Ooo AA. This might just be the silver bullet to defeat the Jays.

Don't be too confident, the Blue Jays are allergic to sweeps. I can't remember the last time we swept a team.

Great Win for the Dodgers, another solid outing from Aaron Sele going 6innings and keeping us in the game. Rookies continue to impress at the plate game after game. Hopefully tommorow Tomko can bounce back from the horrible outing he had against the Nats. Kent is also supposed to be back in the line up, sucks for Ramon Martinez cause he was doing so well in Kent's place.

Lance Carter is GONE! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE! Gagne has been activated and is serving his 2 game suspension, he will be ready to go on Thursday when the Dodgers are back at home. WOOOOOOOOOOO!

Good news everyone!

I would be less than honest if I said we haven't talked to people [about potential trades], because we have. Calls have been made.
Well folks, if Farnsworth is available in you fantasy leagues, make your move now!

Yeah, great win. The Kiddy Club is money with the bats, Nomar has been clutch also.

You sure about that? Rick Monday said on the radio broadcast that there was still swelling in Kent's wrist.

Oh, Ben Maller.com says the Dodgers might trade for Alfanso Soriano. :O

Wouldn't he be gone after this season if the Dodgers acquired him? We also have Werth, Ledee and Repko on the D.L along with Jose Cruz Jr. I would really like for the Dodgers to go after a starting pitcher and somehow dump Odalis Perez on someone. He's just being wasted in the bullpen anyways, I doubt he wants to be here anyways, probably ashamed Aaron Sele jacked his spot on the starting rotation. :lol

As awesome as last nights game was in the end and as much as I enjoyed Wells' homers, there were a couple of annoyances.

- Sportsnet had some rookie camera guys out there or something, half the homers and numerous other hits had the camera tracking waaaay off. Every home run looked like it went a mile because the cameraman was jerking the camera up into the heavens like Pujols was teeing off on Lidge.

- The bullpen had a shaky day. I wonder what it's like as a baseball fan to have a truly great bullpen. Not just a shutdown closer and a rock solid setup man who could close whenever needed, but another half dozen capable relievers who would always go out there and - I don't know - not walk the fucking bases loaded in the 5th or 6th inning pretty much half the time. Guys who could come out and only rarely choke away most of a 5 run lead. Having a bullpen like that would be pretty damn sweet I bet.

We had it during our championship years. The Angels were pretty close the last couple of years, but I don't know if they are any good this year.

I hate the LAAAAA.

Hmm, we had a great bullpen during the World Series years with the Terminator closing, Duane Ward, David Wells, Al Leiter, Mike Timlin and Mark Eichcorn. And our bullpen last year was pretty good, we held many leads until ultimately Batista blew them.

As nice as it would be to have a legitimate HR threat every AB (since JD Drew hasnt become one like we'd hoped), I dunno if I like this trade. We have too many OFers as is and obviously too many IFers. If we did trade for him and locked him up for a number of years, I'd feel better about it -- it better not be one of those trades where we give up the farm (literally in our case) and keep the guy half a year.

In other news Russ Adams has committed 4 errors in 5 games down at Syracuse, looks like Alfonzo will have to play at 2B for a while.

Ugh.. I already got screwed in the GAF fantasy league with it auto-picking (put opposite The Sopranos premiere.. blasphemy!!) and now my pitching has been hit even harder. Mark Prior, Bartolo Colon and Chris Carpenter on the DL (and previously AJ Burnett who I released). Fuck! :(

[insert biggest rolleyes ever here]

Current AL leaders in votes for the All-star game:

C: Jason Varitek (BOS)
1B: David Ortiz (BOS)
2B: Robinson Cano (NYY)
SS: Derek Jeter (NYY) *leading vote getter
3B: Alex Rodriguez (NYY)
OF: Manny Ramirez (BOS)
OF: Johnny Damon (NYY)
OF: Vladimir Guerrero (LAA)

fuck that bullshit.

Outside of Robinson Cano (wtf? :lol ) the list seems "okay" to me. Joe Mauer or Victor Martinez should be the C. Brian Roberts or Tad Iguchi at 2B and then I wouldnt have any probems. There are guys having better years than Manny and Johnny but theyre All-Star caliber players.

LOL at Robinson Cano.

Today 5/31/2006 just might be the day the Braves as we know them died.......

WHB 810 in Kansas City is reporting that KC Royal GM Allard Baird has been fired and that Atlanta Brave asst GM Dayton Moore has accepted the GM role for the KC Royals.

Dayton Moore is regarded by many as the next great GM. He has been with the Braves for ~20 years and was in position to take over for Scherholtz in the next couple of years. He's that guy that spurned the Red Sox this past offseason because they wouldn't give him full control. Looks like David Glass, the owner of the Royals, did just that.

This could be the worst thing that has happened to the Braves in 25 years. He has huge pull with all the scouts and is likely to raid the Braves' scouting department. Its especially bad that this is happening right before the draft.

I want to vomit right now......

Oh snap, KC actually making the right move, i'm surprised. Hopefully he can fix that team.

