Fifty said:Good news Boston fans! If Toronto wins tonight we're only one game back of you. After we sweep the 5 game series starting tomorrow, the Red Sox will be sniffing the Orioles.

Why wasn't Rivera pitching in this game?
Dr. Strangelove said:He pitched in game one of the double header.
Eminem said:So did Proctor

Angelus said:Oh ok. I assume he pitched the 8th and 9th?
Otherwise I'd have thrown him into this game.
Tigers have nads though, that was a clutch hit.

Not that I think they get anything worthwhile out of the trades, but roflcopter total.

WOOO! Thank you Broxton, Season Series sweep of the Reds. Now lets hope the Reds come alive down in S.D.
Dr. Strangelove said:Actually, Kottaras would be a pretty good pickup seeing as how we're trading a 43 year old fatass with 1-2 months left in his career. Catcher is a position we are very lacking in, so if we get him, great.
There's still a chance (albeit small) Theo may be able to extort Matt Kemp from the Dodgers. Now that would be something special.

OAKLAND, Calif. - Not long after the Red Sox sent 22-year-old left-hander Jon Lester back to Boston to be evaluated by club medical officials, sources indicated that one of the clubs most promising players is dealing with more than just a bad back.
Among the possibilities: Lester has cancer.
Although Red Sox officials are being extremely tight-lipped about the matter, Lester has been undergoing an array of exams in Boston for internal medical issues, including cancer.
Carl Pavano is now complaining of shoulder pain, the latest in a series of ailments for the New York Yankees' $40 million pitcher.
Pavano is telling Yankees officials that his shoulder is now bothering him, in addition to his ribs, a source told SI.com. Pavano broke two ribs in an Aug. 15 car accident in West Palm Beach, Fla., but didn't reveal the accident or injuries to the team until nearly two weeks later, upsetting the Yankees. His new complaint is that his hurt ribs are causing him shoulder pain when he pitches.
