Wagner's really coming on strong in the 2nd half. I didn't think he'd come out today for the save, but he did, despite pitching the last 3 days.

Wagner will fail the Mets in the playoffs.

Its amazing what a good nights sleep can do to you. Reagarding this news about Glavine-the most important thing is Glavine's health. The hell with the Mets and their chances-the most important thing is Glavine turning out ok. He's a classy guy and I'm pulling for him. His health is priority number 1 -if he's gone for the season then he's gone. The important thing is to get this thing taken care of.

Sorry if I came off sounding like a dweeb earlier, the news just really caught me off guard.

Thanks for relaying this news to us Siamese.

Halladay wins his major league leading 16th game. I think I'll just watch the Jays on days he pitches.

He was awful last night :P

Lowe pitching a gem against the giants but thats nothing out of the ordinary. Happy to see him in the 11 wins club.

Yeah, he's looking great out there. I hope they dont pinch hit for him next and let him go for the shutout.

Damn that mofo can pitch! 81 K's now on the season. :D
The last 5 or so pitches were all the same. The Giants kept swinging at it. It looked embarrising.

I agree. But why the **** did Grady little not put Lugo in there and have Kent become a defensive liability?

The New York Mets announced today that they have acquired righthanded pitcher Guillermo Mota and cash considerations from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for a player to be named later.

Mota, 33, went 1-3 with a 6.21 ERA in 34 games for the Indians this year. In 37.2 innings, he allowed 45 hits, 27 runs, 26 earned, with 19 walks and 27 strikeouts.

Since 2002, Guillermo ranks fourth among major league relievers with 367.0 innings. Only Scot Shields (380.1 innings), Mike Timlin (379.1 innings) and David Weathers (373.2 innings) have pitched more.

The 6-4, 210-pound reliever was 2-2 with two saves and a 4.70 ERA in 56 games with the Florida Marlins last year. In 67.0 innings, he yielded 65 hits, 38 runs, 35 earned, with 32 walks and 60 strikeouts.

Guillermo was originally signed by the Mets as a non-drafted free agent in September, 1990 as a shortstop.

Mota is 23-27 with seven saves and a 3.80 ERA in 420 major league games with the Expos, Dodgers, Marlins and Indians. He has notched 402 strikeouts in 502.0 innings.

The bullpen is awfully full lately. I wonder if Heilman is going to get a shot at starting again if Glavine isn't able to return this year.

Just remember that when I'm posting rumors this offseason that Zito doesn't want to play for the Mets. :)

I don't want Zito going to the mets anyway, Mets has some nice arms in the farm system.
