Official Fable II Thread

I'm in Bloodstone and -- well, I'm pretty hooked on this game. :lol

Some bloke kicked my dog twice when I entered. Needless to say, I had to kill the bastard. Everyone around me started shooting and swinging at me, and, needless to say - they had to go as well.

Now everyone is calling me "murderer". That son-of-a-bitch shouldn't have kicked my dog! You mess with my dog, YOU DIE! :lol

I read somewhere that there are some quests which are tied to certain houses, and only when you buy them can you unlock the missions. Which means I'll have to go looting to buy up all the houses in the game!

All I own so far are two houses in Bowerstone market (one is my marital home, one is rented out) as well as the jewellers, produce, pie, drinks and fish traders. Think I'm going to have to dig deep and buy myself one of the proper shops as I'm not getting that much income from my business interests so far.

edit: Oh yeah, aside from the barber shop in Bowerstone Market is there any other place in the game that lets you change your hair/beard/moustache?

I really am stunned by it's awesomeness.
Yeah. It's definitely the first game that Lionhead have produced that has the old Bullfrog magic. It's amazing. I keep struggling for appropriate superlatives, but it's easily my favourite game of this year so far, and it's the best RPG-like-thing I've played in years. I can't believe how much fun I'm having with it, and by how funny it is, how intelligent and gorgeous, and completely unique, and serious and tragic and meaningful. I said wow.

I'm glad to see so many other people enjoying this game as much as I did (I was one of the lucky few who got it a week early).

Quality game.

Once you've beaten the game and have a baby is it at all possible for it to age or does it stay the same?

There's not another event or quest that
passes the game time ten years like The Spire is there
, or does the baby age naturally?

Forgive the poor quality, took with my phone.. :/

so i was trying to back to the fable 2 site to do the story and get the chicken suit again but i can no longer find that section of the site.

i guess it's been removed???

Is there a way to move marital homes?

I think I glitched myself. When I upgraded my first house, I gave a ring to my wife again and it let me switch the house...but I could not rent out or sell the first house. now I purchased a bigger house and chose to just move in instead, but it did not bring my family with me, it no longer allows me to sell either.

So now I'm at 100k in houses with my family in the wrong one and no freakin revenue coming in :lol

I appear to be stuck at about 90% evil... no matter how many guards I kill it doesn't appear to change. Anything else I should be doing? I'm getting about 50 evil points for every guard killed, but it's obviously not enough.

Temple of shadows is gone, so I can't sacrifice anyone.

Well, I beat it last night, and this game is waaaay better than Fable 1. Love it, it was a glitching fucking mess though!
I had the same glitch last night as with my first wife. I did the
The Rescue Quest
and my wife fucking disappeared again. I wanted to move them to the castle, now I have 3 kids and no wife :(. Also the time clock is so wrong, though not a problem I'm anal about knowing how much time I put in games, especially RPG's. I'm also thankful it didn't RROD my system, I'm waiting for my main one to come back from repair's, this disc really put the work on the laser! Over all this was a great game, it needed about 5 more big towns though, just didn't fell big enough! The glitches almost ruined it for me, but I'm glad I bought it, just need to get 4 or 5 more achievements. NOW its TIME for FALLOUT 3!!!! :)

picking up either this or fallout 3 once i finish dead space. getting both eventually, but i'm probably just going to flip a coin to see which one is next on the playlist.

So I got my first STD. Except it was from my gypsy wife who I only had sex with twice. Once to make the baby before
the spire
and once when
I got back from the spire 10 years later
. The rotten ho must have slept around on me while I was away cause she was clean before I left. Come on
10 years
isn't too long! :lol

God, this game is so damn good.

Like, absurdly good. And I wasn't even a fan of Fable 1.

It's a shame about the technical side but yes, I totally agree. Haven't been hooked on a game like this in a long time. There is just so wide a variety of things to do, and so much going, I've barely touched the main quest.

