I think he means that it has no replay value, and I can confirm that it doesn't. It's about 10 hours and at least I have absolutely no desire to play it again. So I'd recommend it as a rental to anyone on a tighter budget.shpankey said:splain please

Yeah, don't get me wrong or anything. I'm not trying to talk anyone out of buying it. I love Oddworld Inhabitants and Lorne... But I think people with less money should be given a fair warning. We've all been there.Truelize said:10 hours is sweet for an Oddworld game. These guys deserve my money for always doing something different. I'll be getting this today as well.
I agree completely with the graphics part of this review. Oddworld is an amazing looking game, and I'm quite the graphics whore. Utterly polished too, so far I did not detect any noticeable slowdowns, quite an accomplishment considering the number of stuff being displayed on the screen at a time.DHGamer said:Another review at WorthPlaying
9.2 score and this little quip
"Graphically this has got to be one of the best looking games I have seen since the release of Ninja Gaiden several months ago. Stages are vast and very open with a view distance up to a half mile, not your average game where you are limited on where you can go and are confined to small spaces. Backgrounds are detailed and are not blurred or covered with a fog. There are a high number of polygons used to model objects and everything is textured nicely. Lighting, reflections, and explosions throughout the game are very well done also."
Picking it up after work.

The world seems more alive in this game than expected...the graphics are silky smooth with expansive and highly detailed areas and the gameplay is a refreshing mix of many genres. The game's stealth aspect is well done and the controls IMO could not have been better. This game oozes polish and life. The live-ammo aspect of this game creates a completely unique gameplay experience for every single challenge the game throws at you. Every weapon type is can be used and some extremely fun combos can be found just by picking two random weapons and finding out how one draws on the other's strengths.
The controls in either view are perfect IMO and the camera controls and customization are more exhaustive than neededMy only complaint regarding the camera is that in the 3rd person view it can get stuck...though this only happened to me once throughout my current game (and even then, a quick switch to the 1st person view fixes that). My only complaint about the 1st person view is that it is hard to tell if your character gets knocked down as the screen doesn't lower to let you know.
The ammo, themselves, are hilarious and often lead to many fun distractions inside of towns or with single foes. Of all of them, I've come to especially love the Critters-like fuzzballs (think proximity mines that chew enemies to death instead of explode) and the devastation that can be caused by them. Hell...even punching enemies (Click L-Analog stick while in 1st person view) through windows and off bridges is more fun than it should be. All of the weapons are useful and any conceivable combination has it's use. This aspect of the game actually reminded me of Splinter Cell's gadgets than any previous shooter.
The game's visuals are great and I will have to agree with the previous posters and say that this is one of the best looking games available on a console. The enemy animation, the details put into all of the textures, the exception use of effects (this game is one of the few games I can think of that doesn't shove badly used effects down your throat,).without a single drop in the games framerate had to have been of the best graphical 'wow' moments in recent memory. The game's distinct western feel is a welcome change of pace from the usual videogame design (Running through a detailed tunnel and then finding yourself inside huge underground cavern filled with luminous insects and flora coupled with a gorgeous pool of water reflecting the entire scene)though the game does seem to shift into a WWII vibe where I'm at
The funny thing is, I almost didn't pick this game up after being bored with Munch

at first i was just killing everything, but now, im tryna capture as many things alive as i can, and it can be quite difficult trying to pick people off and the suck em in while a shitload of other guys are trying to shoot at you....thats when you gotta get "tactical" and thats where the depth really comes in.
with that said, what is everyones most used ammo?
right now....im playing this game kinda like i would a RE game, where im tryna conserve ammo (which is stupid of me cause theres ammo all over the place), so i mostly use just the infinite shock ammo. my combo is usually Spider/Infinite shock thing or Fuzzle/infinite shock.....
and if there is a group together....il get the skunk/infininte shock thingy.