Its ok

Glaus, Rios, Wells, Halladay, Ryan should all still make the team

Being picked as a reserve means you are a REAL all-star!

I doubt it. If I was a betting man I would say both Wells and Halladay will be picked. I hope Rios does because I think he is having a career year but I doubt it. Ozzie is going to pick a lot of White Sox for the reserve list. Buehrle, Contreras, one of Konerko or Thome, Iguchi all will make it.

First Base
1. David Ortiz, Red Sox 451,431
2. Jason Giambi, Yankees 321,653
3. Paul Konerko, White Sox 206,472
4. Travis Hafner, Indians 154,878
5. Chris Shelton, Tigers 153,197

Second Base
1. Robinson Cano, Yankees 289,394
2. Mark Loretta, Red Sox 257,125
3. Tadahito Iguchi, White Sox 246,838
4. Brian Roberts, Orioles 130,702
5. Placido Polanco, Tigers 129,596

Third Base
1. Alex Rodriguez, Yankees 524,153
2. Mike Lowell, Red Sox 224,611
3. Joe Crede, White Sox 171,954
4. Eric Chavez, Athletics 167,020
5. Troy Glaus, Blue Jays 145,243

Shortstop
1. Derek Jeter, Yankees 537,218
2. Miguel Tejada, Orioles 370,078
3. Michael Young, Rangers 142,254
4. Alex Gonzalez, Red Sox 130,616
5. Juan Uribe, White Sox 121,304

Catcher
1. Jason Varitek, Red Sox 335,417
2. Ivan Rodriguez, Tigers 277,034
3. Jorge Posada, Yankees 241,736
4. Victor Martinez, Indians 196,987
5. A.J. Pierzynski, White Sox 180,562

Outfield
1. Manny Ramirez, Red Sox 516,658
2. Vladimir Guerrero, Angels 514,013
3. Johnny Damon, Yankees 393,643
4. Ichiro Suzuki, Mariners 279,843
5. Gary Sheffield, Yankees 275,688
6. Vernon Wells, Blue Jays 242,211
7. Hideki Matsui, Yankees 231,777
8. Scott Podsednik, White Sox 195,402
9. Coco Crisp, Red Sox 189,680
10. Jermaine Dye, White Sox 183,160
11. Trot Nixon, Red Sox 177,745
12. Torii Hunter, Twins 169,937
13. Grady Sizemore, Indians 137,716
14. Jonny Gomes, Devil Rays 132,264
15. Kevin Mench, Rangers 131,779

Even though a DH is leading the first base votes, Thome is nowhere on that list. I mean, he only leads the league in HRs, RBIs, and Slugging and OPS

Looks like the 400 write in votes I gave Rios did nothing, atleast he should make the reserves. And you have to write in Thome as he isn't on the ballot but my votes went to him anyway.

3. Johnny Damon, Yankees 393,643
4. Ichiro Suzuki, Mariners 279,843

fuck that bullshit.

Johnny won't play anyway cause...uh, his foot is like severed.

Write-in votes could be a major factor in this summer's balloting, if early results are any indication. Receiving the strongest early write-in support among AL players in Toronto outfielder Alex Rios.

Rios' 58,919 votes put him in a position to at the very least crack the Top 15 of the outfielders listed on the ballot.

Looks like I have some more work to do.

Where is the love for Kevin Youkilis at 1B? The guy has a BA above .300, an OPS over .900, and he plays fantastic defense! Ortiz is a DH goddammit.

They should use the DH rule in ALL All-Star games. Who really wants to see the pitcher bat in what is essentially an exhibition game anyways?

Also, stop letting the fans vote. Please.

Yeah, that's dumb..on the flip side, it means we'll have more PHs. It's not like the pitchers pitch most of the game. Hell, they should just have a one inning rule for NL all star games so that the pitcher's spot is always being pinch hit in.

Cubs win tonight, that would be 3 in a row, a victory sweep, and official decleration that the cubs are back in the wild card chase!

The Stros signed Clemens for this rest of this year for 22 million? O_o

Waste of money.

When he is added to the major league roster, he'll get a one-year, $22 million contract -- actually, the contract would be worth $22,000,022 (Clemens' uniform number is 22). But because he won't be playing the full season, he'll receive a prorated percentage of that, which would come to about $12.25 million if he rejoins Houston in late June. The tentative goal is to have him start against the Minnesota Twins on June 22; if he's put on the big league roster that day, he would earn $12,632,307.

Gallo gives up a one out double on the first pitch to a .176 hitter...Aaron Miles dribbles one to Ensberg for a base hit...Luna lines a rocket straight to Ensberg...Gallo hits Eckstein with an 0-2 pitch and 2 pitches later a single up the middle ends it.

The fun never stops....

I'm at work so I couldn't watch the game but I'm not suprised Gallo lost it for us. That's the second time he's blown an extra inning game. Put his ass on waivers.

Red Sox fans rejoice, Red Sox killer Vernon Wells won't play today as he is day to day with a shoulder injury.

Damn it Tomko! Damn another bad start for Tomko, we should'v been out of that inning down 4-0. Ethier with the dropped ball and 2nd base Ump with a horrible Balk call.
