ABC Chicago just said the White Sox are actively going after Soriano....what the shit?

WE HAVE ENOUGH OFFENSE, KENNY.

Do they want to make him a center fielder or something?

You know it might almost be worth it to give up the lead for now just to see Arod strike out with the bases loaded.

Why? There is nobody worth a damn in the NL besides them.

I still think Cardinals have a good chance to dominate the NL in the playoffs and the Astros have always been a red hot team. I haven't kept up with them though, so I can't really tell why they're so far back in the standings, but I'm guessing they can make a run for the wild card still.

It's true though. He was their only offense yesterday and he still got thrown under the bus.

They win today and folks are still piling on cos he had a tough game. Dude can't win...it's like a Kobe situation :(

And therin lies the rub.

Money doesn't make people robots though. The guy isn't mentally tough like Kobe and this garbage is affecting his game.

Why can't the stupid Yankee fans see this and stop trashing their best player!?

:lol @ Konex's new avatar! Rep that shit.

Hmmm Jason Strak has been saying that A's would accept Milliedge for Zito trade striaght up. I would do it it could really help out the Mets in the long run. But they better resign Zito when he becomes FA even if he's going to cost 100 mil over 5-6 years

Because they are a year older, and their top starter is going to fall apart when a brisk wind hits him. Because that top tier closer they just paid for is going to go down within a month for likely the whole season. Because Carlos Delgado will hate playing in New York.

But most of all, because they are the METS, and the only thing they win is the attention spans of baseball fans in the off season. Call me when you've won the division and then maybe you'll be worth listening to. Wanna go to the postseason? The road goes through Atlanta, pal.

Hmm like Frankman did last night I'm going to pull up another crazy Braves Fan prediction said earlier in this thread. I'm loving that the haters are getting owned right now.

It's so much fun. I joined this thread at month or two into the season and missed alot of posts, so I was reading when I saw that. It's not that it was a Braves-Mets thing, it was the ridiculousness and arrogance in the post. Yikes.

I'm calling on all trash talk. I just re-read my initiation on this thread on Page 20, and man I got ragged. For my SECOND post:

he should have thought about how mentally weak he was when he was whining his way out of Texas and into the media spotlights of Boston/NY.

i used to like the fact that playing on the yankees was unlike any other team, and the media and fans will tear you apart if you dont perform but this is so unbelievably out of control im starting to change my mind.

i've gotten on arod this season, but the level where its at right now with the media is COMPLETELY uncalled for.

Tonight's Sportscenter highlights of the Yanks/Jays game were beyond pathetic. They showed every one of A-Rod's ABs, pitch by pitch. They placed far more emphasis on A-Rod playing like shit than on the Yanks snapping a losing streak and gaining ground on the Sox.

I don't like A-Rod at all, but this has gotten hilariously out of hand.

supposedly they did that on baseball tonight also and then tim kurkjian and jeff brantley went on a little rant about how showing all those pitches and the media bashing has gotten out of hand. i know he plays baseball for $25 million a year but it really is unfair.

edit: yesterdays ny post...I REST MY CASE

I half-watched the Jays game at my parents house between wedding functions for a family friend. Sucks to lose a winnable game, but I was surprised to see other ppl at the house actually caring about the Jays for the first time in a decade.

Trades being talked about on BBTN:

Ensberg for Linebrink
Tejada for Orlando Cabrera (and others I guess)
Soriano to the Angels (this one is probably the same rumor from the last couple of weeks)

Few more:

Soriano to Twins
Tejada to Astros
Abreu to just about anyone

im not watching the game, just getting yahoo updates but are they sure its posada catching and not a garbage can?

edit: jorge now leads mlb catchers with 11 passed balls, nice.

Wow, you would think Posada was catching Tim Wakefield with numbers like that.

And down goes Slappy by way of the K with two men in scoring position. Well, they have back page fodder for tomorrow now.

god damn suckage just surrounds the Stros right now.

So did we just witness the end of Sir Fat's time in pinstripes? If so, it's a shame. I wanted the Red Sox to get a piece of him.

Damn, the Jays are pouring it on now.
