the cemetery, and there was just a chest out on a platform w/ a couple items. For some reason I was expecting a bit more.

I finished the game last night. I think I did so with a reasonably high completion rate. Sure, there is a bit left for me to do (4 silver keys, 4 gargoyles left, a few expressions) but I completed all the side quests I had been given up to the end, opened all the Demon Doors, achieved 5 stars on all of the jobs, and I own at least 95% of the purchasable real estate in Albion(I may have missed a building here or there accidentally). I certainly did not rush through anything. Anyway, it took 34 hours.

Very nice, I have put in an easy 20 hours so far and probably not even half way through the main quest line as I've been doing all kinds of stuff on the side. Also, pretty sure I saw that certain quests do not open up until you finish the main questline IIRC.

Thats good to know. Post game stuff is always nice. I know good, evil, and possibly neutrality affect quests, but what about purity and corruption? Or are those purely cosmetic?

This may have been covered earlier in the thread but will this game be considered in the running for Top of Xbox Live list? With all of the Live functionality you would think so.

This is true. There are at least two quests that you cannot finish until after the end of the game (one of them being the archaeology quest line), and I've experienced two new quests since then as well (though one of them would only be available if you choose "Love" at the end I think).

quick demon door question:

the one that wants meat - how exactly do I give him the meat? I have a ton on me, can't gift it. Tried eating a bunch. Maybe I just need to be fatter?

No. The list isn't returning for a few weeks until NXE is released. Gears 2 will be out by then.

Hint: Notice the chickens running around near that door? They are there for a reason.

Here to join the "Fable 2 killed my Xbox" club. Or maybe just terrible timing, as I was enjoying the hell out of the game. At least Fallout 3 is coming out on PS3 as well so I can still play it and LBP. But damn, this sucks.

A question for when I can play again: When people have gifts, I can't figure out how to get the bar to slid to the gift. The top bar is the one with the hearts, the middle with the skull, but what is the bottom bar? I can't figure out what those symbols are nor can I seem to get the people to reach with those symbols. Do you need to learn certain special actions to get that later or something? I tried for like half an hour to get some monk with a gift to give it up, but could never even get that third bar to budge.

Picked this up yesterday, played for a few hours, it's very cool.

I'm playing as a girl, and I went in to town and came across some whore in an alley. So I farted on this whore a bunch of times until she was in love with me, and then she started following me around. I wandered in to some guy's house and I was really jonesing for it so I decided I was going to fuck this whore right then and there on this guy's bed. So after I have unprotected sex I wake up and of course the guy who owns the house is pissed and starts shooting at me so I have to take him out, but then my whore girlfriend starts shooting too!

I don't know what happened!? I tried farting on her a bunch more times cause that's what she's in to but it didn't work. She just stayed red and kept shooting at me? So I had to take the bitch out. :(

What did I do wrong?! I loved her... ;_;

Did you cheat at the pub game?

I'm not trying to kill anyone's buzz. I just feel a little alienated by this game.

Perhaps it is not for you?

I adore this game. I disagree with the badly written plot - it's okay. Definitely no worse than the abortion that was Final Fantasy Crisis Core's plot.

As for your hardcore Western RPG, I don't know who does those anymore. I loved Way of the Samurai on PS2. An amazing little game. The word hardcore definitely applies. But read an FA on the combat first or you'll get continuously raped

I'm glad I only had 250 gold from the pub game, it's going to make this game very long I've already played for approx 10 hours and I only have 1 house and like 16000 gold, 2 wives and 2 kids, I put my barmaid wife in my gypsy camp because she wasnt worthy of a house. At first I had this aristocrat chick follow me around but I couldnt afford to buy a house that pleased her...and that's after shelling out 800 for a ring.

Merguson said:

No, absolutely not. I didn't even transfer in all that much money from the pub games. I don't recall how much it was exactly, but about 50k I think. I won a lot playing Fortune's Tower tournaments and then lost most getting the achievement for the stupid Spinnerbox games. By the time I pre-ordered and got the Pub Games the exploit had actually been fixed.

Buying all of the real estate in the game doesn't cost NEARLY as much as Peter said it would (no surprise there, $100 million, hah). Excluding the one extremely expensive home, all the rest will only tally up about $2 million in gold. Considering that I had to earn $100k just to master all three jobs, which I then immediately put in to investing in all the low cost/high return vendor stalls, making enough to buy all the houses is easily possible in the normal course of the game if you play through the side quests and start investing early on.

I curious about how far I am through the main plot line
I just finished the crucible quest
If someone who has finished the game could let me know it would be appreciated.

Fuck it, I'm going for the real estate (no glitching in pub games) then play the quest. Gypsy Camp will be mine for the taking when I get home.

Same here, I think that alone has added so much more time to my experience thus far. Actually working for a living.

What do you have to do to win booty at the Crucible after the first time? Do you need 8 of 8 perfect rounds, or is it based on total time?
The room with the bandits on the bridge and the last room with the troll I can never seem to finish under the goal time.

HAHA I thought you were going to ask something else since I see them get hearts over their wee little heads when I'm done dancing or playing the little lute thingy.

I just finished the arena quest where you have to fight through the 8 rounds vs different enemies that come in waves.
If someone who has finished the game could let me know it would be appreciated.

Give or take? I'd say about two-thirds of the way through. Perhaps a bit less.

For the room with the bandits, get on the bridge and stay on the bridge. The ones who spawn below it will come to you. For the other, I have no idea. I suck at fighting those things. That's the only room I can't perfect.

Started the game last night and am really loving it so far. The big issue I have is the framerate. It's not terrible by any means but it's low enough that the game feels sluggish. Not nearly as responsive as I'd like.

I'm having trouble donating to the temple of light~

I try a donate 10K between 12-1pm and they guy says i've donated enough but nothing happens and the quest is still active...

help~

Did you get the prize? The quest remains active, but if you got the prize that is all you can do for now.

What do I need to complete the challenge the second time---is it based on perfect rounds, or total time. I've been getting 6 of 8 perfect rounds, and my best time so far is 825 seconds.

You have to get all 8 perfect rounds. So far I haven't done it.

Same. Not sure what enjoyment people are getting from using the pub glitch and being wealthy right off the bat. It's no different than using a cheat code that gives you more money.

The charm, dialog, and story really are what make me like this game so much where I couldn't stay interested in the first Fable. I have a smile on my face almost continually messing around in town. Good call GAF!!
