Some other baseball games went on during this series but no one knows what happened during them.

I cant even recall who won the WS.

What the Hell Little over the past week you been quick with the hook but today you leave Sele out there 3 batters too long. COME ON OFFENSE!!!

I swear, the Dodgers will win 7 in a row and look damn good night in and night out and then just look like absolute garbage the next day. It's crazy.

Real test starts tommorow with a 10 Game Road Trip at Brewers, Mets and Cubs then a 4 game series against the Padres.

Rape Time at Dodger stadium off Beimel. :lol Beimel has seriously fallen off the wagon lately, no wonder he is used so rarely.

"Mets MLB.scout.com board flipping out over the Mets loss."

:lol

I'll have to read it tonight, I don't dare view anything outside of GAF or Clutchfans.net (images disabled ftw)

Well, at least we won the one that we should have won. (6 innings of perfectness...go Roy)

OMG why must you tempt me with that open invitation to post suggestive images??

Oh Miguel the Mets backlash I learned is due to callers on WFAN saying Houston killed the Mets in the game and the Mets should fear them. Some of the more "hardcore" fans have responded. Also, look at my posts on that board, you people call ME extreme? I'm tame!! :lol

Man, that damn blown save really hurt. He was 11/11 with a 0.59 era before that shit happened. Should've been 3-1 in the series.....

Once again we're not really out of it, but we're not really in it.

Torii Hunter on Sporting News Radio every weekend is the ****ing bomb. :lol

They're always going on about Bob Stelton (I think) wanting him to be on the Yankees...and he's always cracking back. It's a great segment :lol

After reading that Mets thread, I have a newfound respect for TheFrankman and Kuroyume.

...it seems ALL Met fans are insane. :lol ;)

Well all the mlb.scout.com boards are like that, to my knowledge I'm the only GAFfer besides siamesedreamer who posts there (siamese does the Braves mlb.scout.com Board). EDIT: Happy to see LoveEmHateEm calmed down a bit. :D

The Braves board is priceless, post a comment about "Hey, shouldn't Cox stay with (insert starting pitcher), the bullpen isn't exactly their strength" and they know you're a Mets fan, you get:

"Shut up, you ****ing Mutts fan"
"Someone get this infestation off the board!"
and later a BAN threat from their boards.

Put it this way: Tomorrow when I visit their board I will tread VERY CAREFULLY. For instance the following post where I say the Mets have a shot to step on the Braves neck, crack their spine and end their Wild Card lives will NOT be seen. Also after the demolition, the burning fires and thick smoke after the Mets lay waste to Atlanta will not be posted on the Braves board. Because I respect the Braves organization and their classy players like Jeff "I wasn't here during Atlanta's run but I talk smack" Francoeur, Marcus "I can't back my talk up" Giles, Andruw "ey, just chilin" Jones, and Larry Wayne Jones.

Ryan Howard became the first in the bigs to 50 homers, hitting three Sunday, but it was Shane Victorino's RBI single in the ninth that won Game 1 for Philly, 8-7, over Atlanta.

Not to be outdone by Ryan Howard, Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols tagged three homers of his own Sunday, backing a strong Anthony Reyes as St. Louis downed the Bucs, 6-3.

Slappy McBluelips homered twice and drove in five runs, and Darrell Rasner pitched six strong innings for his first Major League win to lead the Yankees to a 10-1 rout of the Twins.

While there are a few good posters on the Metsw scout.com boards, the bulk of the Braves board posters are infinately more knowledgable and better behaved than what you see on that Met board. Lumping us with them is a serious put down. I would imagine a significant number of posters on the Met board haven't followed baseball since October 2000.

The responding blast in Mets-Braves 17: September 2006 has now been fired. These six games will be huge for both teams in different ways.

Start times:
7:10 - Dave Williams vs. Chuck James
7:10 - Steve Trachsel vs. (not sure)
1:10 - Oliver Perez vs. (not sure)

Pujols is scary. 26 years old and already has 243 career homers. Arod is 31 and already has 460 homers. I think these two have a great shot at beating whatever total Bonds finishes his career with.

Frankie, I honestly don't even care.

Chipper is out for a week with *another* injury and Giles has some kind of freak heart problem.

I've never seen so many injuries in one season.

I'm conflicted. I want Jr. to have a playoff run but I want Howard to win MVP. In that case, the Cards must tank!

Code:
   San Diego 70 66 .515 - 6-4 W2
Philadelphia 69 68 .504 1.5 [u]5-5[/u] L1
Florida 68 68 .500 2.0 8-2 W3
Cincinnati 68 69 .496 2.5 [u]2-8[/u] L2
San Francisco 68 69 .496 2.5 6-4 W2
Houston 67 70 .489 3.5 7-3 W1

Thanks Konex :D

Don't you like Miguel Cabrera too? Barry Bonds? I distinctly remember you being a Piazza fan too.

Now before you read this, keep in mind, one thing.

The Astros colors are Brick and Sand.

In 2000, the Astros became the first team in baseball to introduce "Brick Red" into the MLB's array of colors. For 6 years, Brick Red is what has made there current on the field look, unique in baseball.

Well, unique it is no more.....well, after 2007 that is.

D-Backs changing their colors
Team expected to dump the purple, bring on the red
Nick Piecoro
The Arizona Republic
Sept. 1, 2006

Red is the new purple.

The Diamondbacks are expected to unveil new colors and uniforms at the end of this season, replacing the organization's signature purple with a brick red and tan color scheme  that will give the team a makeover heading into its 10th season in existence.

Specifics of the club's new look, first reported by ESPN.com earlier this week after a team shop employee apparently leaked word of the changes to the Web site, could not be confirmed by the organization because of baseball's regulations.

“Major League Baseball rules prohibit us from providing any details regarding proposed uniform or branding changes,” Diamondbacks Executive Vice President Derrick Hall said. “But I can confirm that there will be some changes for next season and that we are extremely excited about those changes.”

Rules prevent an unveiling from taking place before the end of the World Series.

The club's current colors date to 1995, when Arizona was granted an expansion team and announced that its colors would be turquoise, copper, black and purple.

Turquoise and copper are Arizona colors, while purple was a favorite of Jerry Colangelo, the Suns president who was then the Diamondbacks' managing general partner.

The club is expected to tie in the new red color to the state, according to a league source. The red will be a “Sedona red,” conjuring images of the area's picturesque red rocks

:lol @ the reason for purple.

Until Atlanta sweeps, right?

I've never seen so many injuries in one season.
My team has been wracked with injuries also. 15 different starting pitchers . . . Floyd, Beltran played hurt for a month, not to mention our pen. I mean I symphatize, but there are at least 3-4 (including Mets) teams with as many players used this year.

Wanna go by days on the DL?

Its not even close.
