Recently a bunch of mixtapes have came out in the past few months that could all be some of the best new models of quality hip-hop to come out in the last decade. Hip-Hop is in as good of a state as ever, at least quality ever, with worthy artists popping up all over the country...It really is an amazing time. I don't know how many people hip-hop fans are on neogaf, but I couldn't let these goldmines go to waste. I just had to let everybody know about these mixtapes and artists, especially since a bunch of bullshit has been coming out on the radio these days. Some of these albums are a few months old, but most of them have come out very recently, and have been distributed freely through various sources.

I would have included some Charles Hamilton stuff too, but he hasn't come with a mixtape in a while. Still some amazing stuff released in the past year.

I'd start with the latest and greatest Add-2 mixtape if you plan on chomping down on these releases.

Hipster-Hop?
Maybe two out of the ten albums, but people have the tendency to overuse that term to apply to anything that is new and has the potential to be popular...When it actually has a negative connotation.

Edit: If you are a fan of any era of hip-hop I'd think you be able to appreciate Add-2's mixtape at least.

I think I'd rather have Hipster-Hop go mainstream than a lot of what we've got now

Exchanging rims and bitches for Gucci backpacks and Transformers isn't what I'd call progress. But while I'm not a fan of Wale and similar "hipster" rappers...at least they can fucking rap, and aren't afraid to try different things.

Can't wait for Blu to rap over something, anything again. And hopefully Jay Electronica will drop something

Yeah I agree, but I like like 2 or 3 songs on each mixtape so I can't hate too hard...Re-Anna is a great song.

I hope that list isn't ranked. Back to the Feature ahead of The Warm up? Other then that I have to check a few of those out that I haven't.

No not ranked, though as you probably can tell Add-2's latest is my favorite.

Yeah I'm going to check it out.

When I found out the Warm Up was mostly produced by J Cole himself I was really blown away. I am excited for his new mixtape or album, whichever comes first.
