Myths Busted so far:

Carolina are true contenders - false
Vikings are better without Moss - false
Rothlesburger will have a down year - false

Anyone watching the Cardinals game. They have great talent on defense. They are calling it the "fast break defense". After that first drive they have dominated.

2nd Quarter
13:16 STL FG Jeff Wilkins kicked a 41-yard field goal 6 - 0

10:06 SF TD Tim Rattay passed to Brandon Lloyd to the right for 35 yard gain (Joe Nedney made PAT) 6 - 7

7:30 SF TD Reggie Hodges punt. O Amey returned punt for 75 yards (Joe Nedney made PAT) 6 - 14

6:48 SF TD STL kicked off, Terry Jackson returned kickoff for 1 yard loss 6 - 39

Taken from the Yahoo page. Think they might have something wrong;P

But damn, surprised the Rams are so anemic looking.

I don't think you can make any judgements after week one.

Remember the week one where the Pats got thrashed by the bills 31-0? Their season turned out ok.

No, but I am watching the Giants game and the Giants really look like shit since I started watching. That Oline has been horrendous.

Not all the time, but you can get some ideas of changes in the NFL. Miami looks like it won't be some pathetic whipping boy team nor from what we've seen so far the 9ers.

edit: for clarification you can't really make judgements based on any one week. shit happens sometimes.

Damn 21-6 49ers. Soulja, I hope the greatest show on turf better kick into gear or else the 0wnage FMT is going to dish is going to be something serious. :lol

You should stop watching then, because the offense and particularly the o-line was wreaking havoc in that first drive. :D

I think you can if you look at how rediculous some of those statements are to begin with.

What's so ridicuous about these 3?

Carolina are true contenders - false
Vikings are better without Moss - false
Rothlesburger will have a down year - false

None of them is impossible.... less plausible than others? Maybe... but impossible? hardly.

lol @ the Fox NFL Sunday commercial.

Ughh, all the Tv Commentators Jumping onto the Saints bandwagon. Even had america's team above their name.

Oh lord come on talk about bitching for no reason... the Saints DO have alot else on their mind it wouldn't be surprising to see them lose... instead they had a very good game... and I'm sure that alot of folks who follow football do have good wishes for the Saints.. so in that respect they probably do have alot of America pulling for them... certainly more than any other season....

There just arent any valid reasons for any of these things happening. Rothlesburger is still the same QB behind the same offensive line with basically the same weapons. The Vikings cant lose one of the greatest recievers of all time and get better and the panters werent even a .500 team last year. Some of these guys are acting like they will just walk right into the playoffs with the only reasoning being they are totally healthy. No team will remain totally healthy throughout the season.

Im saying everyone picking the Saints to Make it in the playoffs when its obvious they are not a playoff team. But because the hurricane happened and they won 1 game all of the sudden America's Team. I know all they are going through but thats BS. I felt the same way with the Pats being America's team

It is kind of annoying now. I was watching the Saints vs. Panthers game and I was so annoyed at the commentators. It was like they were cheering for the team and wanted the Panthers to lose so badly.

I'm a Jags fan anways!

Very nice game by the Jags. Good to see Fred Taylor. :D

Less focus on the two you mentioned... is this Roth's second season? Yes.... do young QB's sometimes falter? Yes. And that faltering doesn't necessarily have anything to do with outside sources(changed personnel).

As for the Vikings, if you are one of those folks who feels like Randy was a distraction more than a help and that him being gone means that the ball might get distributed more and the existing WR's might contribute more because of that, then again it's certainly plausible to think that.

I personally don't agree with the Vikings being better with him gone, as for the Pitt one? I'm of two minds... as a Ravens fan I'd like to see that shit come true.... but as a realist I don't necessarily think that's going to be the case though.

You folks hating on the Saints obviously hate Freedom! ;)

Didn't they only barely miss the playoffs last year?

That new Jacobs guy has been rocking out today.

Barely missing the playoffs in the NFC is not somthing you celebrate about. MOST teams barely missed the playoffs in the NFC :lol Most Teams Barely made it in. Not too much seperation from the two

GIBRIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:lol!!! YES YES YES!!

Metatron: I was watching the GB/DET game for that Giants drive hahahaaha :(

Rattay -----> Battle is looking like the new connection. That was just a great pass and catch even though Battle was well covered.

last year we had pretty good pass coverage, and a horrible run defense. this year we have good run defense and horrible pass coverage.

i cant believe this shit. sorry defense, sorry ST. this is the 2004 team all over again

That roughing the passer call in favor of Dallas is the correct one...the fans can boo it... but he clubbed him right in the head...

Craziest opening week in a while...KC (!) nearly shuts out the Jets, San Fran and Miami are both in routs...but on the winning end!...jeez.

One penalty and Dallas is able to turn that in to a successful drive and tie the game....

On the flipside I'm kicking ass in the Gridiron Gaffers league...96 points, 18 more than the next closest person :)

...and I still have TO for tomorrow.

and then Dallas special teams turns around and gives up great field position... again.

I'm not sure I'll ever be able to fully articulate my appreciation to Fox Sports Australia for putting on the abortion formally known as the Lions/Packers game.
