Not to be a hater but can we see a replay of that last out? :lol

It was really close, but in that situation you CAN'T give that call to the runner. I know it sounds shady, but you really can't. Hanley actually took waaaaaay too much time getting rid of the ball.

Shaving cream no less. Jefrey Loretta couldn't even dig into that wallet for a real one.
:lol

Good for this kid though. Marlins are gonna be extra scary when they have experience under their belts. The only thing I hated about watching the nono were those godamn Marlin annoucers but thats just nit picking on my part.:D

Yeah, there's already been one tonight. **** Randy and his NO HITTER NO HITTER NO HITTER.

Oh, and I lied about the "no ump would have called Byrnes safe" thing. Angel Hernandez would have called Byrnes safe and ejected Sanchez.

I can see it now.

Randy Johnson with a no no in the 9th,there's a slow hit dribbler hit towards Arod that is playable.............

HE BOOTS IT.....

What will they score it,error or a base hit.

Regardless the ****ing media will be on Arod's ass after the game.:lol

I was just thinking less than a week ago about how you never see pies to the face any more. Remember back in the TWIB hey day how you'd see it every week, multiple times?

This kind of thing is actually a fairly regular occurence after Marlins home wins.

What kind of bizarro world is this, the bullpen actually held a one run lead. Bah we should have used League last night.

Shame that we didnt have a bigger lead.. D. Lowe had only thrown 79 pitches, but since it was so close they brought in Saito to close the door.

I <3 fat elvis.

"It will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of the Braves 14 year divisional title run,it will soon see the end of their wild card hopes."

In all seriousness though,it had to end sometime. I mean the last time the Braves were rotten we had George Bush Sr. as President.

No doubt you guys will retool and be back next year anyways.

If he had some career ending knee injury in the offseason, that would be amazing.

What sucks is if he does get within the record he won't break it until he's in San Fran so he'll get cheered. If he's gonna take the record, the only thing I'd love to see is him do it somewhere not on the West Coast so he gets the everliving **** booed out of him, combined with people throwing shit on the field.
Anywhere on the East Coast would be great for this.

**** Barry Bonds.

I want to see his knee explode during ESPN coverage when he's close to the record.

"And we're cutting to coverage of CHASING AARON! Bonds is at 752, and this is his 2nd at-bat of the game, the first time he grounded out to right field. And here's the pitch, Bonds swings and OH MY GOD HES ON THE GROUND AND THERES BLOOD ALL OVER HIS PANTS!! OH MY GOD HES COUGHING UP BLOOD!!!!"

I would laugh... and then cry tears of joy.

Make it happen, baseball gods!

Every MLB pitcher should form some sort of union where they all decide to bean Bonds ever single AB for the rest of his career.

It's funny (well, kind of obvious) how the only pro-Bonds people aren't even baseball fans. None of them even post in this thread.

Son of a bitch. Thanks to work, not only did I miss Perez throw a complete game shutout (wtf?!), but also Anibal Sanchez throw a no-hitter. Both games I could have watched.

Quoted for me. :(

"But we're live"

...

"I didn't know that."

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Twins commentator Bert Blyleven was suspended for an additional three telecasts for accidentally using two profanities on air during a pregame segment, the Twins said Wednesday.

The team, Fox Sports Net North and WFTC Television said in a joint statement that Blyleven will not work the Sept. 9 and Sept. 10 games against the Detroit Tigers and the Sept. 17 game at Cleveland. However, he will return to the broadcast booth for the Sept. 11 game against the Oakland Athletics.

Blyleven was also suspended for the Sept. 5 and Sept. 6 games at Tampa Bay.

Blyleven uttered the words after slipping up during Sunday's segment, which he thought was being taped rather than broadcast live. He apologized to viewers during the first inning of the Twins-Yankees game in New York on Sunday.

"We all make mistakes," said Mike Diamond, FSN North vice president and general manager. "Bert would never do this intentionally. Having said that, there are consequences for our actions, and we feel this is an appropriate consequence."

Blyleven again apologized.

"I want to make sure that everyone knows that I fully understand and accept this suspension and am very much looking forward to getting back in the booth to concentrate on the team's late-season success," he said.

Twins president Dave St. Peter said the team and its television partners feel the additional suspension was both necessary and appropriate.

Can't say it wasn't expected. But Bert, how about infecting both locker rooms with some sort of parasite and causing both teams to give up the rest of thier games. That would be great.

If Bonds isn't resigned by the Giants those cheers are gonna turn sour next season. I've got 2 friends who are diehards and they both say **** him. Let him walk and they'll boo the shit out of him. He is on no use to the team with his creeking knees and juicing habbits nowdays.
And yet here in California you have people calling into sports radio asking "why is Giambi getting a free ride when Bonds doesn't?" Gee I dunno, maybe because the guy fessed up by admitting to what he did without making a mockery of the situation for starters?

:lol

I'm still shaking my head that baseball is just going to let this guy rewrite the record book for homers. I mean its so obvious this guy didn't earn half the homers he has hit,not legitimately anyways.

the problem with bonds is, yes he's a dirty cheater and baseball fans ****ing hate him, but if they just say "no, you can't have your records because you were on roids," they pretty much have to wipe out baseball records from about 1990 onward. really, I'm sure Canseco and McGwire were using roids back when they were on the A's, along with a ton of other MLB players, and it's not changed until maybe last year. so, sadly, they can't just mark out an entire generation of players for using substances that weren't tested for and banned.

I'm sure that happened to a lot of fantasy owners. Hell, up until tonight's game he was probably still available in a good number of leagues.

Yeah..and his next start is against the Mets.
