Official Fable II Thread

what? Don't be stupid. It is a big issue, I can't be bothered doing horrible/ugly stuff to make people hate me because a) thats time consuming and b) I shouldnt have to!

Stop blaming the game for your own laziness. Jesus. If you're a good guy and everyone loves you, they'll flock to you and praise you. If they hate and/or fear you, they'll stay away from you or call you names. If you want some balance between the two, then fucking balance it yourself.

Just finished the main quest. WOWOWOW the last hour or so was SO GREAT.

I grew so fucking attached to that dog and had to get it back, so I chose Love after getting the achievements for the other 2. BUT I would like to know what happens with the other choices. Can someone spoil?

Honestly this might be my GOTY when all is said and done. It's a tough choice between MGS4, LBP and Fable 2 though.

It's really, really easy to make them just not love you rather than hate you. A few of the scary expressions and just watch those hearts flicker out. :D

On a slightly different note... it seems that everyone I meet fully loves me, is fully attracted to me but the middle indicator (good / evil?) is down under half way. I can get it up pretty quickly with sock puppet / hat game but it keeps going back down. I guess it's because of something I did, but I have no idea how to fix it on a more global scale.

Scars are absolutely permanent right? I have a bad ass one across my eye with the eyepatch, but i recently got one doing the Hobbes cave again (so many dudes...) that isnt nearly as cool.

Hm. My dog seems to gets stuck a lot. In one cave he could just walk right through a boarded up little cave, which I obviously couldn't get in to. He managed to get out, though. In another cave, he got stuck in a small space and couldn't get out at all, until I walked a long way back and he got respawned there or something.

Exactly. If they're entering your house and bugging you while you're trying to bang some STD-ridden whore, then simply scare them away. Literally. That's the beauty about this game: it's very open-ended and gives you massive amounts of freedom. With the exception of the bugs, it's only as annoying as you make it. There is always a way to "fix" whatever issue you might be having.

fuck, I need 55k more in real estate wealth. does anyone know a quick, easy way to get that? I'm pretty sure I own everything right now.

I heard buying the best furniture would help once you have purchased everything and still haven't received the achievement.

beaten by simplicity.

Bloodstone question:
There is a guy on the 2nd floor of a house offering to clean up the town, asks me for help.
I don't mind this, but will the town be rid of hookers? Oh god, if they are gone, I don't know what I would do! They are the only women in the game under 200 pounds!!

So will helping the guy clean up the city clear the whores in town? ;_;
Should I kill him just to be safe?
The whores will still be there, don't worry.

How is it possible to beat the last round of the Crucible in the allotted time? D:
I don't understand why so many people are having trouble with this. I got a perfect round (1:49) on my first try, and I didn't even know how to kill Trolls. On my second run I got 1:16.
Just keep shooting at the Troll while rolling around to avoid his attacks - as soon as his weak points appear you'll auto-target them anyway.

Simple answer is don't use time control. Clock still moves at normal speed and his nerve things don't regen fast enough. Auto attack on the ranged wep should be good enough to see you through.

I had an excellent time when I re-did it but it looks like it didn't upload to the leaderboard site. :(

Don't think so, man, but they're really only good for the early part of the game.

Not true. The bed you get is awesome (gives you both a purity bonus and regenerative health when you sleep in it).

Got the game today and played about 2 hours.
Man maybe it's me but this game really lacks polish. I'm constantly fighting the controls and the interface is a mess. Graphics aren't too hot either but at least it has charm. Hopefully my opinion changes for the better but right now I'm a little underwhelmed.

The only real problem I have with the game other than the bugs are the sluggish and overall poor menus. I've never had an issue with the gameplay, and the game looks really good (sunrises are OMG :lol )

The menu lag is definitely bothersome, especially since you use it a lot, for a variety of reasons. Also annoying is not being able to use more than one item at a time while still in the menu. It always kicks you back out, and you have to go back in and use the next item. Etc.

Those are still relatively minor annoyances, though, overall.

Start of the game is by far the weakest. But... if it doesn't click for you by the time you hit the next major town in the main quest it likely never will.

Luckily it's got me so immersed that I barely notice any flaws now. :D

Well yeah, I mean most equipment in the game seemed cloth or leather based. No metallic items aside from the breastplate on the Ranger's coat. So this helm was a surprise to me.
The standard color is a more reddish hue but I dyed it midnight black. I think it's kind of ugly but it gives me like 15% Attractiveness or something. :lol

p.s. Is there any way to get rid of STDs? Just curious..

One of my MS contacts told me today they are receiving a ton of complaints about technical stability issues/bugs/glitches etc of the game, so at least they are aware...

