BULLSHIT. Some people don't understand the strategy involved with pinch hitting your pitcher. only a National League fan understands how imporant it is and how much more exciting it can make the game. The game loses something, like arena football as compared to regular American Football.
Why not have 9 DH's and 9 fielders? Baseball is a game of great individuals. You play? You hit.
The Mets would not compete in the American League, though. I hate it, but it's true. Hell, if the Reds can lead the national League wild card, then you know it's a weak league.

Mrbob said:For reals truthz though, Mets fans should just accept they will always be a side show to the main event.

Angelus said:So what happens when the Marlins do it against the Yankees then? So much for that crap about the AL being this beast, you guys were beaten by a rebuilding club team with a small pay role just like anyone in the NL was.

Man you can sure see the haters coming out in full force today. I dunno why you guys ride their balls so much. It wouldn't be because their still running away with their division would it.

LOLZ.

evil solrac v3.0 said:nah, it wont get us banned. wellington posts here and he's cool with us arguing. besides all the other mods hate baseball and don't come close to even sniffing this topic. i think they leave us alone for the most part. they think we're weirdoes. screw them.
Oh, well in that case, tear each other's eyes out. I'll just grab a beer and some nachos and watch the show.evil solrac v3.0 said:nah, it wont get us banned. wellington posts here and he's cool with us arguing. besides all the other mods hate baseball and don't come close to even sniffing this topic. i think they leave us alone for the most part. they think we're weirdoes. screw them.

The M's pulled AAA outfielder Shin Soo Choo from the Rainiers game today and they have a press conference coming up soon. Word is Choo is being traded for a pitcher but nothing more has surfaced yet.

Weaselred said:My guess is that it is not gonna be for a pitcher. Unless Soriano is hurt and is going to the DL as is being rumored. I heard that its supposed to fill up a hole on the 25 man roster and unless hargrove is a complete moron and wants to go with a 13 man staff, then its proboly gonna be for some more offense. Then again it is Hargrove so I guess expecting A pitcher would be a good idea.
This is what happens when so many teams are still in the playoff race.Y2Kevbug11 said:Yeah, doesn't even feel like trade time. :\
Oh I Know that. I'm just saying that with Hargrove insisting all year to carry around a 12 man staff that this isnt out of the realm of possibilities. Personally, I think that Bavasi has done a pretty decent job here considering the shell of the team that he was left with. Hargrove manages to piss me off with almost everything he does, I've gotten to the point where I drive around with FIRE HARGROVE written in my back window.bluemax said:Hargrove doesn't make trades, Bavasi does.

Angelus said:So if the A.L. is that much better then what does it mean when teams like the Devil Rays put it to the Yankees and RedSox? Or when the WhiteSox loose 11 out of their last 14? Its means about the same as it does when the Cubbies almost sweep the Mets-its a long season and anyone can be beaten. Atleast keep the shit talking down till the playoffs begin.:lol
R_GILL said:The Devil Rays aren't as bad as you think, they are just stuck in a hard division and they have no pitching past Kazmir. Offensively they are good.
Angelus said:I realize theyre good. They have Kazmir for starters. But some of the guys parade around in here and pimp the A.L. like its no contest, yet I see teams with stronger lineups(Yankees,RedSox,BlueJays,WhiteSox) getting their tails kicked against teams like the Devil Rays. Just as the N.L. teams do against lesser teams in their own league.
For one league to be that dominant as some say, then why are the goliath teams still loosing to the lesser ones? Thats all I'm saying. I do agree that there are *MORE* powerhouse teams in the A.L. (no contest there) but it doesn't take away what the Mets have done thus far with thier season. Theyre beating up on the lesser teams, winning most of their series against them,as well any team that is dominant in their league should do.
They've got all the ingredients down really, theyre certainly no fluke. A great win/loss record in 1 run and extra inning games. Theyre a group that plays well together, they can beat you with speed, power, defense, small ball, and have a pretty good bench, bullpen isn't too bad either. Though their starting pitching needs one more solid starter otherwise there will be too much burden on Glavine and Pedro should we make the playoffs(nothing is set in stone in my book.) Staying healthy and playing consistent ball is the ticket to October,oh and the Braves bullpen helping us out as well.![]()
And its cool that noone gets banned for clowning around in the baseball forum. It would take away alot of the fun in rubbing it in so much. Thats part of the fun of being a fan and argueing with your rivals.
