F-Zero GX

Apples and oranges, and anyway I don't agree that it's as good as a GT game. I forgive the GT games of many sins because the car physics are so dead-on precise, and F-Zero GX doesn't even really make an attempt.

How I came to own it
Bought it on launch day, I remember knocking punk ass bitches out of the way to make sure I didn't get stuck with a purple one. :lol

What I want from Revolution
-A Mario game where the entire game is like those special cave areas from Mario Sunshine. Give me a game with 300 levels of that and I'd die a happy man.
-A brand new 2D Mario game with ultra high res graphics and all the special variations of Mario from Mario 3.
-An advance wars game that actually plays like advance wars.
-Online play.
-A revival of some of Nintendo's forgotten franchises/characters.
-More collaborations with other studios, they could help make the previous item come true.

Favorite Game: F-Zero GX

Got it a week or so after launch thanks to the kindness of someone that barely knew me and lived half way across the world. Fancy that. Can't thank him enough for it.

What I want out of revolution: F-Zero GX 2 w/ an online championship/career mode.

-Your favorite Gamecube game.
I honestly don't have one. FZGX would be up there though.

-Your Cube collection
Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil remake, MGS:TTS, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, Pikmin 2, Zelda: The Wind Waker and F-Zero GX.

2005 will see me buying Paper Mario 2, Tales of Symphonia (I might get Baten Kaitos instead of it, or i might get both... i dunno yet. suggestions?), Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, Resident Evil 4, Zelda 2005, Fire Emblem: Souen no Kiseki and if it really is coming out for consoles this generation Starcraft: Ghost. I might also pickup some old games i skipped earlier on like Super Smash Bros: Melee and Resident Evil 0.

That's 18 titles.

-How you came to own a Gamecube
I've loved Nintendo games ever since the Game Boy. How could i not get a GC? I got a GC and copy of Metroid Prime for my birthday.

-What you want the most out of the Revolution
The kind of fun and awesome games i loved on the N64 and GC.

heh, yeah some people online are awesome like that. This guy (whose name or online alias i wont mention) did me a huge favour and sent me his own copy of Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel for GBC since I couldn't find a copy of it in Australia. And he gave it to me for free.

Bought it because Animal Forest which was released tons of years later when I had already lost the interest and the time and SSBM which I thought it would be a great iteration to the N64 one (in fact it wasn't but perhaps I had already lost interest too).

I am not interested in Revolution but in GC 2k5 and 2k6 years and I don't really see the point of releasing it unless they plan too have half the users.

How you came to own a gamecube: I always planned to get one shortly after launch, but the job I had at the time sucked, and I was unemployed for 6 months shortly after that. I wound up buying it around the pricedrop to $99; pretty fortunate for me.

What do I want out of Revolution: More solid first-party games with a better selection of third party games than the GC. I think they did an excellent job on the GC hardware technology wise, and truth be told, most of their past hardware have been excellent outside of a few dumb decisions, so that isn't a problem.

-What you want the most out of the Revolution
online. please. i'd like to say i wouldn't buy one if it's not online-enabled, but i know ther will be another prime game and probably a new mario one too ..

it's pretty weird but my favorite game AT THE MOMENT is basically RE4...

I really enjoy Donkey Konga multiplayer, but if we are talking 1p, then it's definitely RE4, I haven't touched another 1p game since getting it, and I've even abandoned my Advance Wars 2 addiction on DS...

sure it's kinda scary and I hate scary stuff, but the fact that this is Capcom and Mikami doing GCN it's hard to resist going through it, and the game is SO GOOD that even for disliker of scary movies and games like me I want to go through it...

I think this thread can be summed up in a sentance. The Cube definately has it's share of great games and is a damn fine console despite all the haters.

I love you GC. :)

Out of the thread scum queen! Nintendo make hardware for Nintendo software. That's why we buy both.

IAWTP. A more neutral button configuration on the controller would have helped, though.

Fave game: Metroid Prime or SSB:M (I'm not far enough in RE4 to make a judgement)

Looking forward to: the new Zelda

Collection: don't have the time to list them, probably 20 games

What I want out a Revolution: I don't know. I'm in a very long game backlog . I won't be getting a new machine until like 2008, unless the Revolution has BC (and the PS3 has BC). Then I will trade up to the new machines.

-How you came to own a Gamecube

Other consoles hadn't enough appealing games to me, the money reason too.

-What you want the most out of the Revolution

To surprise me and be completely different from the boring 8-year-old-gameplay-lineup of the other nex-gen-consoles (which will likely appear).

I wouldn't say I love my Cube, so much as it's the system I own, so I'll play it. I enjoyed my PS2 more, but the Cube hasn't exactly disappointed either.

Favorite game
Zelda: Wind Waker

Collection
Wind Waker
Metroid Prime
Zelda classics
Eternal Darkness
Baldur's Gate II(?)
Prince of Persia
Beyond Good and Evil
Splinter Cell
Mario Sunshine
FZero
Viewtiful Joe
Madden 2005

Reason I got it
$99. It was $80 cheaper at the time.

Revolution wishes?
Nintendo going 3rd party.

Meh, what can I say? The controller is the most comfortable one this gen, but the button layout is a crime against gaming. I preferred the library and stuff on my PS2, but I'm also a Miyamoto whore. I'd much prefer the best of both worlds. PEACE.

Favorite Game: RE4...fookin' amazing. Still can't believe what happened to this series.

Games Owned: A lot of usual suspects but let me say that...

Cubivore + Gotcha Force = underappreciated awesomeness.

ED is not as bad as GAF says.

Gameboy Player = wicked awesome.

Animal Crossing>>>>Harvest Moon

Baiten Kaitos>>>>>ToS

For every really bad game that comes out (1080, PN03) there's usually something good (Paper Mario 2, Super Monkey Ball).

-How you came to own a Gamecube

Needed a replacement for my deceased Dreamcast if I was to continue playing next-generation games. I was a reformed Nintendo fan, so I went back to them. Wasn't willing to give Microsoft a chance(At that time), and didn't care for the other guys.

-What you want the most out of the Revolution

A Mario game that has the same "Feeling" as the old NES Marios. Those Marios were fast-paced. I love doing speed runs on the original Super Mario Bros. I'd like to be able to do the same with a new-generation Mario game. Also, more support from Konami, dammit.

Your Favourite Gamecube game:

It's actually a tie between Metroid Prime and Windwaker

Library:

What do you want out of the Revolution:

A Mario game that is just as good as Super Mario Brothers 3 was (wishful thinking, I know.) And more Metroid games like Metroid Prime.
