Forget the Hillary/Obama race. They'll keep duking it out if Hillary takes NH.

McCain is the real worry. If he ultimately gets nominated, the Republicans have a reasonable shot at another 8 years, regardless of whether Obama or Hillary takes him on.
He's not a total clown like Romney or Huckabee - he's dangerous.
Nobody has a shot at another 8 years, Democratic or Republican, the country is so fucked up it would take a miracle to get re-elected.

I am not sure how this works.. Why is it already over if it's only reporting 23 percent??

What about the other 67 percent?

It isn't over. People are shitting themselves over 2500 votes.

GOP is pretty up in the air . . . Giuliani was the presume leader and now he is a minor character lately (but supposed surge eventually) . . . Huckabee won Iowa, Romney won Wyoming, McCain wins NH apparently . . . what happens next?

Because the other 67% of the precincts most likely do not hold enough votes to make a difference.

Huckabee eloquent speaker coming up with such biting quips as "We need to take america UP and not down!"

Up indeed Mr. Huckabee.

Huckabee triumphant in South Carolina.

Bombney is the nominee!

Or should I say the bombinee.

I want Obama to win, but I wouldn't mind if Hilary won tonight simply because all the pundits were writing her epitaph WAY too early. I'm not a Hilary fan but it was absolutely sickening how MSNBC was trashing her today.

Also I rather not NH and Iowa decide the presidency. This should be the first leg, not the final round. Otherwise what's the point of primary season?

So yeah I hope Obama wins, but I prefer to be real close, so it sticks a needle in the eye of the pundits.

Either NH people lied on polls or Obama folks just bailed out tonight!

I wonder if all the positive press and huge attendance at his campaign events actually did Obama in. Maybe alot of his supporters just got over-confident and assumed he would win and didn’t actually show up to vote. But Clintons supporters feeling she needed every vote to even keep it close showed up and voted.

True, but the Democratic party will be in shambles if Hillary/Obama loses the presidential election.

Ah, the Martin Prince affect.

Just checked that county, it is fixed.

Glad Hillary looks to have gotten a late surge, just not sure it will be enough. This is going to go long into the night, I think.

I do believe it, because it's true.

Except of course, that it isn't. From her prior voting record to her positions on the issues in this campaign, she is clearly and significantly closer to Obama and Edwards than to any of the Republican candidates, including so-called moderates McCain and Giuliani. The difference between her and 'the worst Republicans' (Huckabee, Thompson) is humunguous. Look into it, as no other conclusion can be drawn.

That said, I'm still rooting for Obama.

Har har har. You think Americans are going to say "oops we were wrong" after putting another Bush in power for four more years? No, at that point denial will be in full force and they'll be happy to give him another 4 and whatever else.

Hey I didn't mean to not respond to those posts, but the topic just exploded by about 300 posts in the interim.

In any case, the anti-Hillary FUD in this thread--as in an increasing amount of threads recently--is appalling.

Agreed on all accounts.

Your stance in this election makes me understand 2 years of reading your posts

Agreed.

Heyy!!! You've got a green dot next to your name. I guess you're no longer a mod :(

Man, if it's not going to be Obama, then Edwards needs to be the Dem candidate. He's got a better chance of beating the Republican nominee than Clinton does.

I have to wonder how many people who claim to "quit the USA if X happens or doesn't happen" can actually back up that claim?
