Wow, the haters sureeeeee are quiet!

Another dominating performance from Shaq, as he pulled down 12 rebounds, scored 20 points, and dominated the paint on the defensive end.

League MVP Amare rose to the occasion again in a big game, scoring 41 and pulling down 14 rebounds, 8 of them offensively. Amare the Unguardable was so unguardable, all the Nuggets could do was foul him in a vain attempt to slow him down. 19 free throws, making an incredible 17 of them.

Steve Nash chipped in with 36.

Hilarious that the Nuggets though they could out-score the new and improved Suns! Dear Dallas fans: You're welcome.

Yah Amare did whatever he wanted out there. Thank goodness we have Bynum and Mbenga *gulp*

The Suns will never be impressive until they start playing defense. I have no doubt in my mind that teams like the Lakers can simply outscore them. The Nuggets would have blown then out if they played anything remotely resembling defense. But they can't even do that.

Sorry commish but Nash is the MVP of this team. He got punched in the nose and decided to take over the game. Nuggets shouldnt have woken him up.

You're also the guy who claimed 2 weeks ago that Kidd had several triple doubles with the Mavs. I think that pretty much says it all.

Mavs can't even close out the fucking Clippers :lol

J-Ho 4 for 15 :lol

When Jason Kidd is your leading scorer, you know something is wrong.

Lakers defense was certainly better back when they had Bynum. They weren't Boston good, but they were definitely better than they are now.

They won't shutdown any team but I think they can get enough stops to put themselves in a good position to win any given night.

Even with Ariza and Bynum the defense wasn't that great.

With a healthy roster though the Lakers have a lot of offense though.

hmm I'd have to disagree, even with AB they are a pretty soft team on D. Not that he won't help them get stops. They have the O to put up points tho. So it isn't a the Lakers are doomed thing..

I was thinking that maybe Denver should part with Karl, but I'm not fully convinced that any coach on Gods green Earth can make Denver play defense. It's almost like they have the mindset of, "Hey, we're going to try to score as many points as we can. If the other team outscores us then that's okay because we can still probably sneak into the playoffs."

Karl is a good defensive coach, just his last two teams have had 0 players who could play D..

At least he has stopped giving Askew like player PT

New NBA thread soon as I make dinner. You're gonna like this thread title Blackace.

How do you know they have a lot of offense if they've never all played together?1111!11one!! You must be good at judging things you havent' seen either! ;)

Seriously tho, Lakers don't have a good defense, and anyone who thinks that is going to change when Bynum gets back is kidding themselves.

Nuggets have an even worse defense, and out of all of the playoff teams, I'd only like to play Houston more in the first round (if winning is the goal. For entertainment, I want the Lakers or GSW).

i have to hand it to Commish, he is almost single handedly taking over this thread. He's like the Rockets on a 22 game winning streak.

Just wait until the playoffs...I'm going to politely ask my law firm to ban neogaf from all computers so I don't get fired.

Lakers will be a better defensive team when healthy. Thats obvious. On a Spurs or Boston level? Probably not. But it should be a considerable upgrade.

The thing with Gasol and Bynum is, they are guys that are comfortable with playing in that area. Right now the guys we have playing down there aren't going to get it done consistently. Turiaf is an energy guy off the bench and is small as well. Odom can help down low, but thats not his position. Vlad isn't comfortable anywhere near the basket. Mbenga is in dire need of development.

Gasol isn't a great defender and Bynum isn't Garnett, but their length and comfort with their position will greatly aid the team defensively. The combination of Gasol, Bynum, and Odom will help considerably with rebounding, and the offense should get a major upgrade. Also the team can get back to a more comfortable rotation.

Just don't underestimate what comfort and having certain guys with you can do. Amare wasn't exactly good defensively when playing C and defending out of position. Now look at him while playing in a situation that he likes. He's more comfortable on both ends now.

So don't make to many judgements on what gains will be made on offense and defense before you see the team healthy.