Does anyone have a female character that doesn't look like a roid freak in the later part of the game?

Sounds like you've upgraded the physique to full. If you don't like it you can lower the level (just push Y on it in the abilities), it just means some of your weapons won't hit with as much force if I remember right.

Beat it last night, what an amazing game.

The end left a lot of opportunites for some DLC missions, and I hope they are working on some kind of level/expansion pack. Now that I've finished the main quest, I'm going to work on becoming the Slum Lord of Albion.

The game is a fucking glitchy fest. My dog is gone, I restarted, I tried fast travelling, I've done everything and he won't show up. Just like that. What the fuck. SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE FUCK. After 16 hours of enjoyment this stupid asshole-glitch came by. Did the developers actually tested the game before shipping? all these glitches shouldn't be in a game like Fable.

If there's no workaround for this I'm selling it tomorrow.

Try doing the praise emotion for the Dog. If he is somewhere still in the game world that should hopefully bring him to you. I've found doing that is like calling him, and afterwards if you play with the ball or give him treats from time to time it should make him happier and make him run out in front of you rather than dawdling behind you.

The only glitch I have encountered so far is my dog getting stuck in the scenery during the very first mission. Once I quit and reloaded he came back again. Usually when I can't see him its because he's gotten injured, I haven't noticed and left him the otherside of Brightwood. He usually comes back when I quick-transport somewhere.

Knowing my luck I'll boot up the game later and find everything in the world has disappeared! :lol

It's nice to play an RPG that has some focus on the actual "role playing" part.
Yup. It's partly why I'm loathed to read this thread. The experiecne seems to tailored to me, and how I'm playing that even reading how Albion is developing for other people seems like spoiling.

I just beat the first boss if you can call it that...who was blocking the village. There were some people locked up in a cage they told me to go to the hut to get the key. I couldn't find the key...

Anyone know how you open up the cage?

Did you look in the chest?

SO... how about the questing? How does it compare in quality and quantity to, say, Oblivion or Morrowind, or Zelda for that matter?

Questing's probably my biggest draw to any RPG, MMO or otherwise.

Am I missing something? I'm now at the point in the game where I'm able to travel to
the Spire with Hammer
and I haven't found Bloodstone or the Wraithmarsh yet. Should I have unlocked these places already? And if so, where do I find them?

Not as much as Oblivion, way way more than Zelda. There's a decent amount to do between quests and jobs like Bounty Hunter or if your evil Civilian Displacement.

Its got Zelda's quality and Oblivions intelligent mission structure. Wrapped in Monty Python humour and charm.

Im not too far into the games story (10 %), but i've already spent 12 hours doing nothing but messing around. I have 3 jobs trying to support my baby boy and lovely wife.

This game is so troubling. I loved the first one's story so much more. I finally finished the story line playing a good nice, noble guy the whole time. Never killed anyone etc. At the end
I picked sacrifice
. Ever since that choice
with the loss of my dog,
I felt such loss and lack of closure. I got upset, killed as much of bowerstone that would come at me for 30 minutes and set my xbox date ahead 3 or so years to get my million and buy the castle. Thank god it was a rental and I will move on to Fallout 3 when I take it back tomorrow.

Was a fun game for the most part, but I think I went the wrong way with the ending.

I thought it was an interesting way to take the whole morality quandary thing. We're used to being awarded for doing the "right thing," but
this game takes it the other way entirely by making the good choice the most costly
. One thing I particularly liked/loathed was the
dark seal quest because, as gamers, we are (generally) very much tied to the appearance of our character. Having to sacrifice your personal appearance in order to make the just choice actually made me wonder which way to go.

I have to say that
the three choices at the end felt sort of hollow. Well, not all three, but the last choice seemed a bit silly in comparison to the other two. Having to take the sacrifice ending of course made me pretty angry, but it felt like the right choice to make. After all, I sort of missed Bob.

Change your Xbox Date > insta cash?

Finished the story. I thought the ending was amazing. Really fucking unconventional but it worked.

