Bruce Cockburn makes Bono look like a political nancy. This guys crazy.

:lol Cockburn rocked...I doubt anyone else has the stones to say what he did, even though he's correct.

I really, really wish oasis had taken the invite for this.. I can only imagine how batshit insane the crowd would go on Don't Look Back in Anger, Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, etc. right now. Fuckin hell it would have been joyous to see.

I would love to have seen Oasis take the invite, get on stage, say what a complete waste of fucking time this show is, and play on anyway. And the crowd would still cheer them on. :lol

Barrie has the best crowd. hands down.

Of course...Canadian music crowds went up in stature big time after Sarstock in '03. It's a shame AC/DC isn't playing today, cause they'd own every performer in sight today.

Lol

people booing celine dion in canada

thats wrong

:lol No surprise...her diva ass is the only one doing a remote performance (from that show of hers in Vegas), instead of getting on stage like every other performer on the planet. Fuck her scrawny, narrow, overexposed ass.

Scott Weiland and Slash together is just too much rock star. Youd think the world would implode or something

What did Bruce Cockburn say that was so controversial?

He basically said how critics say the governments won't listen or that the debts saved will only be funneled into the dictators, but says they won't mention that the same G8 governments are the ones propping those dictators up to begin with. For me it's not controversial at all, but for those who can't fathom such ideas, I imagine it was wild, nutty talk.

Thanks. Geldof did a similar thing but aimed at the critics of the show. He showed a really moving video. Then it ended with a picture of a dying girl. He said they took that picture when she was 10 minutes away from dying. With the money they raised in 1985, they saved her life, sent her to school and she's just finished an agriculture degree. Then they welcomed her onto the stage and she said thanks to everyone. It was so moving, and a real "fuck you" to everyone who's criticised this show, IMO

edit - Sting's on now...damn this is good

Some are online now apparently. McCartney said an Mp3 of his opening was online after 5 minutes :lol He said it was on iTunes...not sure if he was mistaken or not

I can't wait for Pink Floyd to come on. Anyone think mp3s of these performances might come out later on?
I can bet ther is at least 100 people making ROIOs of these shows. You will find loselless FLAC/SHN files, prob no mp3s directly.

Mariah Carey, then Robbie Williams... and then -

OH MY FUCKING GOD THE WHO AND PINK FLOYD AND PAUL MCCARTNEY MY BRAIN IS ASPLODING! AND THEN LATER NEIL YOUNG WILL CLOSE IN BARIE!

*breathes*

Tonight's going to be fun. After the show, CTV (Canada) is going to be having a big four hour recap of the show, should be awesome!

I have to wait until Mariah is done and then Robbie Williams has to play before The Who and Pink Floyd come on!?

Yeah :( I wish Mariah would stfu and go home. I don't like Robbie but he's damn entertaining so I don't mind having to watch him. Then it's The Who...omg. Pink Floyd and then McCartney? FFS that's going to be an excellent end to the show.

The Who
Pink Floyd (Please don't suck)
Neil Young
