Thanks for the help. This really really sucks.PowerRun said:Connected the PS3 with the composite cables and my screen tells me it's running at PAL50. No option in either Ridge Racer 7 nor Formula-1 to switch to 60Hz.

Do you know if NTSC-games runs at 60hz on PAL PS3's?
And on SD, no?spwolf said:On HD, yes...
Fredrik said:I can't believe that Sony missed this. Haven't they tested the console on the type of TV's that most people in Sonyland uses?

tsef said:I work nights in a hotel and right below us there is a FNAC a shop specialized in cultural and electronic products. They opened tonight at 23h00 and only 10 people came and most of them didn t even buy a console from what clients told me.
Rabid Wolverine said:11.20pm: There are now about 60 people in line, but the crowd outside the line has dwindled somewhat to about 200. We just spoke to Bernie Brooks, CEO of Myer, who said that the PS3 had by far the most pre-orders of any next-generation console. Brooks quoted a pre-sale figure of close to A$2 million.
Pachael said:You know, on second thought that really isn't attractive since the PS3 retails for A$999. So using basic division the # of pre-orders in Australia is... close to 2,000. Just 2,000?!?!
I bet those pre-orders didn't cost $1000...lambchop said:i think people have to keep in mind the price tag of this thing ... and the large number of preorders.
NZ stores had more preorders for the $1000+ ps3 than it had for wii or 360

i don't know, but i know that Wii and 360 generated only a few lines, people in Europe prefer to pre-order and then pick it up during the day.Liberty City King said:So the PS1, PS2 never generated any lines in Europe?

i've owned (just about ) every console launched in the UK since the Atari, and only ver queued for a GC.

quetz67 said:no lines in europe because video games isnt such a hype here. late launches usually mean good supply and most who really care got their consoles importet alreay.
360 and Wii changed things a little trying to launch worldwide. the low supply didnt help the 360, the Wii it helped to get some hype, but right now there is neither supply nor demand for it.
PS3 luanch goes quite smoothly, which after all is a good thing. Better launch than PS2 IMO.
