why do they keep calling this close? 63% of precincts have reported, and she's still ahead 3000
College towns haven't weighed in, and they have a large number of voters.

And Jackson Hole is great.
But you know, mountains and rock formations don't get a saying the democratic process.

Been there too. Took the tram to the top of the mountain. Great times. Stayed at the Soujorner Inn.

Damn you guys are filled with some doom and gloom :lol

NH on its own has never determined the nomination. All it does is increase momentum, which usually just results in the weaker candidates dying out. So I suppose if you were a Richardson support, then yes, you should be filled with gloom. But otherwise it doesn't matter

If Obama won the whole thing would almost certainly be over, they're (we're) disappointed.

But Obama supporters want a tidal wave.
That's what they didn't get today.

I wonder if all these old people in NH voted for Hillary because she's white? Who knows. If this swings her into the nomination you can look back at this primary for the reason a republican took the white house.

It has little to do with race. The fact remains that women tend to be voting for Hilary more than Obama and more women vote than men.

Seriously, they need to call this thing on the Dem side. There's no way Obama is making up 5,000 votes with so little left, especially since it's been this way for like 2 hours now.

EDIT: Finally the AP calls it for Hillary.

Fuck. If my choice is between Hill-dawg and Fuckabee, I vote "stabbing myself in the foot with a rusty flat-head screwdriver."

Again, as I said before the votes were in, Hillary winning gives me some inspiration in our system. We'll never know why Obama didn't win tonight exactly, but I don't think things are as decided as everyone thinks they are. And that's how I like it, because that's how our system was designed.

If only, at the end of it all, things were not fully decided by money. Then I'd be really happy, but unfortunately, they are.

Someone change the first word to NH (or) women.

All the old people and women voted for hilary probably to get revenge on GAFfers bitching about old people and women.

Stunning. As a Hillary supporter obviously I'm quite happy. Happy the process extends either way. I wouldn't have wanted Hillary or Obama to talk it in a walk-off.

Some many polls. So wrong. Amazing.

Our country is so fucked.

Old people need to go the fuck away and die somewhere so people that are still living their lives have a change to make a difference.

This is a pretty likely scenario. I imagine Matthews is preparing his speech on this issue as we speak.

We already do know why.

Independents voting more for McCain in the Republican primary than for Obama in the Dem primary combined with the youth vote not turning out in the same way it did in Iowa.

You are seriously underestimating political scientists.

What a weird an unexpected result, now that it is finally called. I'd say that the two big things were the media/pundit reaction and piling on to yesterday's emotional moment (caused a huge backlash among women) and the fact that Edwards piled on to her at that debate and that probably won her some sympathy (and she made some great remarks right after that exchange that were some of the most authentic in her entire campaign to date).

If this vote had been done two days ago, Obama would have won by the numbers that were being thrown about earlier today.

Alternatively, young people can stop bitch and cry like babies on the internet and get out and vote.

Great, I'm glad the race is even so early on still.
Democrats are totally dominating the race and media so far, which is interesting.

What happened to Incognito and all of his Rasmussen polls? 12 point Obama lead? :lol

I know some of you are pissed off .. but this is great. A spirited competition will only bring out the best in all of the candidates. This is a very compelling race now. Many more ups and downs left to go, don't get too down because Obama lost. Many eventual candidates have stumbled in NH, only to win the nomination down the road.

The elderly will always fuck it up and leave it to the youth but by the time it's the youths problem they're not so young and the whole cycle of fucking this country up starts all over.

Young people just need to get out and vote instead of waiting for the old people to die.
