Now Beckett will throw a no hitter and lose.

No, you can't have a Yankee-Red Sox game without bullpens blowing leads all night and Al Leiter making a random apperance.

Edit: Christ, here it comes.

The rebirth of Mike Lowell has just been beautiful.

Varitek is quickly becoming a corpse. When you factor in the 4 years/$40 million contract... that makes me a bit worried.

front office was right about Nomar and Lowe, maybe they should have stuck to their guns on Varitek.

Andy Phillips? You've gotta be shitting me.

Oh man Beckett is dying out there.

No control on the breaking ball and poor location on the fastball.

If he settles in it'll be trouble but right now it's just all over the place. Four straight hits.

So miguel cairo tries to bunt.

Holy christ.

This is why he gets killed by Toronto. They call nothing but fastballs to teams that clobber fastballs.

Well, Tek is calling for breaking balls but they are just not getting over.

****!!!

I'm turning this off now.

I have an idea for the next Hitman game. A hit in a baseball stadium. Full of people. It'd be awesome.

Yeah, but you'd have to watch the pitcher you're rooting for give up like 7 runs first, then he gets capped before the manager can pull him.

His line isn't complete yet but like...

1.1 IP 7 ER 7 H

Ouch.

You could have to do the hit before the pitcher is pulled. God I hope the manager is lou pinella. :lol

lol Beckett knew what he was getting into going from facing '7.5 batters' in a NL lineup to the AL. He's been tuned up by the Jays already (and cleveland right).

I have Mussina dressed, hope he doesn't follow suit. ;)

Beckett posted a Wandy Rodriguezesque 47.25 ERA after two innings. Ugh. I can't give him the Wandy treatment and boot him off my team, either. Maybe I'll trade him for a twelve pack or something.

I actually like that Milledge went and high-fived people.

I think personable, young stars could really draw people into the game. Not that it matters, but baseball has enough Barry Bondses.
I completely agree, I don't see anything wrong with that kind of attitude... if you actually win the game. I don't think celebrating early like that is really the best thing to do.

• The Mets are still trying to acquire Lugo to play second base, but they have been frustrated trying to meet the Rays' asking price.
Heck, the way Valentin is producing, there's no rush.

So what I don't understand. It's an 8-run lead in the the 3rd inning. There's talk of going deeper into a shallow bullpen on the first game of the series.

Why not, just admit that you'd need an insane power hitting boost to win and not bother going into the bullpen more. Save those guys for the next 3 games.

If they were gonna do that they just woulda left Beckett in.

Boston fans, on behalf of the Mets fans I apologize. We started Andy Philips on this ricoculous hot streak 2 Saturdays ago. Don't blame your pitching, blame us.

God dammit this game is frustrating. 4 innings in a row we end the inning with 2 men on base! Daniel Cabrera is just unhittable! I think he's almost done, so hopefully the jays can hit whoever comes out of the bullpen

Cabrera has been good when he's needed to be tonight, a few times I thought the Jays were going to start putting some runs up against him.

*checks to see if I have any bosox relievers dressed in my yahoo leagues*
whew! ;)

A-Rod, we're up by a lot. You should be playing well.

He botched Moose's rhythm twice in his last two starts.

3 up, 3 down. The Jays fall to the mighty hand of CHRIS BRITTON--The Ugliest Man in the Majors

I would have preferred a blowout to this slow and painful death.