My hero looks like a monster. She's 100% good and 100% pure but she's scarred, wrinkly and has glowing red eyes. Not to mention she's incredibly ripped and is about a foot taller than any other character in the game. I put a pink dress on her to make her appear somewhat feminine :)

I've got some more quest so I'll do those. Also, I have 51 silver keys, found an extra one in the Wraithmarsh. It kinda bugs me that there's no chests that require 25 or more keys. For the DLC, I suppose :)

Status update: my eyes are back to normal! hurray! she's still a hideous beast tho

Any word if they are doing a bug patch soon?

I havent been able to play a single multi-hour session without the game freezing up on me.
Not to mention I got the furniture bug, and the glitch where some of the Expression icons stay on the screen even after you exit the wheel. Argh.

Plus the game locks up whenever I try to let a co-op in my game.

Spend the good part of the weekend playing till 4am and I just barely got to bloodstone.

Is there a reason the tattoo shop in bloodstone is not for sale? I can't see the property notice for it anywhere.

Are there more towns after bloodstone? I have like 2 million just sitting there and it kind of burns me that there is nothing to spend it with.

Also, I have to say that fable 2 is like a mini silent hill. Why the hell is it so scary lol. I swear some of these ambushes are not fair!

Yesterday, I spent about 20 minutes sliding around. I could move and fight, but I never changed from a standing stance. It finally unstuck in a fight, but it was weird for a while. I even dove into some water and swam for a bit, but I was still gliding. That was a strange glitch.

Really enjoying the game. First thing i did was sex up some random gypsy bitch. And then i found me a real women to settle down with. Actually i cant tell if shes hot or not but i never see her anyways.

After i finally went back to visit the wife i was standing in my "wagon house" and like 4 women came barging in and standing around and ruining my sex life. So after trying to make them mad i just decided to end the problem permanently.

I turned the safety off and pulled out my sword and took those hoes out with a few swipes. Problem solved. So i went back in the trailer to see my wife and i had thought i turned the safety back on but apparently it didn't take. So I hit Y for some reason and the bitch got a cross-bow to the chest!!!! :lol :lol :lol :lol I couldn't stop laughing, i thought she was dead but she got back up a few seconds later with a arrow in her chest and was taking care of the baby. :lol :lol :lol :lol

You have to own a couple of properties, but then yes. You make money even when your xbox is off, so if you set it a year ahead you get around 100-400 thousand gold.

Not sure about the very best, but it's certainly up there.

Really a fantastic game. I'm really enjoying it, and I feel as if I've barely scratched the surface (I've only done two main quests).

lol, so I can just buy up all the property... set my Xbox date ahead 30 years... and get the 100 point achievement...

lulz

It's the most fun I've had at least. Fallout 3 will probably win greatest RPG. Mass Effect could've easily taken the title if the side planets weren't all exactly the same...

This is more or less what I had wanted from Fable 1. Really great, and I'm nearly at the end and haven't experienced any bugs.

Some curious omissions though.

- Tattoo cards not showing how the patterns look on your body is annoying.
- Stealth is gone, along with Lockpicking (would've been really useful).
- No armor blows.
- No full assassin suit blows, especially since you can do assassin jobs this time.
- No fully shaved head blows.

Mostly minor stuff.

Sorry for the shitty quality but wtf :lol :lol.

One thing that bugs me (just a tiny bit) is that the "B" button both cancels out of the various menus and such, and also shoots out your magic. So there's been times where I've tried to cancel out of a convo or expression or whatever and accidentally set fire to the shop instead. :lol

Just finished the game. Loved it. Got so absorbed with real estate too :lol, even with my low rent rates (usually -20%) I was still racking in about 14, 15k every 5 minutes. Bought me a
castle
at the end and got the 2.5 mil Title. Now for doll hunting. A guy online randomly gifted me three of 'em. All I need now is Teresa and Reaver
..f*ck Reaver :|
. :D
