R_GILL said:NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, what above Kabonov Burke and Hall damn it. I still think the Leafs are going to suck this year, the last thing I want to see is the Bruins get a top 5 pick damn it.

pringles said:I don't understand the big deal about Kessel. Louie fucking Eriksson had a better season than him last year.
But the Leafs are starved for forwards so it's good for them. On the other hand, draft picks are very valuable in the salary cap era.

Plus, to be fair, Kessel had mono mid-last season and did not look like himself for a few weeks after returning. He could potentially have a couple of 50 goal seasons if he stays healthy, but he's gonna need a set-up man as brilliant as David Krejci to do it.Dr.Guru of Peru said:Kessel is younger and put up similar numbers in 12 less games.
SuperSonic1305 said:Bozak, Hanson, Kadri and Stalberg more than make up for any lost picks and the next 2 draft years are average at best.

I turned on my tv, but it must be broken or something... The Pens/Leafs game is on an it says the Leafs' AHL team is up 4-2. What's the real score?
To be fair, Kessel played on arguably the best team in the league, while Eriksson played on one of the worst team in the West.vatstep said:Plus, to be fair, Kessel had mono mid-last season and did not look like himself for a few weeks after returning.
Wow. Talk about a sausage fest. I see like 1.5 women in that picture._leech_ said:

darkwings said:I thought Toronto was in a rebuild? They're giving up two consecutive Top 10 picks for Phil Kessel? Do they really think they're ready to compete that soon?

Foil said:Did the Leafs trade for 21 year old Phil Kessel or 51 year old Phil Kessel Sr? I'm lost, hfboards has me convinced Kessel has only a few seasons of subpar hockey left in him and that Leafs just gave up their rebuild and future for him.
That place... only there are draft picks and prospects more valuable than actual proven NHL players. The second you become proven your stock drops to nothing at that forum. :lol
Manics said:Leafs aren't going to finish in the bottom 10 of the league in the next 2 seasons. Keep dreaming Leaf haters. :lol
darkwings said:i dunno, this whole rebuild thing seems half-assed. I would think that leafs thought about stockpiling some more 1st rounders before going all out.
Kessel is a good player, but I am not convinced that leafs are competitive right now. Could backfire.

Eklund had credibility? :lolDopeyFish said:oh yeah - this signing has absolutely destroyed eklunds credibility too
20 minutes after eklund says "leafs kessel deal not imminent", he's traded - yowza that's a stinger
Brinbe said:Eklund had credibility? :lol
And hooray for a fun, meaningless preseason win.

Manics said:Wilson also made a good point on Kessel. He scored 36 goals while averaging 16 min/game. Wilson's gonna try and play him more minutes on the Leafs. This guy is gonna be a legitimate 40-50 goal man for years.
