Middle East
South America (?)
East Europe

...

Man, I was hoping they'd avoid the East European setting for the battlefields.

I just said wow.

First picture looks really nice, second picture is pretty bad as those cave textures are ps2 quality and the wall texture on the left of the last pictures is downright nasty. I hope this crap gets fixed by the time it comes out.

Yah, wall textures seem to be all over the place in terms of quality. But that first picture is badass. Snake is so badass he never uses a silencer. :lol :lol

Maybe Kojima should've told his team about the new camera perspective, seems they designed the textures according to the classic top-down MGS camera. :P

I'm only getting online if they fix the shitfest that was considered aiming. They should make it more like socom, but only change the camera's persepective when against a wall or something. That's the only thing I can't stand about Kojima, he's such a pansy dick when about FPS. Says it makes him motion sick. Well, not everyone suffers from his little problem, so why make all of use suffer? >;(

If the camera really is like RE4 then the fights online will be much better. Especially since you're able to move and shoot. Couple that with all the new moves you see in the trailer and it should turn out alot better.

I am confused (and didn't read the thread, sorry) but I see young Snake and Old Snake. Anyone can explain what's going on? ;)

My frothing demand for this game increases... :lol

Don't worry, everyone is confused over that. :P

Now these just look insane, technically and artistically. Inconsistent is the keyword uses here. Which to me implies either A. placeholders B. Jett's theory of textures being created for certain camera angles or C. The game will look inconsistent. Maybe a mix of all 3, I dunno. I still think the gameplay, lighting, modeling, and finished animation looks brilliant. I trust the team with polishing and delivering 100%. 1080P and Online as well, forget it.

Man that new Harry Gregson-Williams Song reminds me of a Track on the MI:2 soundtrack.(Hans Zimmer)

Nyah's theme. Much more tragic, but there are similarities. I love it.

Its the completely the opposite. Solid is old and the young snake is just a mask. He's old for so many reasons gameplay and story-wise that I am too lazy to write them now. Forget about it :)

Can't be a mask. How the hell would he be able to light a smoke, and breathe the smoke?

okay umm...i'm starting to think old snake is really just big boss, and the young snake is actually solid snake....solid snake didn't have a knife while he was creeping around while he had the black mask covering his face, and he also said that he didn't like swords or whatever, right? pretty much every shot with old snake, he has a knife along with the gun...i'm sure that's been mentioned a ton of times already, but really...

In all likely hood, this is probably true. In the first concept art released, Big Boss is clearly present (looks like he's wearing a ninja suit similar to Snake's in the trailers). And in an interview not too long ago, Kojima was thinking about making Snake look young after the reaction Lee Van Cleef Snake got.

But LVC Snake still has his right eye, so that kinda throws a monkey wrench into the Big Boss theory. Not that Kojima can't change that before release. ;)

Agree, but sons of liberty had a more memorable main theme when the first trailer was announced.

Could be. Personally, I thought the reaction Old Snake got was great. Loud, but generally positive. Also the promotional art all points to showing this mask as something important. Maybe they're just showing the camo feature off in the poster, or maybe they're showing what will be 2 seperate characters in this game. There's something weird going on. Smoking through the mask, running around at the end in purely the mask instead of old Snake.. Not to mention how many questions this game's supposed to answer. Imagine all 3 characters of the Metal Gear franchise featured in one huge game. They all certainly have business with the Patriots. The character development given to each could really make this game emotionally.

For all the pre-MGS hype the games get, nothing ever compares to playing through them. The possibilites are endless and relatively hidden thus far despite seeing 3-4 trailers already.

Snake's knife is pretty wicked looking. It almost makes that one sequence where he takes down that guard + the screen cuts to Snake sitting on the guard's back followed with some ungodly gurgling noise disturbing yet mesmerizing to watch.

Following that up with a brief scene of only the guard's legs twitching and the rest of the body being hidden offscreen somewhere and you got a serious "WTF I gotta see the rest of that" teaser right there :lol I'm dying to see what exactly he did to that guard.

Black mask Snake actually does carry a blade, you can see him holding it here

I just can't see Old Snake being Big Boss. Not with the way he interacts with Otacon.

Okay, what if "old Snake" is Snake, and "young Snake" is Big Boss cloned!? Btw, anyone notice the straps are different colored on the statue ending sequence? It could also just be a big joke, and the straps are simply an undecided Kojima. Half of the video Snake's got an electronic eyepatch on, and half he doesn't. What's the deal with that dissapearing and reappearing?

Not that that couldn't be changed in the final game. Snake was fighting bosses on Big Shell in MGS2 in the trailers, but that certainly did not turn out to be the case in the final game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kojima pulls a fast one on us, since it's his "last" MGS game. I'm sure he wants to go out with a bang.

I think that I see grey hair sticking out behind that black mask though. i.e. Old Snake

And, maybe I missed something but what exacly is Snake doing in this scene? Popping his old back?

I heard that liquid snake is also included in mgs4, but how? Is he still in the arm of ocelot?

Liquid Ocelot. Check out the E3 trailer.

It could obviously be another clone but i'm not sure they'd go in that direction. It's all rather confusing and Kojima isn't going to talk about it. He seemed to do his TGS presentation without even mentioning it. Like it wasn't even in the trailer. :P

Well, if he could insert Snake where Raiden was in MGS2, he could certainly change hair color. :P We're pretty much at the mercy of whatever he wants us to believe now.

I'm not sure he'd use the same tricks though. But you really never know. There are odd things about it. You really can see grey hair sticking out the back of that mask

Then as pointed out the weapon straps are different on each of them (Young Snake has the matching suit straps while Old Snake has the brown straps).

I'm not sure if this has been asked yet, but is there any word on multiple voice tracks (specifically the Japanese one) for the NA release?

Yes, Kojima mentioned at E3 that you'll be able to listen to either the JPN or English voice overs. They wanted to do this with MGS3 but didn't have enough room on the disc.

YES!!!!!!@E!@!@#!@!!

I just wish they could have done this a lot sooner. The Boss' japanese voice is to cry for.

Look, after watching the high quality TGS trailer, I'm thinking that anyone who trashes this game is quite probably a damn troll.

The game looks INSANE in motion. It's technically amazing.
