Okay Met contingent. I came of this board because I see I was needed to be the lightning rod, to give hope and life to the Mets fans that were scared to post, beaten down by years of frustration and evil Yankeedom. This week, we have a test against the Boston Red Sox and teh Evil Empire. But we cannot overlook the BoSox... they have a dangerous Manny in left field, and a Big Papi who's the Anti-Arod (He might be more clutch than the METS!!). So for the 3-game series, I want to see those 1986 Mets images when a Mets player drives in a run. If it's Reyes, show Santana or a speedster like Mookie. LoDuca, show Carter. Delgado, show Keith. We shall beat 1986 attitude all over the Bosawx in this series!!! ARE YOU WITH ME, De-Generation METS??

... BREAK IT DOWN!!!

True Dat. :) Mets need to play well.

Wow.......that Hendrickson guy looked pretty good against the Braves on Sunday.
..Former NBA SF who played on the Nets and other teams. Athletic as hell but his skill hasn't quite transferred to baseball yet. He's always had some potential in my book.

Trade alert:

D-Rays get Jae Seo, Dioner Navarro, PTBNL
Dodgers get Mark Hendrickson, Toby Hall

Is Dioner Navarro going to be coming to the majors or will he be kept in the minors? He was doing a decent job aside from his defense which was still suspect, I hope he does well cause it must suck that he had his job taken while he was on the D.L. Not sure why we took Toby Hall unless he will be traded somewhere soon cause now we have 3 catchers in Russell Martin, Sandy Alomar Jr. and Toby Hall. Hendrickson cant be any worse than Seo/Odalis who have failed to make it past 3-4 inning without giving up 5+ runs in the last couple months.

EDIT: Nevermind I just read the story that says he will replace Toby Hall in the everyday lineup. Good for him, wish him well cause he was just gonna stay in the minors here cause I dont see Russell Martin losing his starting job anytime soon. CRAP no wonder he made a deal out of nowhere, Tomko went on the D.L with a left oblique strain. That sucks cause he was finally looking he was getting back on track.

Gammons is one of the great writers in the history of baseball, and that is sad news.

Hopefully he will have a full recovery and we'll be reading more of his columns in the future.

Definitely, I've been a huge fan of his for years, hope he recovers.

Anyone know what the consequences of an aneurysm are? Is he gonna be like...a vegetable?
Neil Young seems to be doing fine.

EDIT - Jesus, Soler is stinking it up. He'll be lucky to get out of the 2nd inning at this rate.

I don't know who to root against.

I obviously should root against the Sox, but something is telling me to root against the Mets.

That's fine by me. It's not like you guys are behind in the division or anything.

anyone listen to baseball on xm? how's the quality and who calls the games? does xm have its own people?

Sound quality is excellent, I listen everyday. The home team's announcers call the game, which can get annoying when your team is away for a while. Especially that Yankees announcer, who has pet names for everyone on the team.

I've listened to a bit of it on my friend's XM, and while I'm not sure about all of the broadcasts, I'm pretty sure that the Yankees' broadcasts have Sterling and Waldman.

That doesn't really bother me. Obnoxious Met fans (not you guys) do though.

And I would love for nothing more than to be able to say, "How'd you do against a real AL team at full strength?" but...uh, well....there is that division thing.

I think I'll remain neutral.

And Waldman is such a boston fan in disguise.

Hey, don't get me wrong, Boston scares the bejesus out of me. I'd be satisfied taking 1 game in this series, personally.

I can't believe how good Youkilis is (on a side note).

Same OBP as jeter, 4 more HR, fewer errors, higher OPS.

And he's farm system reject material.

God Lester sweats like a beast.

Typical...Clemens pitching his ass off again and the Stros cant even get him one run :|

Damn even Lowe cant save us from the sweep. 2nd Inning and he walks the bases loaded and hits a guy to bring in a run. This season is quickly falling apart for the Dodgers. :lol

OH ****! Game Over for the Dodgers, Good Night! What a disaster every single pitcher including Lowe and Penny are stinking it up at the wrong time. Cant wait to see how many K's Santana will get tommorow. :lol

6-0 in themiddle of the 3rd, and Liriano's pitching for the twins...

Dodgers might as well just forfeit the game right now. :lol

Kiss my ass Ausmus,Adam E and Willy T!

Runner at 3rd,no outs and none of you fuuuuuuuuckers can get the run in for Clemens?! >_< You worthless major league hitters.

-P. Wilson singled to right
- P. Wilson to third on pitcher N. Robertson's throwing error
- B. Ausmus struck out swinging
- A. Everett popped out to first
- W. Taveras grounded out to second

AJ Burnett is dominating the Washington Nationals today.. 7ks 7hits, no walks, 71 pitches through 7 innings. Fantastic!

Wait till tommorow when the Dodgers send out Odalis Perez against Johan Santana. It's been well over month since this team actually played a decent game on the road against any team.