I hope they do something about it real soon.

Fucking game just locked up on me again twice in a row.
I'm seriously getting frustrated.

Fable 2 is the ultimate "install this shit to your hard drive ASAP" game. Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the lockups and such are due to the excessive spinning of the disc, and possibly even glitches due to improper streaming.

The item menu in this game approaches Mass Effect levels of horror. ;-; Not QUITE as bad -- at least items stack -- but... gah.

Well, after loving the heck out of the first one I was kinda afraid that I wasn't going to finish 'II' and end dissapointed with it....that was before getting the game at launch...

But I loved it!!!!! :)
Just finished it and darn, what a ride..

So, in the end I
choose Sacrifice, since I thought it was the fair thing. Loved the dog and being there since little, but he suffered though a lot so he derserved a good rest after dying in such heroic way. Now, "Lionheart" is the biggest Hero in Albion, with statue and achievement too...
..

I'm so there on day one for 'III'.

Crazy really. I've put somewhere near 40 hours into the game now and it hasn't blinked an eyelid. Even had the entire of
Bloodstone
following me around at one point and the worst I got was delay showing the menus. I've seen bugs, but nothing stability related.

I've never had a disc read error on my console though, and it's only ever crashed on one game so maybe some 360s are more susceptible to this sort of thing than others.

this might be odd and i have not seen it disscussed yet.

anyway, i keep hearing a tiny little voice when i am in the middle of nowhere bagging on me about hero stuff. sounds like a freeging leperchaun or something but when ya look around there is no one anywhere near you.

who the hell is hiding in the trees talking smack?

it happens all over the place. not just one wooded area.

Took me forever...they're gargoyles. Shoot them :D

Yea I am probably around 25 hours with not one hiccup, but have a buddy who's game has been freezing once an a while, who knows.

Well, it's a credit to the game that even after I beat it, I'm still playing it. I don't know why, I really could care less about achievements (as my abysmal gamer score shows) but I keep wanting more. Too bad I completed 90% of the quests before I finished the main story. My character is kind of wandering around aimlessly. Life's a drag when you're the world's greatest hero. Can we have DLC or an expansion, like, now?

okay i'm on my way to westcliff with
Hammer to find the Hero of Will, and I'm at this big wooden gate that won't open and i can't seem to get past.

I had this happen to me because
I had left Hammer behind to go exploring and she disappeared. You need her to open the door.
I had to go back and reload.

I'm almost 100% pure, and 100% evil o_O" Dunno how that happened, lol..guess that's because I stole and killed random people..but was a good guy overall.

Can't wait to see what my character looks like ^__^

Hammer IS with me,
I will try reloading the area again

Is there a way to decrease/lower your muscularity besides lowering your physique? I want to do a melee character, but she looks like a fucking tank. In Fable 1, Tofu would lower muscle points, but I don't know how to do decrease it in Fable 2?

ha ha, no way??? are they in trees or on buildings? like stone gargoyles?

i keep hearing a masquitoe type sound, is that them as well?
Funny thing is that they kind of look like your avatar and have glowing white eyes. They are on buildings for the most part, basically on anything that's made of stone, and usually are sorta up high.

Finally picked up the CE. OMG the sense of humor in this game is hilarious im bustin up at some of the things they say on the back of the warrants. Amazing game though. I've been playing for like 40 mins and im hooked.

Played for an hour and a half tonight, and didn't do anything having to do with the story. Just pure exploration, treasure hunting and bandit slaying. Good stuff. Force Push leve 2 = godly.

I have no idea where I am, but it's a long ways from the town I was supposed to go to. What I wanted in this game was the option to go exploring, and it's there. Happy happy joy joy.

Someone said it earlier in the thread, but the Gargoyles really are one of the best collectibles ever.

Usually I shrug my shoulders at hunting down a bunch of some specific thing, but the audible cues the Gargoyles give are just great. You can't help but want to shoot them in their smart mouthed faces.

Anyone have a running record for how many children you can have? Currently I have 6 from three different wives. Even better, all but one of them are children and not babies... I am honestly trying to see how far I can go with this :lol

edit: and my first child is black (cheating wife) and definitely bugged. He just stands in one place and won't react to anything. This game is super buggy but I still love it :D

Does anyone actually walk to their locations? I was on the quest currently with the Abbot in Oakfield..and it required me to go to Rookridge..then somewhere else, then all the way back to Oakfield. Of course, I "teleported"...but just wondering if anyone does the opposite and just walks everywhere?

Are there any achievement whores here? :lol

I wouldn't mind trading/helping people out with Ruler of Albion. The one I really want to get is the Dollcatcher one, specially since I suck at the shooting mini game. :(
