I wish I was as inspired by today's (yesterday's really) Jays win to write a Frankman-esque post recapping the game. Only 9.5 games back baby! and only 8 back from the wildcard!! Wooo!

Oh well, atleast Chacin is back. Hopefully he can pitch well. He has been rocked in his rehab starts though.

I could write one for you . . . A certain Yankee fan who doesn't post here much said you Blue Jays fans should quit because your teams' season is over. I think you're still in it anyway. Regarding my "tone" I get like that after I goto a game, and this really was a funny week in the sense that I firmly believe we needed to win this series, I don't want Burrell suddenly waking up and recovering his MetKiller status; him in tandem with Utley and Howard is scary. Also leave Evil alone, he's still lamenting the devastating loss of Miguel Cairo. :D

Oh for the stat whores, Paul LoDuca since July 1st is hitting .430 . . . That's .430. Let me say this again so you
siamesedreamer
can understand:

FOUR 'EFFIN THIRTY

Wow, that second half-collapse really hit this year, right?

Stat whores don't usually give a shit about batting average.

Well, I'm not a stat-whore and I could give two shits about LoDuca. His collapse is still coming - either in the regular season or the playoffs.

I think one thing that has to concern the Mets is the fact that Beltran and Delgado are both hitting ~.220 at home.

And yet all the Metkee fans were crying about how they lost home field advantage due to Trevor Hoffman. :lol

Tallet playing because Lilly is a little stiff. I don't have any more hopes of a playoff spot but I hope they can play with confidence again and build from here on to the next year.

Do the words "small sample size" mean anything to you?

So what's the deal with you guys? Injuries finally taking a toll? Rough patch for the pitching staff that will pass? Or is the entire team just bored and content treading water, more or less, until Armageddon aka 5 game series at Fenway? Michael Kay is already eulogizing your team and NOBODY wants that prick to be proven right, even Yankee fans. So what's up?

I wish I knew man.

More than anything, it has to be the pitching. It feels like we haven't gotten good pitching out of anyone not named Curt Schilling in seemingly weeks. I mean, we finally got something worthwhile out of Jason Johnson yesterday, and the pen shits the bed to a lineup full of guys like Greg Norton and Zobrist. I hope it's just a slump, but they've seemed listless since the trade deadline passed.

This is a team full of vets. If they're sad that we didn't reel in some help at the trade deadline-- they need to get over it. Time to man up and win some damn games, or go the way of the Blue Jays.

Still, we all know that it's going to come down to the 5 game Fenway set.

Great game by the bullpen, especially Accardo and League. That was some dominance there.

The only problem is who are we going to use tommorrow for relief when Marcum goes his usual 3 - 5 innings.

Anyone notice that the massacre gets a smaller portion of the page next to the Loduca bombshell? Oh man.

From what I heard on another message board-Loduca has been separated from his wife since April, they were split up. The picture with the babes is I think recent, right? Leave it to those papers to stir it up,no wonder he stopped talking to the media a few days ago.

the babes pictures isnt that recent, it might be from around spring training which is the time they got seperated.

It just goes to show you what a SMUT rag the Post is. THIS is the biggest story of the day? The war between Israel and Hezbollah just had it deadliest day, and the biggest pipeline in Alaska just got shut down for "mysterious reasons". Yet this deserves the front page? I wouldn't talk to the 'effin media either.

Ok.

You know tha papers are gonna run with it,look at the Piazza gay thing a few years back, they'll go as far as they can to sell papers.

I really don't care about what Loduca does with his time off the field, just as long as this does not effect his game. He's been on a tear since the all star break so maybe the night life will keep him from having his traditional 2nd half tail off, heh. Ofcourse a line has to be drawn - I mean you don't him running around getting every woman on the planet pregnant like Larry was doing for awhile there.:lol

Frankman-yeah they should have kept the Loduca story off the front page-there are more serious things going on than reading about someone's night life. Sex sells though, smut at its finest.

Liriano isn't looking good today.

He has been able to get out of a few jams though and it could be much worse.

Buehrle sure likes pitching like crap to the scrubbiest part of the Angels lineup. He is just lucky Figgins is ice cold right now.

LOL, a balk and a run scores.

LOL, Figgins proves me wrong. Base clearing single, just when Chicago got back into the game.

Dude, it's the Post. The Post is ABOUT sex.

Welcome Back Jeff Kent! Double and a HomeRun for 3 RBI's already!!! :D

About damn time! He looked so bad, so you knew something wasnt right.. really, ever since he got plunked that one game, it just wasnt the same. Hopefully he can keep it up -- certainly off to a good start. :D Shame Penny had to lose his no-no on a homerun!

Woo, another Dodger fan! We gotta take better advantage of these situations where we have the bases loaded and 1 out or less. There's no excuse to not put a few on the board in that situation.
