so depressed today...... damn rain. :(

Don't be so down. We can split w/ the Tribe and hopefully sweep Tampa (yes, I know) and go into the break on a semi-roll hopefully.

If you want to be even more depressed .. look at the selling prices of those cards you used to collect (anything post-1985).

YOU'RE RIGHT!! smell that? everything is coming up x-box!!! :D

Hey, last year we were under .500 forever. Remember that game against the Cardinals? 8-0 I think, with a thousand errors. Half full. Half. Full.

baby steps, baby steps...

Don't want to see another ****ing baseball card in my life. My Strawberry rookie card that I payed $60.00 for in 1990 was worth a litte more than 8 bucks the last time I checked.

I still have several thousand baseball cards that I collected in the late 80's and early 90's when I was a young boy. Are you saying that I have no need for a Beckett's card guide?

cards by themselves are decent in terms of value but you get the big bucks when its a perfect or near perfect graded card.

an arod rookie might be $50-$80 for example but the same arod rookie graded a perfect 10 might go for $400.

beckett offers grading but theyre the harshest but on the flip side a perfect 10 beckett card is worth more than any other 10 from other companies. psa is the most popular because they're still tough, just not as tough and their 10's have significant increase in value.

a few years ago, a jeter minor league card graded a 10 by i think PSA was going for 10, 000 bucks.

It was Jeter's 93 SP card (which I have graded 10)...and A-Rod's 94 SP card was going for 16 thousand at one point in 2001. I have that graded 10, but got it three years too late.

And Damon hurt his foot/toe.

Also, why the **** are the Sox starting this Johnson guy? He was horrible the first time, and he's been horrible so far today.

Jesus.

Watching Jason Johnson pitch is about as much fun as oral surgery. Goddamn he is horrible. At least Pauley and Snyder gave us two good starts between them. This asswipe is just worthless.

Who is next in the parade of number five starters? "Bong blastin'" Jeff Weaver?

El Duque throws 7 shut out innings for the win. All is not well though, the Mets just called up Lima to pich for them. :lol

I guess they want to give Pelfrey more time to worlk on his stuff before calling him up later in the year.

SCORE A DAMN RUN FOR ROY-O STUPIDO STROS!

It's nice when you win 12 straight and barely gain ground on the east...you just sort of stayed where you were.

That's awesome.

****ing Devil Rays.

If we lose?

*Speier dishes up 2 run homer to barajas*

Damn you bullpen, I was feeling kinda ok about you for a week there. :(

I hate the Texas Rangers so damn much. Luckily we face the Royals next. If we don't win at least 3 out of those 4 games...

That loss hurt :(

Poor Roy.

Lamb only got one at bat tonight :(

Ensberg has just been awful, but hes been hurt and it sucks Lance had to bat righty all game.

OH Rafael Furcal, HOW I HATE THEE! DIE ****ER!

Izturis with REDEMPTION!

We need to bring back Willy Aybar to play 3rd and put Izturis at Short Stop. Furcal can rot on the bench for all I care.

WOW! It's not even necessary for the Dodgers to show up when the D-Backs just beat themselves. :lol

Angels unload Weaver to the red birds.

SEATTLE -- The Los Angeles Angels traded disappointing right-hander Jeff Weaver to the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night for minor-league outfielder Terry Evans.

Weaver, 29, was designated for assignment by the Angels last Friday after going 6-10 with a 6.29 ERA in 16 starts this season. He signed a one-year, $8.3 million contract with Los Angeles as a free agent during the offseason.

The Angels called up Weaver's 23-year-old brother, Jered Weaver, from Triple-A Salt Lake last Friday to replace him in the rotation and on the roster. The rookie right-hander is 5-0 in his first five starts for Los Angeles, including a 7-1 victory over the Mariners on Monday night.

Jeff Weaver went 14-11 with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season, his second with the club. St. Louis will be his fifth major-league team following earlier stints with Detroit and the New York Yankees.

He has a career record of 81-97 with an ERA of 4.55 in 225 starts.

"We feel that Weaver is someone who can come in and lend immediate help and depth to our rotation," Cardinals general manager Walt Jocketty said after St. Louis' 14-4 loss at Atlanta.

Weaver allowed 114 hits, including 18 homers, while walking 21 and striking out 62 in 88 2/3 innings this season with the Angels. Opponents had a .309 average against him.

Evans, 24, was hitting .311 with seven homers and 20 RBI in 21 games with Double-A Springfield. He began this season with Class A Palm Beach, hitting .307 with 15 homers and 45 RBI in 60 games.

Evans was drafted in the 47th round by St. Louis in 2001.

And from what I just heard in another forum, the Angels were asking for Lastings Milledge for Weaver...****ers.:(

****ing Arlington Park, why do we always suck there. Oh well KC is next, hopefully we don't suck there.

I just wanted to say that Jose Reyes and David Wright are close to ascending to godhood, and that we should all feel lucky that we will be able to witness it.

F reyes and wright in the face! Young and Blalock 4eva

**** Jeff Weaver, what an asshat. He could've been with the Dodgers since they offered him the same damn contract except that they didn't have his little brother in the minors. I wonder what he is thinking now that his bro took his job in Anaheim.

Oh No! Saito's wheels have fallen off!

Damon's gonna miss tonight, officially. *Sigh* It keeps piling on like this we're gonna have to start playing out of nearby Lincoln Hospital. Anyway, my plan is going along nicely. We earn the split tonight and sweep the Rays (who will use up their weekly allotment of W's with a sweep of Boston tonight) and waltz into the break with a 5 game streak and only a game out. :)

Damn. I would have personally paid for Weaver's plane ticket.

I've been hearing alot of rumors that Michael Pelffery is going to start this weekend. I sure hope so because I don't want to see Lima Time aka Sucko time.

I am not sure why Lane had to play last night while the red-hot Lamb sat on the bench. I also have no f'n clue why Ensberg is still playing everyday. That really pisses me off. He has admitted he is hurt, he is batting like crap, but Garner continues to put him in the lineup.

F-U Garner.

As per ESPN radio

Pedro to the DL
Pelfrey called up and starts SAT

It's a good thing overall gives Pedro to rest his hip, and gives Pelfrey a chance to see how good he is and for the future.

So, AJ Pierzynski and Nomar won the voting for the final spots on the all-star squads.

I'm stunned that a douche like Pierzynski actually won a popularity contest.

I can't imagine anyone outside of Chicago voting for him....while every real baseball fan I would have assumed would be voting for Liriano or Hafner. I did my part...I guess the White Sox just have the most fans.
