Official MLB Thread - 2006 Season

White Sox have the next 6 games against the Devil Rays and Royals.

Meanwhile, the Twins have the Royals and Yankees, and Detroit has the Yankees and Angels.

In theory, either the Sox/Twins/both should gain some ground on Detroit in this next week.

I have a question, how many faithful MLB posters whose teams are in the playff chase (Dodgers, Padres, Diamondbacks, Giants, Tigers, Athletics, Twins, White Sox, Red Sox, Yankees) post here? I already know the Met people.

Just going by the who's posted list:

Dr. Strangelove 1,207 - Red Sox
Eminem 1,097 - White Sox
Y2Kevbug11 1,007 - Yankees
The Frankman 619 - Mets
evil solrac v3.0 563 - Yankees
Angelus 445 - Mets
Joe 426 - Yankees
Meier 390 - Dodgers
Kuroyume 311 - Mets
rc213 237 - Dodgers

Twins and A's fans post sparingly, but are around.

Padres, Giants, Tigers, Dbacks fans don't seem to exist in these parts

Damn the Mets - Phills game got rained out. I was hoping for a good game from John Maine too. Maybe the game will be on MLB Extra innings tomorrow,I guess I'll leave the PC on to record it then.

Maybe the day off will give Wright some much needed rest since his power numbers are severely down since the All Star break.

Jeff Conine and $500K to the Phils for a player to be named later. Good move for the Phils IMO. Now I wonder if Thurston or Roberson gets sent back down.

I think alot of them lurk - I did that last season until I was banned a few times in gaming threads earlier and decided to post here now. Truthfully this board is somewhat intimidating if you've never posted before. Its largely A.L. oriented to some degree. Oh and I still remember all the Mets hatred that went on here last year.:lol From a first glance I thought this board was no different from the typical MLB.com boards around the net with all the trolls doing their best to stir shit up,but nah this is really a nice board overall. There are just alot of chest pounding egos in here-which is why were all fans afterall-you live and die by what your teams does every season.

Well the AL oriented thing could change easily. If the Cubs or Astros were having good years, there'd be a ton more NL posters. (cubsfan still owes me $10

)
Don't get me wrong, Stros fans still post a lot even if the team isn't doing well(which is why we all love them), but if they were having a better year they'd be more prevalent.

Oh, and Incognito is a Reds fan, but he only shows up once a month to troll, so he doesn't really count

There was a Padres fan here last season....I wanna say it was jinx

Astros and Cubby fans I do remember reading alot last year. I dunno why some have layed off though-a bad season doesn't change the way you feel for your team.:)

I still remember the Mets being no hit by the late Darryl Kile in 1993,I had 3 friends call me up to laugh at me over the phone that day, every night you had Letterman spewing Mets jokes, you had Bobby Bonllia stinking up the place, the sports illustrated article- "The New York Mets: The worst team money could buy." ****ing brutal shit all around. I mean it was awful, yet I loved those ****ing loosers.:lol

I guess what I'm saying is no matter the win/loss record the team is wearing, you still gotta do your part to show support. Be vocal...even if your team is having a shit year.:D

Baek is having the game of his life, hahahahaha.

Hehe, they've given up a run, yet Baek is still pitching a no-hitter.

Sadly, this will all change come tomorrow when the AL West returns to start kicking our ass again.

I propose.. the Mariners try to get into the National League. They can beat the NL West.. but the AL west.. :(

I'd be alright with that after this season!

I'm not trying to say we're a good team, but we've actually played decent against most teams. However, the AL West owns us.

The rumor is Dusty Baker is dying to come back to the west coast and Seattle wants him.
Have fun watching Felix's career go up in flames.

OH DEAR GOD NO! KEEP THE DEVIL AWAY! I know for sure the Mariners will have a new skipper next year.. but I'd rather have the team manage itself. I also heard Lou Pinella might come back.. here's hoping...

Boston needs to move it. 5 games back of 1st AND the wildcard? At least the White Sox are a half game out of the WC.

How do you do that Who Posted thing?

The entire population of Washington state would rejoice in unison if that were true, but there's not way in hell Lou would come back. Ownership seriously pissed him off and they're not willing to admit mistakes. Howard Lincoln and co. don't want someone who will go above them, they're quite content making a profit with a "yes man" manager like Melvin and Hargrove.

Astros are still in the playoff race.

OMG Thank you Billingsley for eating up some innings tonight when the bullpen really needed it!!! Go Wilson Betemit too!

He really stepped up today. :)

Edit: Snakes are really helping the Dodgers with Double plays.

By reading the post in this thread this year I'll probably could figure out the Mets here.

The Frankman
Puertoricanjuice
Angelus
Link
Mifune
Kuroyume
Myself
LLj11

So if I'm correct there is 8 Mets here, thats a pretty good showing.

That makes no sense to me. Why reward these bum ****ing Braves for pissing on a legacy of regular season greatness?

Don't get me wrong... when the Braves do something worth bragging about (beating the Mets, Jeff Francouer drawing a walk) I'm in here to brag about it. Otherwise? I subscribe to the adage of "If you don't have something positive to talk about, don't talk about anything."

Mets fans should know about that, it's been about six years, right?

It would be nice if there was a bit more diversity here. Seems like there's only about five different teams represented among all of us.

It's always fun to see the Braves doing there usual first round choke job in the playoffs.

That Royals series scares me a bit... but I hope we just bash the Yankees' brains in. Tigers next weekend... I'd love to see us get Liriano back for that series, and have Meatball throw something other than high fat ones for a change.

I post sparingly only because I'm a relatively new baseball fan. I started listening to the Twins on the radio a ton in my car a couple years ago (I listened to them occasionally at my old job) once I didn't have a CD player, but it's been damn fun this year, and it's been easy to catch the magic. I don't want to post a ton and look like a jackass *cough* and be a sore winner *cough*.

"You talking to me?"

:lol pollo flipping because he thinks I care!!

Qwerty710710, come on. That's what fans do, joke. I just post angry/sillyface and leave it be.

Anyway people I'm trying to get an idea of the alliances as we go into the stretch run. Since I begin classes this week I expect not to be here much. But I will be here in spirit!!

youre fronting like you dont?
Youre the most egregious case of met fanaticism on this board sir. Granted solrac can be pretty lame, but you go above and beyond with your emphatic bolding and italicization of words

The cough was directed to our east coast friends in the other League, sir! No matter what happens in this race, I think we can all cheer when the Mets get knocked out. As long as there isn't another goddamn Subway Series.
