Tie game, Runner on first (Zimm). Washington hit-and-runs, Nick Johnson flies out deep to center. The ball is caught, but Zimmerman thought there wer two outs and is on third and starts walking off. Beltran calmly throws the ball to Valentin, who walks to first for the 8th inning DP. Roy Oswalt (who saw it on MLB Extra Innings) had this to say:

This comes from the first series when Braves came to shea stadium. When Braves got two lucky wins with half of the Mets line up injured. But we all know that was a fluke now becuase Braves blow major ass, and 17 games out of the divsion. Also LMAO when he said Beltran sucks, funny when he said that Beltran is now having carrer year.

No,because I've been to many baseball forums for over 6 years now. All of the Braves fans would always trashed the Mets, whenever Braves beat especially in the years 1998,1999,2001. Now all of there trash talking finally bit them in the ass, and it's time for some payback for over 10 years.
 
jesus christ, I really just lurk in this thread because I don't really have any team (closest team is the reds and I'm still wary after bad ownership for so many years) but the mets fans are annoying as hell. It's like every stereotype about new yorkers being assholes about everything, even when things are going well, is validated by all of the stupid posts made.

Are you a Mets fan, because ALL mets fans know the double harassment the Braves and Yankees have put on us over the years. You're telling me all the times Braves fans have practically skeeted in Mets fans faces over their September swoons you never noticed it? What about when the Mets won in 2000, and all the Braves fans said "They didn't face us" Well if they could've ADVANCED maybe they'd have a point. Now they finally have a chance to go deep in the post-season, and the Braves fans STILL talk crap? I'll admit posting those quotes every week is a little weak (I stopped after I did did once about 3 weeks ago) but to say we can't stick it it their faces after 14 years of frustration, and Messrs. Franceour, Jones, Giles, and LaRoche puffed up their chest before the Mets retired their division hopes is crazy.

He looks about 15 years younger than he did in Chicago.

He's also thrown an average of 150 less pitches per game than he did in Chicago too.

Damn, he's looked really good for us. Holy shit, he only threw 68 pitches in 8 innings -- that's incredible. I thought for sure that ball Lofton hit in the 4th or so would go over Bonds' head but no such luck. Come on Jeff, knock Raffy in!

Ugh, nothing. Poor Maddux, he deserved a win tonight.

I think part of the hate stems from the fact that the Mets have run away with the N.L. East this year while every other division is fighting for their lives. Which I suppose it fine,but c'mon you guys,there has been so much shit thrown at the Mets for years that suddenly you can't take it from the fans? They've got the 2nd best record in baseball,they dismantled the Braves,the fans have room to talk abit of smack.

I've seen fans from all teams talk shit but for some stupid reason Mets fanatanics aren't allowed to do so also?

One: All fans do
Two: We are I'm pretty sure no Mets fans here has talked about, WS it's other people saying Mets will get swept in the WS
Three: Bullshit Mets fans has taken alot of shit from other team fans over the past few years especially Braves/Yanks fans.
Four: Winning 11 divison titles in a row, and finally beating them in there house of horors is some type of achievement.

This is the first time in a long time Mets fans has something to cheer about. People like you are going to bitch about that, f**k that. I'm going to clap my hand stomp my feet, and cheer for the Mets and bring the title back to Queens.

The MLB thread has always had shit talk and such, but it's never had trolling or anyone being obnoxious or anything like that in it before.

McBlack, I personally know for a FACT you'll make my life a living hell if Mets get swept in the first round so that "off the board" stuff is bull.

You know what Met fans, forget it. It's really not worth it. Let them believe whatever delusions they want about someone saying we'll win the WS (which no one did). This is nuts, again all I wanted in the beginning of the year was playoffs, and I adjusted that to "go deep in playoffs". My advice, stop sweating the topic, because everyone hates stuff thrown back at them, even if it is the truth. Just ease up quoting early season predictions, enjoy the 15 game lead, and hope everyone's healthy for the playoffs.

Also, most of the other fans here don't understand how it felt back in the late 90s (hell, early 90s) to be a Met fan trying to beat the Braves and the horrors of Turner Field (going into this year they were 20-51 there since 1997, 9-28 since '02, and 1-8 last year), not to mention the heartbreaking way it would end every year. It was to the point of predictability, which had been pointed out here by most non-Mets fans.

Couple more years of mental anguish, it would've come down to this for me . . .

To finally slay the demon after years of suffering under its reign is something you don't fully grasp, unless you're the slayer or the slayee.
