BAAAALLLINNN'
I denied the trade on the grounds that it was highway robbery. I'm at fault here.
After reading this, I kind of think trades should be completed in-game before they are submitted to the trade council. It seems like most trades are gonna be approved, so we could just reverse the ones that are denied.

It kind of sucks for Rinse that Trasher backed out of the deal because somene(s) on the shadow council told him he was getting screwed. At least, I assume that's what happenened, since I don't think the trade details were posted in the thread.
You were taking Trasher to the cleaners to be honest, I'm glad it fell through.
I just give everyone the ok when they ask for approval because I don't want this shadow council talk bullshit. Say yes to everyone and then you don't have to hear about it.
LolWelli just said he discussed transactions with everyone else to determine if they should go through. Kind I laughable that we pretend at fairness with the "no voting on trades in conference". Who needs to vote when you can just tell ol 2 kills how he should vote.
Lol
I told Luke my opinion before he told me his.
Just so we're clear, it was Cliff Avril, the one year FA for Trashers first rounder. Would anyone have accepted that aside from him?
Further, what's the point of the shadow council? What's their to vote on if we aren't protecting morons from themselves.
I already said it should go through since the council approved it.He offered it.
I'm playing halo and there are two guys talking to each other about child custody payments and issues with their kids mothers.
I'm going back to call of duty
Where you'll be playing with the kids that those guys are talking about.
I'm trash in Halo now. It's like in Space Jam when their powers are sucked out of them.
Rinse, give it up friend. You may have overwhelming support for this to go through but the precedent it would set is bad for the league at this juncture.
Moving forward there does need to be clear cut rules for trades deemed locked in. A phrase, or bringing it up for vote or something that would signal it being done in blood.
Unfortunately, the commish and co. can't plan and institute a plan for everything so sometimes a course of action has to come on the fly after the fact.
DCX
Are you guys playing much longer? I want in!
I don't know what's going on with the trade, and I don't really feel like reading right now, but I deferred my vote to FMT because I wasn't clear on the rules for trading 1 year FAs. The whine council said no last year.
My whole thing is: why didn't you just bid for him when the FA was going on? Would have cost less in the long run. And if people are dumb enough to get swindled, then they get swindled! I thought we were preventing ridiculous trades like Rodgers for a 7th.Eznark, can I get Rodgers for a 7th?
It has happened before. Nothing was done then and the rule that isn't or maybe is a rule of free agents not being able to be traded.I will drop it, but I fail to see how holding somebody accountable to a deal that has been agreed to and passed through the council would set a negative precedent for this league.
if trasher didn't resign/extend him during the season then his interest in signing with detroit during bidding would be very low.
Oh. That makes sense. Trasher missed FA, right? I think I remember him having to deal with the website.
Looks like I can't get on Halo for a while... shit came up.
The weird part is, Trasher told me he got Luke's OK on the trade as recently as this past Thursday when we were going through the council process.
So not sure where the Wellie and Luke said no part came from. After Wellie got in Luke's ear?
you can't regulate free speech.I feel like the council is free to discuss amongst themselves so they are able to vote yes or no correctly. I think they should take it in their hands to approve or disapprove and that's it. I don't think they should go behind everyone's back and let one of the parties know that they think the trade is bad, even though the parties got the votes of approval from the council. This is what leads to such situations.
you can't regulate free speech.
I know, but they should at least watch themselves from doing that anyway
bluemax, I'll leave here in about 10 minutes, should be home by 5:00 ET.
Ram ragequitting
Trasher - you can still make this right bro.
